Nick's Sandwiches is a pretty dang good spot for lunch! I found this while visiting for a baseball game and of course I used Yelp to find something delicious. It was a bit awkward entering because of Covid and the safety measures but the staff made us feel at home. I felt safe and the food was SO good. The sandwich meat tasted very fresh, the bread was excellent, and toasted perfectly. We also had a lemon bar that tasted great. Didn't try any of the yogurts, can't let that belly get TOO big. Oh my oh my... I cannot be more grateful to Nick's Sandwiches. I came from out of town working for the Military. It was my responsibility to find a Covid friendly place that will wrap meals individually. One of my co-workers suggested subway, however, upon calling them they quickly denied my request for 40 sandwiches and referred me to their website to place Grubhub order. Shocked by the fact that they didn't want my business. I quickly thought, no, let me shop local? Why not? We're in a pandemic and local businesses could use the business. That's when I found Nick's sandwiches. I quickly dialed the number and hoped that they wouldn't deny the 40 sandwiches that I needed, to feed my nurses ASAP, I spoke with a LOVELY young gal (I cannot remember your name and I wish I did) I told her our situation as we have been working since 5 am! Rest assured she explained to herself that she is a veteran and would help us out quick fast and in a hurry. I am so grateful for your excellent customer service and the fact that you worked with me as I was under such stress. Now, let's get to the sandwiches... let's just say I had 49 VERY happy Nurses. I tried to support my neighborhood business today. I had to return after traveling 30 minutes out and realizing part of my order was missing. I returned only to be treated poorly by the two-toned disrespectful sandwich maker. I don't mind paying for overpriced sandwiches & missing food if staff is friendly BUT I have never encountered such unprofessional, rude employees in my life!! They acted like I was to blame! I am saddened & disappointed! I find it hard to believe business owner Alise (sp) would allow her staff to pop off at customers in a confrontational manner, Then follow up by calling me using vulgar profanity claiming her husband is a cop?....and stating she's a VA? Yelling & screaming she "owns many business"' etc....what's that got to do with having manners? Or better yet, good customer service? What ever happened to just a good old fashioned apology? I added pickles and Swiss cheese and don't regret it. It added to the flavor of the sando and was so good! Ask for it toasted so the cheese is melted and the bun will be warm with a nice crunch.
