I attended this restaurant for a group party. The food was great and they offered a 4 course meal. Staff was friendly but the only downside for a group event is you don't actually get your own room. Came here for the first time recently for lunch and we were surprised at how delicious everything was! I had a panini that was great, and the panini bread was amazing. We also ended up ordering dessert which we typically never do but the waiter brought a tray by to show us everything they had and we couldn't resist. We had the espresso creme brulee and it was honestly so delicious I wish I could have ordered a bucket full of it to go, and the little design was so cute. After having a family dinner, the bill came with an extra charge that had no reference on the menu. We politely asked to return the money. The shift manager came out and with a lot of hesitation he handed the extra charge in cash (not including the taxes.) The Credit Card bill remained the same. The tips were left on the table for the waiter, in cash. As soon as we walked out of the front door, the manger rushed to us informing that the tip was not enough, according to him. He cursed "F..U" and thru the cash on the ground outside of the restaurant. This is outrageous!!!! First he left the waiter without the tips; second he cursed after we paid the bill in full; and he threatened that he will charge extra to the credit card (in the amount he thinks is OK) after we were out of the restaurant. decided to try this place out, it's close from home. we got right in. they gave us bread to start, it wasn't hot, kinda cold. we started with the calamari which had a good flavor but they barely gave us any and it was kinda undercooked. shrimp raviolis were okay, wasn't the best. service was good and the restaurant itself was nice. next time if I go back i'll try the pizza. read more

I went to this restaurant with my boyfriend after adventures exploring Jersey. The entire area was limited on food and Ninuzzo Trattoria came up on my search with great ratings. On Sunday at 6, there was only other table and awkwardly silent. The restaurant smelled of strange mildew. We order muscles in white sauce for an appetizer. The sauce was so salty that we sent it back. They did remove this from our check. I figured you can't really go wrong with Shrimp Scampi and my boyfriend who is Italian ordered the, Del Mare, chef's special. The shrimp scampi tasted disgusting and felt like the people made it never tasted scampi in their life as the sauce was totally off. My boyfriend's plate was just as disappointing with overcooked seafood that clearly came from a frozen bag and not fresh. We also asked if they had a drink menu and was told BYOB. They'll send you a bunt pizza with so much cheese on it that it's a choking hazard. There's no excuse for it.

Never have I had a more shocking experience in an establishment. My family and I went to this restaurant following my uncles funeral service nearby. We were looking forward to enjoying a meal together and relaxing a little bit. The server brought us 8 Poland spring bottles, we nicely asked about tap water and then were told bottled was the only option - at an outrageous price of $3 a piece. We said we didn't want bottled water due to the cost and the plastic waste. We had water in the car so we got that water for ourselves. A few moments later the owner/manager came out and aggressively said we were not welcome and that they would not serve us. My grandmother retorted that we had just come from a funeral and did he really want us to leave - to which he replied yes. He was not interested in any conversation with us. Had he said we had to pay for the water we likely would have obliged. We then left and went to a different place and had a wonderful experience. My wife and I visited for our anniversary dinner. This is a BYOB place so we chose to bring our favorite Malbec. They start you off with a fresh baked Italian bread loaf which is layers with garlic and oil. There's also their signature bread & Italian sauce served warm. We started off with an appetizer of Eggplant Rolatini. They give you 2 portions for sharing, loaded with mozzarella cheese over thinly sliced and breaded eggplant--- all stuffed with ricotta cheese. For my main dish, I had Pollo John Luca which is a chicken breast with 3 jumbo shrimp on the side in a marsala like sauce. Topped with thick stalks of asparagus, sliced whole potatoes with skin on and artichokes. My wife had the vodka rigatoni. Large portions----enough for 2 meals each which is why we ended up with doggie bags. read more

To make this short, i stopped after seeing red stars on their yelp review. Went inside, place was dead, and asked if they made calzones. Answer was yes, but they wouldnt let me eat in the dining room. I asked why and the server said its their policy. I wanted the veal parm and calamari also, but since they wouldnt let me sit down and eat, i decide not to order anything else but the calzone from takeout window. I told the lady I was gonna eat the calzone outside and asked for plates and utensils. She walked out the calzone to me and told me I was not allowed to eat it outside on their tables. Are you kidding. That was at least a $40 dollar mistake and she lost a nice tip. Oh well, i will never stop there again. And the calzone was blah! read more

So, talk about finding a treasure in the middle of nowhere. My partner and I are building a home in the area (lovely pastoral setting with horse farms and open fields) and were worried that we would not be able to find really decent Italian food (non-chain) close by. We were soooo wrong, this restaurant has all the right combinations. First the restaurant has a very quaint and clean ambiance. Second, the staff is very attentive and pleasant. Third, but most importantly, the food is phenomenal. We are both Italian born and really enjoy good food, and the meals here never disappoint. The appetizers are a fantastic start to your meal, with many different variations on some common themes. They have an appetizer salad called "Berry and Twigs" which is very refreshing! Their version of Fried Mozzarella is delicious and a staple on our order. The pasta dishes are inventive, firm, fresh and well portioned. The meat dishes are eclectic, nicely prepared and presented and always fresh. The seafood is often inventive and daily caught. One thing never to be missed is the specials, they are so creative and tasty, I find myself with inner conflict each time we go there for lunch or dinner (which is almost 2x a week lately). Sometimes we will order a special and still order a regular dish just so we don't miss out. Take home bags are common in our home! Finally, I would be remiss not to mention the dessert tray. They have a set selection of really stand up desserts, but then they always mix in some specials. Again... Inner conflict. My advice.. Go soon and go often. read more

Ninuzzo is a level above the rest and in a class of elite Italian restaurants in the area. A very homey feel from the decor and color scheme and lighting. Great presentation across the whole board. But the food... Oh the food. No dish that I have had hasn't been amazing. Everything from their surf to turf is freshly made, eloquently seasoned/sauced, and portioned right. I had to double back to add some disappointment. The grilled chicken was pretty gross with tendons or ligaments throughout the cut. So bad that I had to finger pick out the edible meat. I always have to make a stop here every time I'm in the area. It's one of my favorite places. I usually end up coming here after stopping at Cream Ridge or Laurita winery. The food is always excellent. I'm partial to the Vitello zio sal and get that every time, but I have tried many of their other things as well and have always enjoyed them. If you read my posts you will see I am very critical of restaurants. My wife and I found this little gem in a strip mall. We walked in and were greeted by a very warm gentleman who I suspect was the owner. The place had s few patrons and we were seated immediately. The decorating and atmosphere was very nicely done. The wait staff immediately came to our table with water and fresh hot baked garlic bread. Unfortunately the waiter took a little while to return for our order. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer, I had the chicken allesio which was absolutely phenomenal and my wife had the linguini and white clam sauce which she enjoyed very much. The portions were plentiful and left us too full for dessert. I recommend this place highly for a nice sit down dinner. They also have a smaller side of the restaurant that is a pizza and sandwich menu. read more

Let me first say that the food here has been delicious the four times we visited. Normally prices are very reasonable too so with that combo we're willing to make the 40 minute drive here. However tonight they're serving a limited "Christmas Menu" charging 1/3 extra for the same meal. $20 meals are now $30. At this point we're already here so we order even at the inflated prices. My meal isn't the right one but I eat it anyway. We were given kids menus to order from which stated kids meal + dessert is included for $7. When we asked about dessert we were told not included tonight (even though it was on the menu THEY HANDED US). Ok, fine the kids can live without dessert and we didn't make a stink about it. Bill comes out and it's $15 for each kids meal. Kids pasta with butter for $15? Chicken tenders $15? Are we in Times Square? Gosh, even Disney doesn't gouge at this intensity. We also notice that we are charged extra for the soups. Normally here you have a choice between salad or soup with dinner and we were given that choice once again tonight. And yet when we asked about the $21 charge for soup we were told only the salad was included in the price. ***looks around for the hidden camera** Not a good way to do business. If it were a holiday I could understand the more expensive/limited menu. It's a few days before Christmas, folks; not Christmas Day. Thanks for trying to rip off your loyal customers. I'm sorry but the staff at the take out window needs to learn some manners. I was made to wait while the person at the counter learned how to load my order in to their system. I was asked for my phone number at a counter and after giving the order three times was told By someone else simply they wouldn't put veggies on my sandwiches the way I wanted. I was simply dismissed and left. There are so many other businesses that are respectful and not rude like this one in the area, and I strongly suggest you skip these guys and go to one of the others. We found this restaurant on Yelp & it's high rating was absolutely spot on. The homemade bread was amazing, the Pasta e fagiola was creamy & noodles were made in restaurant, and the house salad had fresh vegetables. The entree's were good sized & at a good price. We had broccoli Rabbe & Pollo Cordon Blue & both were so flavorful. Even the roasted potatoes seemed to have a touch of truffle oil that was a pleasant surprise. We don't live near this restaurant but we will definitely drive here again just to try it again...and again! read more

Food is good but service is horrible. We have tried it twice and can't return. Last night we sat at 6:30 PM and requested at 8:10 to wrap our dinners when they were done. Over and hour and a half waiting for entree. setvice is terrible and after waiting 40 minutes AFTER our apps we had enough. We will not be returning. The place was not busy and no excuse for the long delay. I was hoping the first time we waited over an hour for our meal it was just a bad night. It wasn't. Ordered a black olive pizza off their website. When it was delivered it had the wrong olives. I called and the manager said we don't have black olives, now I was out a pizza and dinner. I figured I would give the benefit of the doubt and try to order through them again. I ordered a cheesesteak sub. On their website it said cheesesteak hoagie. Where I am from a hoagie is just another name for a sub. When it was delivered it had lettuce, tomatoes and red onions on it. When I called they said I should have known and that I was my fault. I did not ask for anything extra on my cheesesteak. Every time I called to see if I could get a remake they manager would always put it back on me and say it was my fault. There are plenty of other places that have great customer service and better food. read more

Maybe all made from canned sauces ? Portions were big and prices were decent, but food just didn't taste good. This used to be a good place to eat. Went last night expecting a nice dinner, but left very disappointed. Zuppa di Pesce in wine sauce had no flavor at all. The shrimp were the only good part of the dish. Had to add a lot of grated cheese to make it edible. Veal Ossobucco was very small and tasted like grease. $75.00 for two entrees that were tasteless.
