Stopped in to try out for some dinner. Good atmosphere when you walk in. Clean and pleasant and nicely decorated. Gives you a slight more upscale Mexican restaurant. It wasn't too busy but there were a few people in the restaurant. Got seated pretty quick. The girl that seated us got us chips and salsa right away. They give you a spicy and a mild. The spicy had a great flavor and is just the right amount of spice. The chips were fresh tasting. Then we wait. A total of 15 minutes. No greeting, no drinks, nothing. Had a couple waitress's walk by and look at us we sat there but nothing. Finally a waitress comes over and says can I get you something to drink? My husband asks if she's our waitress. She says yes with a little timid look and says, have you been waiting? I told her yes , for 15 minutes. She says she's so sorry, no one had told her we were her table. Ok we can understand that, we'll just start over from here. She takes our order. Then went back immediately got our drinks out right away. A good runner brought our food I'd say within minutes of our order being taken. It was very fast. So that leads me to the food. My husband got the ACP chicken plate. Bed of rice with chicken and cheese sauce over it. I got a traditional taco, corn tortilla with al Pastor, onion and cilantro. And a side of rice. All the food was very good but not very hot unfortunately. Overall I gave it a 4 because the people were pleasant and the food was good. Unfortunately the waitress whom I thought would do good, she never did come back after bringing our drinks. When we were done we finally were able to flag her down for the check. She did apologize again and said please don't hate me. That was a little bizarre. Anyways I would give them another chance. Their food is good. Hopefully this was a one off full of misunderstanding and embarrassment for our waitress. She seemed to be a sweet girl. read more

An after school dinner hit the spot for my kids. I was the last to try Nixtamal and was glad I did. The chips were fresh and the salsa mild. Our server was responsive and friendly and remembered my kids, who had been to eat here previously. I got the Birrieria tacos, they each had burritos. I can't remember exactly which ones they had but they are picky eaters and devoured them. The music was a little loud for my liking but the food made up for it. read more

The chips and salsa were tasty, light yet crispy with both mild and spicy salsa. It was excellent. We also had fresh made guacamole which was flavorful, creamy, and delicious. Unfortunately, our main courses came and they were cold. The rice and beans were so cold we had to send them back. The tacos were barely warm. The fajitas were actually hot. The restaurant was much too noisy inside for us to sit indoors so we sat on the patio, which was nice except for the constant road noise, sirens, and firetrucks. Yikes. We have been here several times. Loved it every time except today. Chips? Old, oily, foul tasting. Tomato butt in the food. No one wants that. Odd fried bits that were hard as anything don't belong in the food either. Camarones con arroz more like "que es eso"? If this was my first time, it would have been my last. Although the atmosphere was quaint at Bridgeway Station, the food lacked interest. In fact, my taco salad was nothing but shredded chicken (that had an awful aftertaste) with 3 small leaves of red lettuce, a dab of guacamole, 2 tiny tomato chips, and a small amount of refried beans on the bottom served in a taco bowl-which was the only thing worth eating. My husband, my friend and her husband weren't impressed. We won't be back to this restaurant. read more

Food was delicious! That don't have any tamales though but they do have lots to choose from. I have the lava chimichanga it's new and delicious. My husband had steak quesadillas and they were also awesome. We did see many other things we would like to try. We also had a flight of margaritas. They were all good one was as good as the next. Ambiance was excellent and it was very clean. Service was great but soon they fill up and had to call more staff in but they did an excellent job keeping up. Will definitely go back! Ate lunch here last week with my wife and was not impressed. I should say up front that I was excited to try this place as I really appreciate good Mexican food (having moved here from South Texas). In other words, i REALLY wanted to like this place, but... I had chicken enchiladas that looked absolutely wonderful when it arrived. However, the chicken was a bit dry and (most importantly) had very little flavor. The server was extremely nice but she didn't check on is after bringing the food so we eventually had to flag her down to get something we needed. Tried the new Nixtamal location in Greer - we had a great experience with their takeout first and decided to go try it in person. The inside is clean with casual ambience and the staff were helpful and attentive. We tried the dip trio- our favorite was the guacamole. It was very fresh and flavorful. They also do table side guacamole which looked great! The chips tasted fresh and were really crispy which was great. The mild salsa they brought was a bit bland but the spicier salsa was pretty good. The cheese dip was good but a bit lukewarm and very thick - I think we're just used to a thinner queso dip at most Mexican restaurants. But it had good flavor! The 3rd in trio was their signature which was just the cheese dip with some ground meat and pico de gallo mixed in - it was good too but way more cheese dip than we could eat because it was very thick and heavy. Took some leftovers home for sure! The rice and beans were pretty standard. The volcano chimichanga with chicken was pretty good, very filling but I felt the chicken maybe wasn't as seasoned as the first time I tried their takeout food. My husband's enchiladas were pretty good, not the best sauce we've had but still pretty good - the beef was best one. Overall would definitely eat here again one day but would likely try some other things next time! read more

We wanted great nachos and decided to try Nixtamal. What an incredible find! The nachos were excellent and the tableside guacamole was outstanding. The chips were crispy and solid. Sebastian provided great service and menu guidance for our first visit. Portions were very generous and we are now set for lunch tomorrow. We are big fans and this is our 'go to' choice.
