Chicken parm and a turkey dinner

Nicky's is remnant of the 1970s. The decor, ambience, menus, absolutely everything is outdated by decades. That's just the beginning... Without question, chef Mike is the head chef at Nicky's. And I don't mean chef Mike by name, I mean chef microwave. Nearly everything is prepackaged or pre-canned. Absolutely nothing is made fresh to order. As clearly visible in the pictures, the beans are canned, the tomato sauce is canned, the gravy is canned, the raviolis are premade the cranberry sauce canned. The only thing that perhaps touched a "chefs" hand is the mozzarella when they either applied a blow torch or placed the food under a salamander to provide the browning to the mozzarella cheese. How this could leave the kitchen, with a culinary trained head, chefs approval is beyond me. Clearly there is not somebody versed in the culinary arts that is allowing this to leave their kitchen without the owners consent. If you are too lazy to warm up some food on your own, do your own dishes, then absolutely, Nicky's the place for you. The food is equivalent to a Swanson's TV dinner nothing more nothing less. No complaints about the service and the pricing is on par with what you would expect. Looking for a cheap, tasteless, mix of prepared, canned foods, then Nicky's place for you!

Nicky's has been open for over 50 years. They are obviously doing something right. Nicky's is a family restaurant that draws a steady crowd. They're known for their fried seafood and ice cream but have many other offerings, including breakfast. This is typical to a lot of places we grew up with having an early closing time. My friend and I were in the area and we were both craving seafood. Our waitress was very attentive. My friend started with a Shirley Temple and I had a Raspberry Lime Rickey! Delicious, brings me back to my childhood. We both got a bowl of Clam Chowder. The chowda was filled with clams and potatoes. We both thought it had a nice flavor but was a little bland. Salt completely fixed that. They might keep the sodium low for their customers. I had one of the specials, it was a Baked Seafood Trio. This was baked scallops, shrimp and haddock in their basic stuffing. The scallops were huge and cooked perfect. The haddock itself was cooked perfect, the stuffing in the fish had very uneven temperatures. Shrimp were cooked nice, but extremely small. The Mashed Potatoes and the Carrots were cooked right. Overall I did enjoy the dish. For the price, the juice was worth the squeeze. If you are in the area it is definitely worth stopping at.

The food is delicious and the staff are great. The breakfast menu often includes a new dish. I just tried the Pumpkin Eggnog Texas French Toast, oh my gosh amazing!

My first time visit was amazing. Our food was served hot and delicious. The fried clams were served perfectly and the onion rings are the best I've had in a while. The tartar sauce is absolutely outstanding. Service was friendly, very much a family and welcoming atmosphere. I did not have a chance to taste the ice cream, but they had many various flavors to pick from.

I love a LOCAL IWNED family business that stays current and still makes amazing food. I have had the ice cream here and breakfast here and so much food with decent portions every time. Today it's wicked hot out and I wanted big belly clams and that is exactly what Nicky's sells. The owner welcomes ya when you come in and shows you the new COVID set up and I am impressed. High back boards and removed tables and it looks like perfection for healthy eating. I sat in my booth scanned my menu and I already knew I wanted clams& lime Ricky. Paula who has been here for years big smiles asked how I was doing and made me feel at home. The plate was covered in big belly clams ! Crispy fries and ginormous onion rings. I had to hold my iPhone in both hands so I didn't chow on my lunch. So hot so flavorful and sooooo gone I love this place and reasonable prices too.

Wanted to have just some whole clams and was heading to another restaurant on Route One in Foxboro, when I remembered Nicky's. Price was one half of what the other restaurant wanted. Absolutely delicious.....couldn't get better at a seaside place. Got take out...speedy service and very friendly service. 20 bucks for this!!!

Usually dine here for breakfast, but we came here for a Friday night dinner so we would be near the high school for an evening football game. Place was busy, but we landed a corner table for three. Place is very basic, could use some redecoarating, but the service and food are good. We had a fish dinner, a fish and clam strips dinner and a stuffed pepper dinner. Fish was great, nice batter, large fillet, fries, slaw and a couple of onion rings. Peppers was okay, carrots way over cooked, but baked potato was excellent. Definitely best fried fish in the area.

I had no idea they do buck-a-shuck oysters on Sundays during football season. If I'd known earlier, I definitely would've been here all season long! We grabbed a dozen and they were fresh, cold, and delicious. Our server, Karen, was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. She convinced me to try the beef vegetable soup, and I'm so glad she did. She mentioned that the beef comes from the ends of their filet mignon -- and honestly, it was the best beef vegetable soup I've ever had. Rich, flavorful, and she even split it into two cups since we were sharing. Such a thoughtful touch! Before we left, my boyfriend wanted to gamble a bit, so I planned to take another glass of wine onto the casino floor. I told Karen I wanted to try something different, and she surprised me with a mini wine tasting of three options. I ended up choosing a wine I never would've tried on my own -- and loved it. Karen truly made the experience special. Stellar service, great food, and awesome vibes. We will definitely be back!

When the server tells you the evening specials you are left to guess how much they are charging for them. Personally, I think you shouldn't have to ask the cost of specials seeing as the menu has prices. We did asked the price of the filet mignon special because the 2 on the menu were a 10oz for $69.95, other filet was 10oz for $71.95. the 10 oz filet mignon special was $99.95 with asparagus on top with a demi glaze & mashed potatoes. So I am guessing the asparagus is the reason for the additional $30.00?? One of the other specials was a whole lobster with the lobster meat and stuffing inside and a side of mashed Unfortunately we did not ask the price of this special. We really didn't think it would be more than the filet. Guess again...bill came and the 2 lobster specials we had ordered were $120.00 EACH. Husbands had chicken dishes, we had total 4 glasses of wine, 1 baileys and 2 desserts. Bill total $450.00 yet this really isn't the main reason I am writing this review. The maitre had come over to our table to ask how our meal was, he never made eye contact with us again and completely ignored us answering his question. He was merely trying to push us along to free up the table. He was rude and arrogant to say the least! Meanwhile after spending $450.00 for what was really just an average dinner this is how the patrons are treated. No thank you. We will stick to Mia Regazza in Abington or Marshfield or Alma Nova in Hingham to just mention a few. Funny "Average J" review below he says "Oh, and the white haired maître D guy needs a new white sport coat- looks like the buttons are about to pop off. He is right about that. My husband had the same comment.

I had the 8 ounce sirloin which you could cut with the fork. It was cooked perfect and everything came out hot and fresh just like I wanted these otherwise I would've sent it right back cause I like my food to burn in my mouth. They also have for a couple dollars more you could get a filet mignon with special butter on top for $24. Everything came with a soup or a salad. It also came with a pasta or potatoes so starch and a vegetable or instead of the vegetable the day which was a carrot and green bean mix you could also get instead you get coleslaw. I got the coleslaw. It didn't really have a mayonnaise type dressing on it so that was a different kind of taste and it wasn't very cold so I kinda was concerned about that so I only had one bite. But the baked potato that I got was scolding hot. The butter melted right away in it, which is to me as a perfect potato came with sour cream. The steak like I said was tenders could be cooked exactly the way I like it you could cut it with a fork even though I had a steak knife. My partner had the veal Parmesan, which was a very large piece she can see from the pictures with he substituted Angel hair pasta for ziti. I think he should've stuck with a Z because Angel hair was just cooked too much. I was kind of soft like really soft like al dente. But the server was wonderful. She was very friendly. Kurdish came over as each person came in and offered to guess all drinks or a cocktail or something. She was just very involve which was wonderful. Then when it came time for dessert, we had a choice was great and not pudding or ice cream. We got ice cream with the choice of vanilla chocolate or Oreo cookie. I get vanilla the other half Oreo cookie. I did ask if we could get chocolate on it chocolate syrup there wasn't enough charge of a dollar for the hot fudge. It wasn't much so I just split it with my other half cause I didn't want to pay the app charged for two of us. I had a cocktail it was very very good. I don't remember it now, but it had like makers, mark bourbon and stuff and cherries. I didn't know how expensive it was until the bill came cause I didn't realize it wasn't priced on the menu but that's OK. I will learn and not get it again. I felt the bill was kind of high for what we had. We were gonna go out the next site to celebrate our anniversary, but with the price that we paid for dinner that first night on Tuesday we didn't really have enough in a bunch left to go out the next day. Our bill for this was $75 for the two of us. I know that's probably the average price now for going out to dinner, but I just thought that was a little high, but I didn't expect it to be really that much but we had a set price for dinner. But it's all brand new now. The insides all changed over. It's a little bit of dark wood, but I think like a cherry finish it kinda looks like they have a separate area completely from the bar to the restaurant. It isn't blocked off completely but it's made so you really have a separation there and we had gotten the function room in the back which seated with our party was 27. But I think you'll easily fit in 50 people in that back room. We've already decided when we go back. He wants to go back and try the burger but if we do that, we'll probably just get the one sandwich just to see if it's more reasonable period for us but it was wonderful. I really had a good time.

My only complaint is the mozzarella sticks appetizer was a huge disappointment. Each stick is massive, the size of a full size candy bar. And it was so big that they were solid , not melted inside. Not enjoyable eating such a huge bar of cheese. It's like they just cut a 8oz block in half long ways and fry it up. You get 4 in an order.

My waitress was lovely and efficient, and I also didn't feel rushed. What made it a four star experience rather than 5 stars for me was the ambiance. The music was horrible--like 1980's big hair band type music. It was such a bizarre contrast to the rest of the upscale ambiance, which looked & felt more like a steakhouse. Decor wise, there's not much to write home about. Outdated with lots of wood but, hey, it's a pub. Which is why I didn't expect fancy restaurant prices. The evening started out fine. Our friendly young server brought us a basket of warm Irish soda bread with real Irish butter, which was delicious. Our water was served in cute logo glasses. Strangely enough, the beverage menu listed wine prices but not cocktail prices. And we wanted Margaritas, which weren't listed. When we asked our server, she immediately said they didn't offer them. Since they have a full bar, we asked why. I honestly don't think she knew what a Margarita was. She said she'd ask the bartender & came back to tell us they could make them. We asked the price. Again, she had to find out... $12. We agreed, but when she returned with two drinks in Old Fashioned glasses, I refused mine. The drink was literally 4 sips! My dining companion kept hers & said it was nicely made but not worth the price. I ordered a ginger ale instead ($3). We both ordered fish & chips ($21) and, again, were disappointed with what we received for the price. The chips appeared to be hand cut & were tasty, but the small, thin fish fillets were breaded in what I believe was cornmeal. Edible but certainly not what you'd expect from an Irish pub. Where's the beer batter? Neither of us liked the tiny cup of coleslaw. Afterwards, we asked for a dessert menu. Again, no prices. There were three desserts & several coffee drinks listed. We opted for Irish coffees ($13) and were pleased with the coffee, whiskey, brown sugar and fresh whipped cream concoctions. With tax & tip, the total bill came to $105.76, way too much for this kind of place. And, they ended up charging us $13 for that mini-Margarita. Whatever. We won't be back.
