Isn't a big deal, I call the restaurant hoping to get their attention for removal from shelves and resolution. My slice of Mushroom pizza was really good (could be a little hotter though), and I thoroughly enjoyed my slice. I appreciate all the pizzerias surviving through the pandemic. I love pizzas. My whole family loves pizza. We used to live by Lenny's... and they make killer pizzas... I love them. So, I can't help but compare my new hood's offering. Papa Mikes isn't exactly close by but they delivered to us and I appreciate that. The distance definitely played a role.. because wasn't as hot. We got a half pepperoni and half cheese. It was OK. My kids didn't love it either... they felt the crust was a bit... chewy... and too greasy, so - not great. My family has visited this pizzeria for decades. We live down the block and came here whenever my brother or I wanted some pizza, spaghetti, rice ball, garlic knots, or anything else. We've been a customer since their old location next door, but they renovated this new location and reopened here. I used to LOVE their garlic knots because of how flavorful and cheap they were. However, I was really disappointed this time. The garlic knots were dry and flavorless. There was a minimal amount of garlic on each garlic knot and tasted like bread knots instead. The only saving factor was the tomato sauce on the side. I don't remember the garlic knots here to be like this. They used to be covered in delicious garlicky oil and parsley. And you would actually be able to see garlic pieces! As a longtime customer, I really want to see Papa Mike's improve and do well. Very bad service. The place is run by mike himself who is a very unkind and mean man. He can be seen berating old women who ask for cups of water to take their pill while theyre paying customers. Each time I have tried delivery the food comes drastically wrong or half missing. They attempted to scam once by not delivering, claiming they were closed but didnt shut the site and then saying they refunded but didnt. The bank investigated and decided they were fraud and said it happens a lot. My wife said they were good and my father in law says he picks up often so we tried but its a lost cause. I've had better, I'm not going to lie and sugar coat this review. Papa Mikes isn't terrible by any stretch, it's just not up to par with some of the great spots in the area. I used to go here a lot years ago, and I recently went back for dine-in while waiting for my dogs to be groomed up the block. It looks great inside! It's spacious with plenty of tables and a nice brick walls. The brick oven is an attractive centerpiece when you walk in. The family is still busting their hump in the back and the workers are friendly and fast. It's hard to talk negative about a place that has so many positives, but then you get to the pizza. I'll focus on three different slices I've had recently: Their Sicilian is OK, a bit too greasy for my liking but at least the cheese was not rubbery and the dough was cooked well. It was just ok. Their fresh mozzarella was pretty bad, the cheese did not mesh well with the watery tomato sauce underneath and it was just overall not good. Their buffalo chicken slice on the other hand is very good, consistent all around with not too much grease and flavors that were pleasing! You are not travelling to go to Papa Mikes, if it's the closest place for you then there's nothing wrong with going but it's probably not a number one option for anyone. read more

I have never been to a more beautiful local pizzeria in Brooklyn. This place has exposed brick and sandstone walls, flat screen TVs, a beautifully illuminated kitchen and storefront, and a venue for events next door that looks like it could be a Manhattan bar/club. Papa Mike is a mature gentleman who still works the late hours serving his food with a smile. The pizza tastes great. Not quite my new #1 pizza place, but certainly ranking. The garlic knots were not my favorite because they're not as fluffy as I like, but they taste great. I really enjoyed the sweetness of the sauce that he uses in his pizza and gave us a cup of for dipping the garlic knots. That sweetness denotes a connoisseur, a person who cares about his ingredients and doesn't let ingredient prices determine his recipe. Many pizzerias serve acidic or bitter sauce which is probably much cheaper because of the canning process utilized. The sauce differentiates this pizza. I'm a huge fan of it. I certainly recommend giving Papa Mike's a try for yourself. read more

I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone! Horrible, horrible food. The only reason they are getting one star is because the delivery happened in the estimated delivery window. I bought a $1.25 can of sprite, got a Ginger Ale. I was supposed to get two sodas, and only got one. I'm just amazed that not only did they forget the quantity of sodas, but forgot the type I asked for. It gets worse. The "cheese breadsticks" are just cheap and awful smelling American Cheese slices molten onto bread. The "garlic knots" are small twists of dough with very artificial (and god knows what it really was) garlic sprinkled on top. I had also ordered a cheeseburger with fries and soda. If you absolutely MUST order from this restaurant, please avoid the cheeseburger deluxe entirely. They didn't include a soda, the fries are stale and cold, and the burger has no cheese, is super dry and chewy for some reason, and cold.The mozzarella sticks smelled like week old oil, were super fried to the point where it was like biting into a thin wooden stick. Finally, the mozzarella sticks. I ended up throwing away the entire meal for the fear of getting sick from eating it all. I just couldn't understand why the food smelled so terrible, it was like something out of kitchen nightmares!! I wish I could get my money back, but will know to avoid this restaurant in the future. update: two hours after having eaten some of the food, I'm suffering from diarrhea. ZERO STARS!!! :( read more

They've been around for a while in the neighborhood, and I think I know why they're such a success: besides serving tasty pizza, they're very friendly and generous. Frequent customers greet them like close friends, and when I ordered a bunch of garlic knots for a party, they threw in extras and some sauce for dipping. How could you not love that? :) The place also looks much better than most old pizza places that has been around. Tables and chairs are big and comfortable. The television is always on. I hate to upset or disagree with my fellow yelpers. Maybe we were at the pizza place at a wrong time. Went there y'day on our way home. We ordered two regular slices as we were excited to discover a brick oven pizza place not very far from us. Papa Mike was there behind the counter and I found him to be sweet and friendly. The place is absolutely spic and span. However, digging our first bites in the slice left a lot to be desired. The slices were stale, flavorless and without any salt or seasoning. I have been a regular at Mike's since early childhood. When I first started going there they had just about three items: A Square, A Round, and Ices! As I have come of age, so has (Papa) Mike's Pizza. They now have a nice variety of pasta dishes, sandwiches, burgers, riceballs, etc. What I really like about mike's are the variety of new pizzas they carry. The new ideas are great, while keeping the originals still to a high standard. The new renovations are really nice, with the new brick oven and the staff is always nice.
