I'm having a hard time understanding how, in a tourist town such as Vero beach, there's a .5 mile radius for delivery? I also asked about a gluten free/dairy free crust. person answering the phone said hold on, I'll check. Came back on the line and said, it's not dairy free, there's egg in it. Culinary lesson: Eggs come from chickens, dairy comes from cows, sheep and possibly goats. Not chickens. How can a restaurant answer like this? Look, they were super nice and the food was good when I picked it up one year ago, but i gave the EXACT same answer then. Perhaps they can educate the staff better on allergies? delicious food, great service, kind hearted people. Food: We ordered two salads and a hogi. The Salads, the Caesar was as expected great size for the price though, the steak salad was great nicely seasoned, and you get to choose your dressing 9/10, The hogi knocked it out of the park great toppings add your own mayo, evenly toasted. Service: Came out with in 10 minutes, server was sweet and consistent, kept checking on us and accommodated to my elderly aunt with a walker. Afterwards the new owner came out to us and talked to us personally, very sweet. The Ambiance of the restaurant is nice, good booths, outside seating and new tables when you walk inside. read more

Me and my friends went to get pizza after a day on the beach. We just wanted to enjoy a pizza together. But were denied service because we had no shirts. Not a single sign in sight. Would't even let us eat outside. Ordered our pizza then kicked out. Very rude owner. Should be disgraced to own a shop on the beach and kick us out for no shirt. One waiter even made fun of us by telling us we will never be able to get girlfriends. Some of the hosts and other workers were very respectful. They should have been the ones running it. read more

Our family has come to vero every year for the last 18 years, and our first night in we always choose dinner at Nino's. Well, unfortunately this year, that tradition ended. Contrary to their online and posted sign, they are NOT open until 10pm on a Friday evening. Our family, along with 3 or 4 other families who tried to enter at 9pm and we're rudely greeted by a waitress passing by with drinks in hand who stated "you know we close at 9pm, right?".... To which we replied "we did not know that, and according to your sign and website you don't close til 10." A very nice young man came around the corner and proceeded to say they could do take out though. While deciding if we wanted to proceed with the take out option, another waitress approached the counter and rudely informed us that it has been that way for years. To which I replied "well, according to your signage, it says 10, and if it's been years, it should be updated", I also stated that we had been visiting Nino's for over 18 years and have never had a bad interaction until tonight. After the exchange of words, I asked for a manager, and per the waitress, she claimed "she was his best employee he had, and that I didn't want to meet the manager." To which I replied "if he hires people Like you, you're probably correct!" Because of this interaction Nino's lost the business of 3+ families who just walked out and did not even consider take out. It saddens us that this was our experience, and even more so that if they keep employees like that, they may not be serving Vero much longer. read more

I was eating the fried ravioli with a side of meat sauce. As I was consuming the last one, I felt tugging from the meat sauce after I dipped my ravioli as if there was a string. I then discovered a long hair in the meat sauce and had to dispose of all the food due to contamination. I don't mean to be negative but this was not appealing . read more

We have been coming to Nino's for the last 25 years. The food was always good. Over the years the service got pretty bad and we stayed away for a few years. Decided to give it another go and sure enough, we picked up right where we left off. The takeout is always, always wrong. Not all of the items were packed, items packed were wrong. When got home I called to tell them the order was wrong. Wanted me to drive back order. Sure, let me drive back over. It's not about the money, it's the aggravation. This time I'm done. I'm a jersey girl, so I take my pizza seriously. Ninos isn't a bad alternative. HOWEVER, I was disappointed when I ordered a Sicilian pie for $20 it was only 6 slices, not a whole pie. SO if you know north east pizza for being an 18" pie, these are more like personal sized. I ordered takeout, but it's Perfect spot right off the water though if you're stopping to grab some food post-beach - can't speak to the service quality. read more

The food was pretty decent, but the portions were weird - plenty of lettuce for the salad, but when palm hearts are listed as a main ingredient of a salad, I expect more than 2 slices. It would be nice if Nino's took advantage of its proximity to the ocean to serve good pizza to beach goers. Unfortunately, as a pizza lover, I can say with certainty that this place has some of the most flavorless pizza I've ever tried. Tasteless. It looks like pizza but is not very satisfying. Even the crust is tasteless. My guess is that it has to do with the ingredients. Don't be deceived by the fact that the place is always busy and gets great reviews. They do serve some pasta and some meat dishes which I have not tried. But basically this is a below average pizza parlor. Our family really likes this place! We get it at least once every time we stay in Vero. My go to is the white pizza, the kids just get basic cheese or bacon. The Alfredo is super tasty, and we add chicken to that. The chicken is super good and it's actual chicken breast, not little chunks of chicken. The bread that comes with the pasta is super addicting, so be careful! read more

We came for a late lunch. We ordered the Brochette Buratta which looked and tasted amazing. My wife had the Mediterranean Pizza which was excellent and a had the Stromboli which was great. Portions were large; we left with food boxes, too stuffed to try the desserts. Service was prompt, attentive, and friendly. We'll be back. read more

Nino's Cafe- Vero Beach- 3.75-Stars There are several things I was told to avoid,from my consultants with decades of experience in the restaurant business, before I set out to review every place in the Tri-County area, one I have covered in a previous review (that being the last customer sat before closing), this time I happened to take care of another scenario that should be avoided and that was being the first patron in the door and at a table. However, when you have been in this business for over 30 years, I expect things like that to have no repercussions on the service nor the quality of hash being slung in the kitchen. If this was the day after St. Patrick's day I could understand everyone walking around in a fog, as it was not, I could not. It seemed that everyone working in the place was sleepwalking this early into their shift. I could only hope the kitchen staff was wide-eyed and bushy tailed. Watching everyone shuffle around attending to their opening tasks, I noticed one human on their cell phone. With an order pad and pen, I assumed she was the waitress and so I timed her. 4 minutes later, she ended her call and approached my table introducing herself as Mary. I get it that for the most part humans are self-centered and everyone's time is just as important as everyone else's, however, when you choose to enter into the service industry in any capacity dealing with the general public, my time, as part of the said public, is more important than yours. Be that as it may, I was a tad disgruntled when taking the advice of my followers, I stayed away from the non-Italian offerings and placed my order for the BBDO Italian place measuring stick, the ever popular Veal Parmigiana and also one Sausage, Peppers and Onion Sub Sandwich. Resigned to a long wait given the speed, I had witnessed among the staff, I was pleasantly surprised to see Mary returning within an acceptable amount of time (especially keeping in mind that I was the first diner of the day). The Veal Parmigiana was nothing to write home about, nor was it garbage. It may have been a basic representation of this classic dish, but at least it was easily edible unlike the gutter food served at Aunt Louise's in Sebastian. The pasta was a perfect al dente and the sauce was on par with the Veal Cutlet. The accompanying Garlic Stick was warm, soft, buttery and ever so garlicky. The side salad was a hybrid of Romaine and Iceberg and was topped with Sysco's finest imitation Blue Cheese food product. Forging ahead through the unpalatable aftertaste, one gets from tasting industrialized fake blue cheese dressing (yes, the cheese might be real, but who puts all that other crap in a homemade dressing?) I took a bite of the Sausage, Peppers and Onions Hot Sub Sandwich. Honestly, I should have quit at the dressing. The roll itself was not made on site and obviously cheap as it tasted like so much Elmer's glue and lacked any crispiness to the crust one gets in freshly baked sandwich rolls. The sausage itself was pre-cut, frozen Sysco chunks and tasted exactly as one would surmise. The peppers were obviously not fresh as they tasted like they had been processed, the rub here is that the sub as a whole was executed properly. This told me immediately it wasn't the cook who was responsible for this low-grade prefabricated Sysco slop, it was the owners. Compared with the bulk of "Italian" restaurants I have patronized this was slightly above average. Nothing spectacular and nothing horrid just run of mill burn em and turn em high profit low quality grub prepared perfectly. Tried a few other baked selections from the menu...nothing stood out at either good or bad. Marinara not impressive. Garlic rolls were deliciously soft and hot. This is a neighborhood joint - you know, that local Italian place with honest to goodness Italian. Loved the garlic rolls, and the salad had a great home made dressing.
