Delicious tiny teriyaki joint hidden in the Junction area. It has been over two years since first stumbling on this place. I've tried many things on the menu, yet I keep going back to the chicken teriyaki and chicken katsu combo. One breast of teriyaki, one of katsu, a scoop of rice for each, fresh and simple salad in the back spots of the to go box. All of this equals a gut bomb of deliciousness for less than $10! Don't seem what all the excitement is about this place. Overpriced small servings and mediocre food. Beef and chicken was too salty. Food served luke warm not hot. Nothing offered for take-out like forks spoon napkins.. Hmm I guess the 'GOOD' rating from health dept. means mediocre. Surrounded by apt. buildings I guess they have their regulars. The food here is delicious! My boyfriend and I got teriyaki chicken, chicken katsu, gyoza, and sweet & sour chicken, all for about $35. Despite being pretty busy (for late at night!) our food came out pretty fast. Lots of people were in and out picking up to-go orders which to us was a good sign. Only reason I give 4 stars is because the restaurant is VERY small. There's not a lot of tables to sit and eat at, and a lot of them had empty plates or were dirty. Downside is today when I ordered, the gal at the front said she refuse to update their website which has misleading prices because they don't know how. I came here for the first time around 130p on a weekday. It wasn't busy, but 15 mins later.. a bunch of people showed up and it packed up the restaurant quickly. One of my favorite teriyaki spots in the city, and easily the best in West Seattle. The food is consistently delicious, staff is always super friendly and food comes out quick despite the long lines during lunch/dinner. I almost always go for the chicken teriyaki and katsu combo but the other dishes are great too. Living in a different part of town I haven't gone here for teriyaki cravings in along time. The one close to my house has closed down and I found out by Yelp that this is the closest one to me now. Ordering over the phone was not annoying like it is sometimes when you wonder if the person took your order correct over the phone. I had a Chicken Katsu and Teriyaki Beef combo and a side of pot stickers. When I arrived it was ready to go and the woman at the front that I remember always being there was really nice. I had to ask for a copy of my receipt which I kind of thought was weird. The to go packaging for the food was nice, it was a see through hard plastic so you could see your meal unlike the recycled paper ones that get all soggy feeling. The food was excellent seemed like a lot of salad but there was a nice portion of meat so it wasn't like they just put a whole bunch of salad in there to make up for the meat. To me its always frustrating to assume that they give you enough sauce to then find out when you get home that there is not enough for your food. Seriously, in a small cup about 1 1/2" I had a generous 1/4" amount of pot sticker sauce that came with 8 pot stickers.... The katsu sauce was a little less than half of the cup as well. That is so annoying when teriyaki shops get all cheap and do this especially when you have no other sauce that can go with it and you're home and that's when you usually find out this problem. I don't know about you but I don't understand why I have to be vocal that I would like a full or decent amount of sauce for the meal I purchased and not just have enough for like two or three. If you are ordering something to go with sauce from this place i would check it before you go out the door just to make sure you have enough. read more

I almost throw up when I saw a big piece of green pot scouring pad in my chicken yakisoba. I wanted to tell the owner so they can watch out for it but the place just grosses me out whenever I think about what's in my food. It's probably a mistake but I won't be going back. Can't risk my health/life and don't want to eat a piece of green pot scouring pad... :( I have a picture too. It's quite confusing to me because the people that run the restaurants are Korean and not Japanese. The menu is definitely for Americans -- nothing wrong about that, just saying. But inside dining area is VERY small and it was cold in there (winter time). Best teriyaki I've ever had...Not that I've had many, but I don't need to try other places because I LOVE Nikko! I like my teriyaki to be saucy, and with a thick sauce. The sauce is perfect, the chicken is perfectly juicy but cooked all the way, and the portion is amazing - I can't ever eat the whole thing in one sitting! The menu has a good variety of things. The regular chicken teriyaki is delicious, the spicy chicken teriyaki is delicious, their fried rice is great, the gyoza is delicious. So far, the only thing I didn't love was the sweet and sour chicken...but I think that's just because I don't like sweet and sour, not because of Nikko. My boyfriend also really likes that he can get fried rice instead of regular white rice for just a few bucks more. Yes, the wait time is not ideal. Yes, it has cramped seating. I have gone here for years. Been staying in due to the Pandemic. Happened to be out and near by so ordered ahead by phone. Arrived to a several person line to pick up food- As IT IS POSTED NO DINE IN! First dude strolls up past 6-7 people to counter and counter guy checks him out. Then as I am next in line, counter guy starts calling out names which then results in 2-3 guys with similar names all getting out of line to get there food without any wait. Two people spoke up that we were all waiting too for our called in order and counter guy acts surprised. Now there are 5 folks in a small space. The counter guy acted like he still might not let me check out (after waiting to pay for 30 minutes) until I threatened to leave him with what I ordered. It also did not go unnoticed that he might have been trying to serve the men first SO - won't be back anytime soon. Got better things to do then stand in line and stand line just trying pay 40 minutes after I called in my order. read more

I get my prescriptions filled at the Bartells on the level above Nikko Teriyaki and it always smelled so good so when I was in the neighborhood with a friend, we decided to stop in and check them out. It's a standard looking little hole in the wall, a handful of small tables and the counter where you order with the menu on the wall behind the counter. We ordered a chicken teriyaki and a beef teriyaki and about five minutes later the order was up and we were out of there. I live about 5 minutes from there so we decided to eat at home. We got to my place and we opened up the take-out boxes and they were loaded. Two scoops of rice, a big pile of teriyaki and a nice crisp salad. The beef was my favorite. Lean flavorful beef and the sauce was really great. The chicken was good too but maybe a little on the dry side. Rice is rice and the salad was a nice crispy offset to the rest of the dish. I don't know what's in the dressing they use, but I think it might contain a schedule 3 narcotic, because I want more of it. Right now! Anyone complaining about these portion sizes is crazy. Neither of us could finish our orders. If we pressed the issue we might have been able to, but it would require spending a few hours on the couch doing Al Bundy impersonations. Instead, we threw in the fork early and on the bright side, lunch for tomorrow is already taken care of. This is a 4.75 star review, I knocked off a touch for the slightly dry chicken and tiny seating area. As Governor Ahnold would say, "Ahl be back." read more

I had to kill some time in west Seattle and was craving teriyaki, I saw this place was nearby and had great reviews so I had to try! ... YUM. I had the spicy teriyaki with an egg roll and both were absolutely perfect.. The sauce was not your typical spicy teriyaki (at least I've never had it before) but now I'm not sure anything else could compare!! The women who took my order was so sweet and a warm/bubbly personality. This review will have a lot of ups and downs; just fair warning. The food was amazing! We had their eggrolls and a combination plate of chicken and beef. Eggrolls were great, Salad was great, food was juicy and just amazing. I couldn't stop eating. What did stop me from eating was my racing heart and the weird sweats. Hadn't eaten anything all day mind you so the only explanation that made sense was that they put MSG in their food. Which isn't bad! For some people who are sensitive nancy's like myself? Its really noticable and uncomfortable. It's just a flavor enhancer but unfortunately I can't eat it. So till they stop using it I can't return sadly. But my girlfriend was all about their food and didn't get sick like me! She loved everything just as much as I did. So!
