Every time I go to Nirvana Beauty & Brows, I am always satisfied, with my eyes ready to face the world. I go from looking like bert from sesame street to actually having normal eyebrows... I'm not exaggerating...but they really do an excellent job. Whenever I visit to San Francisco I go to this place (can't stop without going there).. The place is clean and cute staffs are very friendly. I've gone to other threading places they either didn't shape my brows properly or were too expensive. At Nirvana threading I can count on the staff taking their time and doing a perfect job each time. Love this place, owner (Rumi is the best) as well as other staff. And another important thing as a costumer Price is very cheap compare to their service. I bought a groupon for 3 eyebrow threadings at the lovely, low price of $20. I called the day of to schedule an appointment, and luckily the receptionist was kind about it since it was my first time visit and usually, they only accept appointments three days in advance with a 24-hour advance notice for any cancellations/rescheduling. I drove there after work, but unfortunately it took a while to find parking (there's meters right in front, parking garages nearby that only accept flat rate full day parking). I expected it though, since nirvana is located in the middle of the financial district! Busy place to be. I walked in the quaint shop, happy to find that it wasn't busy. Peaceful and quiet ambiance, very nice ladies. Sangita did my brows and (to my luck) it didn't hurt as bad as I expected :P she also did my upper lip for the good price of $7. She was awesome with her work, and very accommodating with the head massage and everything! I'm glad to say that this is one of my better experiences getting threaded. Parking isn't so great, but the salon itself is moderately priced and I was helped by lovely ladies - all in all, I'll be looking forward to plenty more future appointments here. read more

So still painful, but I told the woman doing my eyebrows that my wedding is next week, and she spent 45 minutes getting my brows absolutely perfect. She checked with me before shaping anything to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. The funny part though was that she kept apologizing for taking so long and then seemed surprised that I tipped so high. I got a Groupon and tried them out. My first visit was late December for eyebrows and upper lip. Kalpana worked fast and did my upper lip with the least amount of pain possible. I have very sensitive skin, and I'm used to mild irritation afterwards, but my skin after the session at Nirvana was only a faint pink. I was really surprised and pleased with the results! Kalpana also gave me a cold wet paper towel to help my skin settle; she dabbed lightly (NOT rubbed) which I appreciated very much. Sangita is a true professional and artist. I visited Nirvana for my first threading experience and it was great. I have very sensitive skin, but Sangita was fast and followed up my eyebrow and lip service with ice, witch hazel, aloe and a relaxing temple massage. I had a very good first experience at Nirvana Beauty and Brows. I work right around the corner from the salon, but had never noticed it before. I called to make an eyebrow wax appointment and they were able to take me 15 minutes later. The salon has a relaxing vibe with threading chairs downstairs, and a waxing/facial table upstairs. The two women working there were incredibly friendly. I'm not sure what kind of wax she used, but it was way better than what normally gets put on my face. The waxing was painless, and I even got a quick eyebrow/cheek massage. She was very thorough about getting the perfect shape and waxed in small sections. Their prices are very reasonable. However, the second time that I made an appointment, I showed up 5 minutes before my time and one of the women said that they were a bit behind schedule. I said no problem, thinking it was 5-10 minutes, and sat down. 15 minutes later, no one has said anything to me, and I start to get agitated. When I asked when my appointment was going to be, the woman informed me the the appointment before me had been almost 30 minutes late and they still kept her appointment! Not only that, but it was going to be about another 15-20 minute wait. I was pretty disappointed that they hadn't been upfront about it when I first came in, and that they thought it was appropriate to keep customers waiting that long even when they had an appointment. I ended up just leaving and they didn't even seem that apologetic about it. I now go to different waxing salon that is very diligent about keeping their appointment times. read more

I receive consistent results from Rumi with my eyebrows. I use to go to her when she was working at Stonestown and absolutely thrilled to have found her again. She has a gentle touch with threading and the space is very calming with the relaxing instrumental music they play. She offers ice or aloe after threading which I appreciate. read more

My eyebrows have never been so on fleek until today. Sangita is amazing and magical! The last time I had my eyebrows did was in 2012, 3 years ago. From then till now, I've been occasionally plucking my brows and even then it's been a few weeks or months since I've maintained them so yes my brows were bushy as heck today. I found a groupon deal and called in the morning for an appointment in the afternoon. Walked in during my break and there were a few people ahead of me. I've gotten my eyebrows waxed and threaded before. I personally prefer threading since it's so much cleaner. I had bought a groupon for one session eyebrow threading and I REGRET NOT getting more sessions! Sangita was excellent. I walked in early and she took me as soon as she finished her previous customer. I didn't have to say anything and she made my eyebrows natural, just the way I like it. She was super patient and careful. The best part is the little eyebrow massage at the end. Her English is a lot the hard to understand since she has a pretty thick accent but that's ok. I'm not much of a small talker anyways. I would definitely recommend this even if it is $15 a session. What can I say? Yelp CAME THROUGH!! I was desperately seeking a new place to thread and shape my eyebrows and found Nirvana. I used to go to an amazing girl but since moved away from her and she stopped threading altogether recently. I tried a few other places and they've been ok but not great. If you know me, you know that ok is not good enough for me. Went today and Rumi did amazing! I showed her some pictures of how my eyebrows used to look and she was very patient, listened and delivered a great job. We are going to work together to grow back areas which were butchered from the last lady... I am very picky about my eyebrows... I'm very excited about this shop. This place Rocks!! Eyebrow perfection every time! Rumi is amazing, I have never had anyone do a better job on my eyebrows. After the threading is done you get a little brow massage which is my favorite part ;). I'm seriously in love with this place. I rarely trust anyone with my eyebrows after a lot of disasters at others (and god knows I can't do my own brows). When I moved to San Francisco a few years ago. I found this place on yelp. Sangita is wonderful. They use to only have 2 chairs. Now they have 4. After threading they put aloe or ice on you. Plus you get a relaxing mini face/head massage after the threading session. On Thursday and Fridays they have happy hour for eyebrows and upper lip. I still come even if they don't have happy hour. Worth every dime and the staff is wonderful. This place is definitely my go to and I highly recommend this place to anyone I know! read more

Rumi was very kind and patient with a nervous threading first-timer like me. I asked for a very natural looking shape: Not altering my natural shape at all, just cleaning up the stray hairs around it. She managed that perfectly in less than 15 minutes! For people who've never done this before: It's mostly painless, but there are definitely some hairs that made water. Rumi offers to ice the red areas, and that helps a lot. She has a very soothing personality, and the salon has a very spa-like atmosphere. I'm now hooked on threading and will be going to Rumi for all my future brow needs. read more
