Phil's takeout has been around for a long time but switched owners since the last time I visited. It's takeout only with a small grocery section of staples like eggs, condiments, dry pasta and half gallons of ice cream. I saw they recently added some new items to the menu and decided to order some pasta dinners. Nothing fancy but the pasta was cooked well, Alfredo sauce flavorful and portions were large. The homemade rolls were huge! I noticed they had some specialty pizza by the slice during my last visit and decided to grab some slices tonight. They were delicious. The rectangle slice has a thin flavorful crust. The sauce was perfectly fresh and the fresh mozzarella had that slightly sweet milky taste I love. The chicken slice was also good with tender chunks and lots of Parmesan cheese. I will definitely return to try other meals. read more

My family and I have been going to Phil's for years before they switched owners and they've always had good food. Now that they have new owners I think the food continues to be excellent and I tried the tacos tonight for the first time. They were very tasteful and filling, I was so pleased and I absolutely recommend! I will definitely be trying their other Spanish/Mexican food in the future! read more

First time back since the original was sold. You would think @ 5pm they would have fresh pizza slices available. The ones they had were not great looking. Took a plain slice to heat at home. Asked if they had anything else available to take home, they offered Pupusas 3 diff ones. I said sure I would try that out. They also offered tamales.....which I love. Well, they should call the Pupusas "PooPoosa's" because that's what it made me do. Although the salsa verde that came with it was great! The tamale although it was large had a strange texture and did not smell right. The pizza was bland. They are not Phil's anymore - sorry to say. read more

Stopped in after a day at Six Flags. (Never eat at the amusement park. Ever.) A 10-minute drive down lovely country roads brought us to Phil's takeout. They're not kidding: there's no indoor seating, but there are some (rickety) picnic tables outside. Kid got a couple slices of pizza, and she found the crust to be a great level of thinness and crispness. I got a cold salami and capicola sub, which was fresh and on delicious bread but didn't wow me. We shared a giant cookie that I thought was merely ok (because I'm not a fan of crunchy cookies). Stopped here based on the reviews as we were headed back to the highway and were starved. Figured it was close enough to Philly to chance it so I had the cheesesteak with lettuce and tomato on a toasted sub. It was delicious. Great size too. Nearly every bite had meat in it. Great find. read more

I have a customer near here so I have been here several times. The cold subs/hoagies are great with fresh deli cuts. The pizza is OK, just your typical NY/NJ pizza, great for a craving. The dinner plates are pretty nice too. I've had spaghetti and meatballs, also veal parmesan. Both hit the spot. I will continue to visit here! read more

A lot of times while I'm working, I'm at the mercy of where I can park... I found this place yesterday and was pretty satisfied with what I found inside. They serve breakfast, meals, sandwiches, salads, desserts, pizza, and they bake their own rolls. I chose to go with a basic hoagie just to play it safe. I also got a container of cole slaw. Both we're good. My first choice would've been a meatball parm sandwich. I passed on it and got the cold sandwich. I have a thing about ordering meatballs, only to find out that I was served some frozen crap on a roll.. On my way out I asked if their meatballs were homemade.. The young lady said that everything there is made in house.... Good enough for me. And I just happen to be going back to this out of the way town again tomorrow. So I guess I'll have e a chance to try the meatballs tomorrow afternoon.... The first impression was good enough to come back again. read more

Plenty of choices fast service and plenty of parking makes this a must stop for truckers. And we are happy to visit. Bacon egg and cheese with lettuce and tomato was a welcome suggestion. Tables outside for those nice cool fall days too. read more

Quality italian take-out and mini-market. Insanely good! I think they close at 7 pm and aren't open on Sundays, but this place is sweet. You don't know what you're missing if you haven't tried it. It's a ~10 minute drive from Allentown. I recommend the Fried flounder sandwich (amazing bread and probably one of my favorite all-time sandwiches), mussels marinara, and the pizza. read more

Moved to Texas a few years ago and man do I miss this place. Best homestyle Italian by far. Sandwiches great, fresh bread great and all the to go sauces seriously top notch. Marinara and vodka just as good as any homemade. I miss that fork tender veal; parm, marsala or pizzaiola were my go to. Shrimp fra diav another favorite during Lent. Don't miss the stuffed peppers which are not on menu so you have to ask. Everybody as friendly as can be too. Did I mention how much I miss it? read more

This place is a gem! If you're lucky enough to find it you're lucky enough! I loved my chicken Cesar wrap with salad for lunch and only $6.50. I saw lots of people leaving with a lot of take away. When asking the customers what's good they all said "everything!" I ordered a chicken parm dinner with pasta side to take home for dinner and it was delicious and one order was enough for 3 people. I've been hittin' Phil's for decades. It's one of the best places around that you can scrounge for change in your car, and get a ton of food - delicious food. My favs are the chicken and chips, chicken parm, and the vodka rig. I also like the meatball subs, and cheesesteak. I have friends who swear by the chicken florentine - I haven't tried that myself... but, they get it almost every time we order from Phil's. Steer clear of the chicken marsala. They just need a better marsala recipe, I think. The chicken is tender, the pasta is cooked well... and the portion is, of course, enormous. But, the sauce is watery. Sorry Phil, its true! The rest of the menu is consistently delish! Stop at Phil's for tasty italian goodies, that fill your tummy without emptying your wallet! read more

This neighborhood pizzeria has delicious food. I ordered 20 chicken rolls about an hour before they closed and they made them fresh for me. I took them to my tailgate with the homemade marinara sauce on the side. They were delicious and a huge hit. They have some tables but great for take out and reasonable prices. Must try! read more

Wow. I was on a road trip and was lucky to find Phil's in what I thought might be the middle of nowhere. Friendly service ("This is his first time...we'll be gentle.") and the best sausage peppers and potato (who knew?) sandwich I have ever had. Prices are ridiculously low. Our pick-up was ready when we arrived and we were approx. 7.5 miles away from this diamond in the rough. ALL enjoyed their meal, and we had (6) after moving our son into his new home. Prices are phenomenal! Its not just the pizza either, they offer a full range. Highly recommend to anyone in the area.

Been going to Phil's since he was a stainless steel truck stop diner in Robbinsville, NJ. You could sit at the counter for breakfast and see Phil in the kitchen stirring the sauce for dinner. At night, we would stand in line outside waiting for a booth, along with 20 other people. More on weekends. Back then it was BYOB. You brought 2 bottles of red wine. One to drink in line, the second for dinner. Was the food that good to wait for? Yup, and still is.! read more
