Nightingale opens 11am on the weekend so I got there a few mins before they opened and lined up. A cute lil bakery in downtown Forestville, plenty of street parking. They still only allow 2 people in at a time. I ordered a lime cheesecake, a chocolate cookie, a large french bread, and 2 thimbles and came to over $40. Definitely pricey! I would suggest ordering the smaller french bread if you cant finish the large one in a day. I tried to eat the other half the next day and it was as hard as a rock. The lime cheesecake however surprised me! It was delicious. It was the only flavor they had when I was there but according to their menu they sometimes have lemon and passion fruit. Worth a stop! Its only a 3 min drive down from Mom's Pies.

This loaf of bread in the photo is priced at $7.50. Seriously! I miss Beth the Baker. This is no longer the neighborhood bakery... I believe it's now meant for tourists traveling through. By the way, this was a normal sized pen, & that is an abnormally small loaf of bread. So disappointed.

Yummy, but sometimes they stink up town...like burnt-ness....wish it was filling the air with fresh bread smell instead.

Excellent product and an owner who believes in local businesses. Her bread is a staple of my diet and my body and wallet are happy for it.

Another successful visit to the Korbel Castle!! We love to take an annual trip to the Russian river…read moreand sip on the delicious wines from the vines. Hehe. This year we did a day trip and stop my the deli. It's small but yummy and so fresh. The size of your entree is enough for two so you can share or get a to go and nibble later. Or you can buy some charcuterie items and make a board later that night. Whatever you pick will be a winner!! Then of course you can stop by the tasting room for some tastings, take a tour, or just buy what you know you love!! Don't sleep on the brandy. Many people know Korbel for the champagne but the Brandy is on point!! Also, there is a lot of outdoor seating so if the weather is right you can enjoy the outdoors while you eat and drink. Lastly , I had a pomegranate mimosa with sparkling edible glitter. I mean who can ask for more. LOL

The interior is super chic and beautiful, but honestly the real star was the food. Not a single thing disappointed us. Everything was SOOO delicious. I wasn't expecting this level of flavor for such reasonable prices, so that was a very nice surprise. And seriously ,do not leave without trying the pumpkin salad. It's a must.
