Was craving pizza and decided to lunch here. Place was a bit dark and emptied. Ordered at the counter and decided to dine-in. My slice of Mushroom pizza was really good (could be a little hotter though), and I thoroughly enjoyed my slice. The dough was a bit thicker than I'm used to from other pizzerias and the slice had less sauce. The regular slice pizza also tasted okay- with just the right amount of cheese- could be a little hotter though. Overall, liked the pizza will come back soon.

    Maybe will try again

I appreciate all the pizzerias surviving through the pandemic. I love pizzas. My whole family loves pizza. We used to live by Lenny's... and they make killer pizzas... I love them. So, I can't help but compare my new hood's offering. Papa Mikes isn't exactly close by but they delivered to us and I appreciate that. The distance definitely played a role.. because wasn't as hot. We got a half pepperoni and half cheese. It was OK. My kids didn't love it either... they felt the crust was a bit... chewy... and too greasy, so - not great. We might try again... maybe we'll just pick it up ourselves. Who knows.. might make a difference. Eat a pizza! #yelplife

I live in the area, saw the great reviews on yelp, saw that they had brick oven pizza and I was very excited to give them a shot. Decided to order for delivery and was disappointed. Toppings were missing, and the pizza sauce was kinda sweet - which isn't bad but not what I am used to. The pizza tasted good - however there was an ABSURD amount of RAW powdered flour underneath the entire pie... I've never experienced something like this in all my years of eating pizza... Maybe they were having an off night... I'd like to think this was what happened....It was a Monday. But idk if I will order again.

    Garlic knots

My family has visited this pizzeria for decades. We live down the block and came here whenever my brother or I wanted some pizza, spaghetti, rice ball, garlic knots, or anything else. We've been a customer since their old location next door, but they renovated this new location and reopened here. I used to LOVE their garlic knots because of how flavorful and cheap they were. However, I was really disappointed this time. The garlic knots were dry and flavorless. There was a minimal amount of garlic on each garlic knot and tasted like bread knots instead. The only saving factor was the tomato sauce on the side. I don't remember the garlic knots here to be like this. They used to be covered in delicious garlicky oil and parsley. And you would actually be able to see garlic pieces! As a longtime customer, I really want to see Papa Mike's improve and do well. Hopefully, this is just a one-time mishap and not a recurring thing.

Googled Brock oven pizza because k was in the neighborhood and love brick oven. Pizza is very tasty, perfect amount of sauce taste so fresh and authentic. Crust nice and soft don't even need to add seasoning.

I've lived by Papa Mike's my whole life but never tried their pizza until tonight! I had the grandma pie, pepperoni pizza, and fried ravioli (not pictured). The fried ravioli was everything I could ask for: crispy, flavorful, and cheesy. Wow! I'm impressed. Another thing that really stood out to me was how great their red sauce is! It gets all the notes of sour and tart perfectly. I'll definitely visit again & would recommend it!

I made a rare trip into Bensonhurst recently and I discovered Papa Mike's. They have been in business for fifty years, and you won't last that long unless you are doing something right. I ordered two Grandma slices and a soda and enjoyed a delicious lunch. Papa Mike's has a pay on the way out policy which is extremely rare these days. Is there is better Pizza in Brooklyn? Yes, but not close by.

    Grandma slice was delicious!

The grandma slice was pretty good but the other pizza was not up to par. The regular pizza was a little doughy and not as much flavor. The grandma slice had a nice crunch to it and hit the spot. Come here for that.

    Buffalo Chicken Pizza

The best Buffalo Chicken pizza around town, and if not the best I've had. I've had plenty of great buffalo pizzas, but this one is just the right amount of everything and the quality of their chicken is great. I'm also not a fan of Blue cheese/ranch with my pizza.

Mike still makin pizza like he's done for 30+ years!

Best in the neighborhood. Pride of ownership with Mike still behind the counter flipping pizzas! Still as good as a remember it 30 years ago as a young kid. Go to Mike's, get some great pizza and chat a while. Enjoy!

Cash only, BYOB (with rules depending on how many people), and a time limit on the table. Know what you want when you sit down. Menu is easy, pizza, calzones, sometimes pasta. Simple. Is it worth waiting in line for - maybe - if you have 2-3 hours free and nothing else to do and it's a nice day, sure. But honestly can't say I am running back to do it again. Waiting in line to get added to a waitlist that still doesn't always guarantee you will sit down to eat at the requested time - we were seated 40 mins after checking in (unusually long, never had more then 20 mins or so in past visits) but still a strange system, keeps the spot exclusive I'd guess. Have visited several times and always have had a good meal and the prices are very fair. Seating is not super comfortable and they pack you in for real, the restaurant is also unnecessarily dark and loud - But not in a bad way? I can't explain it but the very delicious pizza makes up for the weird ambiance and all the rules... definitely something to experience atleast once.

I've eaten here, come to the Bushwick Block Party to see Action Bronson perform, and spent enough time around Tiki Disco to associate the place with a particularly inventive, free-spirited period in the neighborhood. The dining area still has that wonderfully idiosyncratic character: exposed beams, communal tables, mismatched details, and an open kitchen turning out genuinely excellent pizza. What impresses me most is how naturally Roberta's became more than a restaurant. Food, music, parties, outdoor spaces, and an extraordinary mix of people all seemed to converge here, giving the place a cultural gravity that could never have been designed by committee. It remains one of those places that instantly takes me back to my bachelor years and an especially fun chapter of my time in the city, when Bushwick felt endlessly creative, and Roberta's seemed to sit comfortably at its center. Sending my highest recommendation!

Got a TGTG order here. 11/10 I'd do it again…read more Brooklyn DOP actually originated as a pandemic business where my friend's personal trainer started baking pizzas outside of his Greenwood Heights apartment. When the hype got large enough, the owner decided to start a pizzeria and the rest is not history. This is one of the more worthwhile TGTG orders to me. Their pizza is SOOO perfectly crisp and charred, and actually is one of the closest pizzas that reminds me of the famous originals in Napoli.

Brooklyn DOP is a prime example of what happens when a pandemic lockdown, a dough obsession, and an…read moreinability to sit still all collide. We visited as a stop on Scott's Pizza Bus Tour, which meant we were actively evaluating it against some of the best pizza in the city. Evaluating pizza on a tour is tricky because excellence becomes relative when you are eating multiple high-end pies in a single afternoon. According to Scott, Brooklyn DOP began in founder Thomas Ardito's apartment during the 2020 lockdowns. With his primary work on pause, he started baking pizza and selling pies through Instagram to pay his rent. People kept ordering. His friend Jason D'Amelio joined the effort, and what started as an apartment project turned into pop-ups and eventually a brick-and-mortar shop on 5th Avenue in Park Slope. That is a considerably more compelling origin story than a corporate franchise business plan. The setup in Park Slope includes a quiet back courtyard, which offered a comfortable spot for our group to sit, eat, and recover between stops. It feels relaxed and distinctly Brooklyn without trying too hard to remind you where you are. The pizza itself is very good. The crust strikes a proper balance between a crisp bottom and a chewy interior. The toppings are handled with care, from the crushed tomatoes to the fresh mozzarella. This is dough crafted by people who take fermentation seriously rather than relying on pre-packaged shortcuts. On its own merits, the pizza is a solid 4.5 stars. Unfortunately for Brooklyn DOP, it was competing on a tour against places operating on another plane. It is an excellent pie, but it was not the single slice that caused the entire tour to fall silent in collective awe. Still, that is an aggressive standard to hold against any local shop. Brooklyn DOP offers a great courtyard, a serious approach to dough, and a standout product. Landing just shy of five stars says far more about the sheer volume of elite pizza we ate that day than it does about the shop itself. Four stars. And if you are not spending the afternoon riding around New York with Scott Wiener eating pizza at some of the finest pizza joints the 5 boroughs have to offer, you can probably bump that half-star back up.
