We have been to Nikos several times in the last few months. Each time, Wendy was our server, and she is a doll! Today, we went in for a late breakfast. It closes at 3pm, right? We walked in at 2pm, and got a very dirty look from a girl who would be our server. It was not busy, but there were people at about ten tables when we walked in. After ignoring us for a punitive amount of time, she came over and asked us what we wanted. "Menus" was my response. From that point forward, she rushed us through the entire process. Apparently, I didn't order my orange juice fast enough. Then, everything I wanted on the menu was unavailable. Then, we didn't pay fast enough. The food was decent, from what I had, but at 2:30, she put the pressure on. She slapped the check down, and said, "No hurry." Poured someone a cup of coffee and leaned to ask, "Are you paying cash or charge?" We were trying to eat. She kept coming back in frequent intervals (not kidding, less than a minute each time) to ask for the money and kept saying, "no hurry, but". Until I finally stopped my meal and dug out my credit card. She brought the copies for me to sign, and of course, I wasn't half way through my breakfast. She tried rushing me through that when I said, "I am about to write in your tip. Maybe you should stop rushing me." Then, I got the argument that she wanted to cash out. This was prior to 2:40, they are supposed to be open until 3pm. At that point, I stop eating, filled out the slip with a begrudging 15% tip (low for me) and just left. I am disgusted and disappointed. I will try to go in this week and talk to Wendy or a manager and see if someone even cares. Very flippant environment without the usual employees working. Maybe the food is good, but if the patron cannot eat it, or enjoy the meal because of poor treatment from the staff, then I am rethinking what I thought was my go-to breakfast spot. read more

We've been on a Sunday morning breakfast kick lately and Niko's is by far my favorite (out of the Snug, Hearth & Kettle, Wendi Lou's, Strawberry Fair, and Easter's to name a few). Although it's a silly reason, I liked it from the start because I like the graphic of the egg on the sign outside. It's cool. Every time we drove by my husband would say "we really need to go there", until we finally did. There's a wait, which seems to be the case for any and all breakfast places on Sunday morning, but things move quickly. It's bigger inside than I expected - and brighter too. More like a cafe than the Diner I expected (though to be fair, they don't call themselves a "Diner". It was a preconceived notion). The menu had all of your standard breakfast fair but it had fancier things too, like home-made lowfat yogurt Hollandaise sauce, and eggs Benedict variations with asparagus and grilled tomatoes. That's what I get and it's delicious. I like the breakfast potatoes too. That's a big "make it or break it" kind of thing for me. I admit, it's a little more progressive than I expected for Weymouth (I can say that - I grew up there). We even sat next to a gay, male couple who had a little baby with them. It made me happy. I know that may sound ridiculous since fortunately, you see that all over the place nowadays. But it kind of felt as if the small-minded town of my youth was all grown up, just like me. read more

Consider me educated. I never knew that there could conceivably be so many permutations of an omelette. The menu goes on and on with breakfast foodstuffs that defy imagination. I think I might have spotted five different kinds of Eggs Benedict combinations. Who knew? I always thought eggs were pretty pedestrian... until I discovered them laced with gruyere cheese, nutmeg (!), bacon and spinach in a highbrow manifestation of a quiche lorraine omelette. Add in a side of perfectly crisp bacon and all of a sudden I'm less bitchy that I woke up at 8:30 on Sunday to get to the restaurant early (because it gets busy). It does get super busy, by the way. Parking is a headache and if you go after 10, there's something akin to a traffic jam on Broad Street because of people trying to three point turn in the parking lot. You'll have to wait so you'll get good and hungry... which is probably a good thing because the pancakes are the size of satellite dishes and may pick up signals from space they're so big. Everything's good, nice and fattening and portions are on the larger size, so make sure you have something on hand to poke another hole in your belt. read more

Not your typical greasy spoon. I *am* a little partial because this little place is within walking distance to my house, but my oh my, what a yummy (if not waist-damaging) selection. They've just completed a renovation of the small, 40-50 seat diner type of place, so it's a little more jive than dive. Don't be in too much of a hurry, especially on late weekend mornings, because you could wait 20 minutes or so for a seat and another 15-20 for service (they sometimes only have two waitresses on at a time). Although I'm not partial to sweet, syrupy things, the banana bread french toast is so unbelievably yummy, you almost instantly have to take a nap afterward. Pass on the fruit salad (watery and canned I think), but go for the muffins (homemade and off the griddle). They serve lunch as well (the paninis are pretty good), but the breakfast menu definitely takes the pancake. read more

VERY WELL This was a Thanksgiving Friday (family tradition, we do turkey day on Friday so that out of towners can get their thing on the actual day, then we loose the goose the next day) hangover breakfast that hit all the spots. Coffee? You guessed it, they are on the spot with refills. Let's do eggs, because we gotta get a couple of those up in here. Sunny side, and the toast and bacon will make us a fabulous sandwich of breakfast badassery. HOMEFRIES: can we talk about properly seasoned, crunchy and soft potatoes? OH YES WE CAN. Later we will weep because we don't have them as often as we would like. Fast service, smiles, and local flavor. We visited this restaurant for the first time on Saturday August 10th 2013 at 1142 am. The restaurant is clean and attractive. The hostess was very welcoming. The BLT was probably one of the best I have ever had with thick tasty bacon and nice bread. My wife's egg breakfast with pancakes was a great value. Home fries were the best I have had in memory with great seasoning. Breakfasts are large. Coca Cola was very good and properly blended. Molly our waitress greeted us promptly with a great and welcoming smile and made us feel special. Drinks were refilled automatically and she checked on us repeatedly. Ask for Molly for sincere and friendly service, we will certainly be back again because of her. We recommend this restaurant for food quality, value, welcoming and seemingly happy staff, parking and ambiance. read more

Met up with friends today while in Weymouth and we were excited to try Nikos for breakfast. The menu is broad and there are a lot of options that sound (and look) really tasty. I ordered the Empire Benedict (I think that's what it was called) with smoked salmon, poached egg, and potato pancake. It comes with a light hollandaise on the side, which I really appreciated, because I don't always like my Benedict drowning in sauce. The home fries are extraordinarily well-made and they are very generous with the serving size. Niko's is able to run that fine line between soft and somehow crunchy all at the same time. I would have given four stars for our first visit, but very unfortunately, JT found a big, long hair in his bacon. Not on. It was in. Two pieces of bacon melded together on the plate with a big piece of hair stuck in it. It's only hair...but you know how when you see that hair, the entire plate just all of a sudden seems like hair? Yeah...that was too bad. It happens, so it hardly makes sense to me to make a huge deal out of it. It came at the end of the meal, so he had been able to enjoy his blueberry, strawberry and cream cheese French Toast just fine! We didn't mention it to the waitress as it really wasn't that big of a deal, but I think it still warrants withholding a star until a second visit is had. We'll definitely come back and give this place another try. I had my eye on the omelets and would love to try lunch as well. All in all, a good place for a quick breakfast! read more

Last week, I was looking for a good place for breakfast and after reading the reviews here I was super excited to go to Nikos for breakfast on my birthday! I was on my way to the Cape and I made my boyfriend stop there for breakfast. It was a BIG desapointment. The food was greasy, no taste and don't expect gourmet food or even good quality food but rather average to low quality ingredients, bland and tasteless. No food presentation, no coffee espresso drinks and NO good coffee, they serve the worst brewed coffee. The place itself was ok, clean and has parking, they tell you to sit wherever you want. The lady who waited on us was nice and polite. Breakfast is my favorit meal of the day especially on the weekend and I highly value good quality gourmet food and I LOVE a good cup of brewed coffe and this place has neither. I've visited Niko's 2 times. Once for lunch and again for breakfast and I am sure I won't be back. The food and service aren't bad outright but underwhelming on many levels. The pancakes were the worst part of my breakfast. Hard and dense. I don't recommend them. The rest of my breakfast was satisfactory. I love brunch. And I love eggs Benedict. They're probably what I order for every brunch (I can't help it!). So, after hearing about how Niko's has cool eggs Benedict, I'd figure I'd come check this place out. Nope nope nope. The good: Cute restaurant Cheap prices Coffee and service are fine Delicious breakfast potatoes The bad: I ordered the eggs benedict with the crab cakes. The crab cake was 90% breadcrumbs and 10% flavorless crab. Terrible. I could hardly eat them. Considering they're the most expensive benedict option, I expected better. My poached eggs were overcooked (if you specialize in eggs Benedict, they should be perfectly cooked, IMO. Thankfully, after I notified my server, she had the kitchen make me new eggs. Better, but still slightly overcooked. I was very disappointed and will not be coming back. It's too bad because this place could be great, but from looking at most people's food that they got, it seems like many of the menu items come from a can. Let's start off with this- I've heard SO many reviews from friends and family about Nikos. I'm a VERY big breakfast fan, and can't wait to try a new place. I met a friend who is from Weymouth in the mid afternoon in the parking lot. The lot is very small and we had trouble navigating with the earlier crowd trying to get out quickly. As we walk in, we notice there is plenty of room and it is not crowded. The hostess tells us to sit wherever and we take a booth. After about 5 to 10 minutes waiting to find out which waitress is ours, she comes over and takes our drink order. To my dismay my friend still needed to decide (I'm a two eggs with bacon and potatoes girl so I don't ever look at a menu). The menu was VERY large. Different egg choices (prepared all ways, even in omelets) as well as pancakes and waffles. 10 minutes later, the waitress came BACK over and told us, she FORGOT our drink order. I begged her to let us order drinks and food together. She huffed and rolled her eyes but relented. When the food and drinks finally came they were OK. My eggs and such were all cooked well, but cold. My friends pancakes were hot and gooey. They must have made mine first, and waited to serve me till the pancakes were ready. She never came back over to check on us, until we were almost done. We asked for our check, gave a small tip, and left without a word. All in all- we probably caught this girl on a bad day, and the kitchen after their rush. BUT if I'm going out to a restaurant I expect quality service and staff. read more

Not great, not horrible, middle of the road over priced pretentious food. After a disappointing experience my first visit I gave it another shot tonight to see if the first visit was a fluke, unfortunately it wasn't much better. I doubt they'll get my business a 3rd time. The food is significantly overpriced for the area and average quality and quantity you get My first order included pizzas which were light on toppings, and what was there was not well distributed on the pie, the toppings were thrown on in a pile in the center of the pizza. I wish I had a picture to show that I'm not exaggerating. Tonight's order was subs, the price from their online menu did not match the online ordering which was disappointing, a single sub cost $14.00, so I went in with high hopes, but it was not worth it, and I would not get it again. There was a charge of .75 per topping and 1.50 for peppers, onions and mushrooms. when I opened the sub I could only find 2 mushroom slices on the whole sub and barely any peppers. The steak was tough and cheese was only on half for some reason. With tax, 2 subs cost $30.00, which implies a certain quality level that the food could not live up to. I've only ordered here 2x, and likely won't go back, here's what I've noticed... PROs: they have online ordering, with order tracking so you know when your foods is ready, but only you reload the webpage or confirmation email to check. the restaurant seems clean, and the staff have been nice the 2 times I went. CONs: it's expensive ($17 for a 16" plain cheese pizza) poor quality control, online ordering system lists options that aren't explained (ie: "make it a bomb" doesn't explain that means you are adding a specific group of veggies). Another concern is that the, online ordering prices do not match the menu prices their website provides for download. (Ex: standard Menu says $11 plain steak and cheese sub, online ordering system says $12, and that is without any toppings.) read more

Didn't come here after church, temple or praying to an idol. I didn't happen to be in the neighborhood driving by but I did happen to look it up on Yelp and sought this place out. Amazing breakfast items. Our table had everything from eggs, pancakes both buttermilk and blueberry, potatoes, toast, bacon and I had potato cakes and corned beef hash. I will seek this place out for breakfast every time I am not in the area because it's worth going to. Breakfast was the best I have had anywhere. Service was spot on and the place was clean. My friend took me here after one of his friends recommended to him, so we decided to try it out. The menu has a lot of interest options. I got something I was familiar with, a BLT. I know Nikos well, I grew up down the street in Hingham and as a kid I used to go there with my cousins on Saturday mornings and get breakfast. Fast forward a few decades, I've since traveled the world, lived all over, and this is still the best breakfast I've ever had. Luckily I now live only a few miles away and can still get my fix. The homefries are simply amazing, omelets are fantastic, everything is great. If you love Eggs Benedict then you definitely need to visit Nikos! Granted it's a small place and can be busy at times but you simply cannot go wrong. Service is always good and prices reasonable for the quality. read more

This used to be my favorite breakfast spot in Weymouth. Although I live in town, friends and family drive miles to eat at Niko's. The service has gone down over the years. As the restaurant has become more popular the service has suffered. There used to be a great waitress but she no longer works there. The last time I visited, the waitress never asked if we wanted coffee refills. The omelets are good and my family loves the eggs Benny , but don't order the French toast, it is eggy and sometimes soggy. The pancakes are huge & filling. The blueberry ones are best. The Breakfast Bruschetta is good. Niko's used to have an excellent Greek Salad, but now sometimes the lettuce is soggy. It is worth ordering just to get the grilled pita bread that goes with it. The menu is extensive and some items are very reasonably priced while other are average. Overall Niko's is good but not worth the wait on the weekend. read more

Long wait for 12:30pm on a saturday (duh). Small but very cute atmosphere! I had the "Mickey Special" which was delicious (hash browns, eggs, grilled bagel, and french toast) and every breakfast comes with fresh garnished fruit! The french toast was a apple something special and even tho it was sitting in some type of syrup it still needed maple syrup. Tried some of my friend's homefries and they were grilled and to me too bland and potatoey... I enjoyed my meal but when I asked for Tabasco sauce...she gave me a 1/4 of a cup of buffalo sauce....huh? My meal and coffee came to about 10 dollars! Not a bad deal! read more

Came here for breakfast after church. What a fabulous find!!! We were in at around 10:30 on a Sunday morning and waited less than 15 minutes for a table. The restaurant isn't big, so the number of tables are limited, but the servers and kitchen is very efficient and kept people moving so it didn't seem like anyone was waiting long. That said, I never felt rushed during our meal. The breakfast/brunch menu is extensive with great "specials" and a variety of takes on the traditional eggs benedict. My fiance had eggs benedict with sausage and cleared his plate. I had the Papa's Special (a combination of a BLT and egg sandwich) with potato cakes. The sandwich was fantastic, and they bacon was cooked perfectly (which almost never happens). I didn't love the potato cake. The flavor is great, but I wish they had been crispier. My coffee cup was never empty and I never had to ask for a refill. Service was quick and friendly and the prices are super reasonable. Will definitely be back!! read more

This restaurant offers more than just a great breakfast. I am a regular because, even at peak brunch times, the wait isn't long. The bistro steak salad is excellent while the service is friendly and accommodating. I came in 6 minutes before closing once; I was greeted and taken care of. Portions are generous, coffee is hot and readily available, and both the servers I saw were down-right nice. So yummy I crave it. Eggs Benedict in tons of mouth watering combos, with the option for a highly addictive low fat yogurt version which I get purely for taste. My favorite way- the Cali with bacon added and the yogurt hollandaise. I wish I could have it right now. Also so good- avocado and Tuscan. Love everything else on the menu as well but the Benedict combos are what drive me to come here at least once a week if I can. Prices are perfect, they take CC, and the bill is electronic so I can see clearly what I am being billed for as opposed to breakfast places where the notepad bills leaving me wondering what I just paid for. read more

We got up to see the sunrise and needed an open early breakfast place. Breakfast is not my favorite meal but this was one of my favorite meals of the trip. I got the blt with fried egg and chunky potatoes. Delish! My husband ordered the eggs benedict with spinach and salmon. He enjoyed it a lot. We also tried the banana bread french toast topped with strawberries and bananas. A breakfast dessert. I think it could have had a little more syrup but you could taste the brown sugar in the bread (which was a good thing). To top it off, it was all very reasonably priced and service was quick and friendly. I'll come here next time we're in the area. read more

I visited Nikos this morning with my 2 year old daughter. There was a little wait but the hostess sat us down at a 4 seat table just so my daughter could sit next to me. They noticed my girl wasn't a morning person and brought her over a cup of chocolate chips and it calmed her right down. They know how to treat people going above and beyond, smiling, with their great service. Every employee I encountered was very pleasant The food menu had the basic breakfast choices and some out of the ordinary too. Food was awesome! Nikos is the best breakfast spot in Weymouth. I usually go for a late breakfast on the weekends, and there is always a wait, but it is quick. It is a pretty small place, and parking can be an issue - but all that is worth it because the food is great! The coffee is good, portions are great, and the prices are reasonable. I usually always get an omelette, and the only complaint there is that they are sometimes too "well done". The pancakes are good, and the hash browns are delicious. Most of the servers are great, but Wendy is not only friendly, she is quick and efficient. I will say that although Nikos has a great breakfast rush, the lunch is equally good in taste, but you can tell the restaurant looses its drive into the afternoon shift. I have had a few late meals (1/2pm) and the staff is ready to pack up, and there is less focus on the quality of the food. If you are looking for a homemade breakfast that will satisfy for hours, and are okay with a small, busy little eatery, this is definitely the place for you! read more

So, I was told how Nikos is the best breakfast place in the area. I have tried Easters , The Mad Hatter and Jimmys which are all really good. When I arrived we greeted abruptly and told to sit down on a table. Preferring a booth , we sat in one that had just been cleaned. One of the waitresses barked at us that the booth wasn't ready. So we got up and watched as they literally put Silverware down and then the other waitress told us we could sit down. Not a great start, The other woman was a little gruff to but a bit nicer. I ordered my food and asked for my eggs country style and the waitress looked like I had two heads and was pretty rude about it. I told her you literally fry an egg then at the end you scramble. I get my eggs and they are just scrambled. Not a big deal, The food is pretty good. Not once did the waitress check in to refill coffee or even ask us how the meal was. We finish our meal and the waitress just drops off the check and walks away. So we put our credit card with the bill and wait 15 minutes and they still hadn't come to close out our check. I considered waking out but I'm not a thief. So I walked up to the counter and my waitress miraculously appears to check us out. I have had bad service before but this was the WORST customer service I have ever received at a restaurant. Two angry 50 something women who wouldn't know customer service if it smacked them in the face. I have worked at as a retail leader for a decade. I have been yelled at by many a customer and I always kill them with kindness even if they are wrong. So if you're looking for a breakfast place in the Weymouth area. I would definitely recommend The Mad Hatter, Jimmys or Easters. If you are near Quincy you should check out Craig's Cafe in Quincy Center. Great food and some of the nicest people working there that make you feel at home. You have been warned. read more
