I went here for dinner last week. The food was pretty good. I prefer Creasian in Morgan Hill or Sushi Omakase which is located in Gilroy. The food was pretty pricey. I know that it's sushi so it's to be expected but my sister who is vegan got the vegetable tempura and it was somewhere around $16. The veggie tempura came with salad, Miso soup, and rice. The price was still astronomical considering what the meal consisted of. Veggies and rice don't cost much, nor does Miso soup. Our server was unable to tell us whether the dressing on the salad had any animal by-products. She said only the owner knows the recipe. I thought that was a little strange, they also had no alternative dressing. The shrimp tempura roll was small. I got the salmon lover roll which was delicious. The unagi sauce was a little overpowering at times. I would get it on the side next time. Overall it was just okay. I wouldn't choose to go here myself. They do however sell ice cream macarons from Maven's creamery which are delicious. Maybe I would choose to come back... for the ice cream macarons. read more

Came in to pick up some take out. Was helped by a girl named Madison and received terrible service. She took my money and never came back with my change, receipt or communicated how long till it's ready. After receiving our food she said she was going to get the macaroon from the fridge to complete our order and then walked straight to the kitchen and never came back. We had a really great experience here with our food, drinks (especially the margaritas) and a really great server that made my friend feel less bad for also being a fork over chopstick kind of gal. She really made a point to get our drinks out from the bar ASAP because she knew we were in need! I don't live in Gilroy, but when I'm back in town I'll definitely stop here again. read more

I came here with a friend for the first time and was not to impressed. It is a nice place and was hoping I would like it since I just moved here. The rolls we ordered had big slices of cucumber so that's what the rolls tasted like cucumber not crab or shimp just cucumber. I'll give them another try later on maybe I went on an off night. read more

Ninja Sushi is the best! We have gone to the other Sushi place in Gilroy over on 10th street and Ninja sushi blows that place out of the water. The rolls are good size, the presentation of the rolls is great and the prices are very fair. I am always looking for a good deal and this place meets all expectations. We were staying here in Gilroy for one night at the Hilton. This place was recommended to us from the front desk. We were taking my son to UC Santa Cruz. We live at the beach in orange county and eat sushi all the time. The hostess/waitress was sweet fun and very attentive. I think her name was summer or spring or May? i'm not great with names. The sushi was fresh and they were accommodating to our specific changes that we wanted with our rolls. Super scallop handrolls. Once they rrealized what we liked they offered great suggestions and creative choices! We would definitely come back here when we come to Gilroy. There macaroon ice cream was amazing! I never ate dessert but I always want to and they're definitely worth a happy ending to the meal. I read some of the other complaints and didn't get them. Maybe since this place is in the middle of California they don't always get fresh fish every day, but our fish was delicious! read more

let me start off by saying, i don't eat sushi. i know, i'm that girl. but.......i love ninja sushi! i get the chicken teriyaki and tempura box. its so delicious!!!! the bar is always hopping in here. i'm never disappointed when we do dinner at ninja and i always walk away completely satisfied. so if you find yourself in gilroy, this is definitely the spot to come grab some good food. =) read more

So the food here is pretty decent. We ordered the Zoom Zoom and Spiderman roll. The fish that came with the rolls were pretty fresh, but the fully fried Zoom Zoom roll was just too intense. It was drenched in sauce, the outside rice was fully fried in tempura, and the raw fish that came inside the roll was practically cooked. The Spiderman roll was more appealing, but the soft shell crab seemed a bit off. Overall, it wasn't a horrible experience, but for $14-$15 a roll I expected much more. I used to love this place and hadn't been here for several years. I visited with my family in March and do not plan on returning. The staff were nice but the food was merely ok . The hand rolls were not my favorite. I prefer my spicy tuna hand rolls to have the spicy sauce versus Dry spice. I forgot to mention the sushi we ordered was for my 4 year old and they put wasabi on the rice. I wasn't upset but the waitress advised me that she had to ask to replace it. This took me by surprise and my only thought was she must be new to waitressing. The rest of the food came and the miso was not tasteful. Overall the food wasn't bad but it was 2 stars compared some great sushi I've had at Japanese restaurants. read more

I have no idea why there are such poor reviews!! Their prices are really good, serving sizes large (I could barely fit my sushi into my mouth), the rolls were delicious (I got the 49ers and my boyfriend got the SF Giants and they were both flavorful and artfully created), and the staff is really nice. Honestly I wish I could take this restaurant back with me to Modesto because I loved it so much. read more

Me and my buddies have searched around the bay area at a few other sushi spots and nowhere beats Ninja sushi up until now! They have lots of specialty sushi rolls (literally, about 30!). The Sake tempura rolls keep bringing back and back and back. They are awesome, try it! Also, the moji/ green tea ice cream dessert is fabulous! BEST quality sushi around!!!! Not only are their servers awesome and know exactly what they're doing like Marlena and Vanessa, but the food is delicious. The atmosphere you feel as soon as you walk in is very welcoming, especially on game nights at the bar. They are always busy so service may be a little slow at times, but you have to take in consideration how busy they are and how hard they're working. I have been eating here since they opened over 20 years ago and I have to say as a major sushi lover, this is the best sushi in the county, not just Gilroy! Their prices are the same as everywhere else but the portions are much more generous. They have a very wide selection and will also make any roll you can think of. Ninja is a family owned restaurant and they always greet everyone with a smile, service is great, the servers know us by now and always remember how we like our rolls. My husband and I have been eating here on and off for the last several years. The last two visits have been VERY disappointing. The fish wasn't fresh, the sushi rice was an overlooked mush and the rolls were drowned in really poor quality sauce. It seems they've been resting on their laurels because the food was terrible. I ordered the salmon and sashimi combo and my wife ordered the shrimp tempura combo. For starters the miso soup was warm but not hot and the flavor was a 4 on a scale of 1 to 10. The salmon had no flavor, but I guess you can't really do much with farmed salmon. My sashimi was very good but the salad, I have tasted better. My wife had the shrimp tempura and said it was very good but felt the soup and salad were a 3 on her scale. Other than that , the service was fine read more

venue is decent but the service is TERRIBLE! there was only 3 customers in the entire restaurant and the waitress forgot to bring our drinks and then we waited for 25 minutes to get our check after our meal. theres a new sushi place on camino arrroyo with awsome service better food but the prices are a tad higher, i'd pay more fir good service. read more
