My project was front yard & front porch make over. See the before & after photos. Very professional and their staff was all hard working & punctual. Bryant put my project into their packed schedule right away. They started on Sunday, then came back next Saturday, then finished up Sunday evening. My front yard make-over was done in less than two weekends. Bryant also identified rotten woods at the base of the columns in the front porch, then replaced them. The outdoor power socket was shorted, and he drove down to the closest hardware store to get the replacement and installed it. When new additional material is needed, he gave me a heads up and gave me the written quotes. After each day, his crew cleaned up to keep our neighborhood nice and clean. Bryant and his team from NK construction just finished our project of full kitchen and two bathrooms remodeling. We couldn't be more thankful for Bryant's help along the way. He is very responsive and responsible for his promises. Also, his team is easy to work with and worked diligently to finish the jobs. Being first time SFH owners, we are not very knowledgeable of how to maintain and fix the house. Bryant often provided us with professional advices. For example, shortly after the demolition, we found out that our house has serious electrical and plumbing problems. Bryant quickly reacted to the issue and helped us fix all the problems to comply with the city code. Also, due to our budget limit, we'd like to keep our original hardwood floor, which is a very old-fashioned kind. But at one point we needed to find matching wood to fill out the hole that was dug out to fix the plumbing in crawl space. Bryant and his project manager spent lots of time and effort helping me find the matching wood. Even though inevitably there were still times that we had miscommunication, Bryant has always been open for re-discussion and making adjustments accordingly. I was trying to do a bathroom addition but ended up tearing down the whole house. The first guy I found claimed to know the city rules and all I needed to do was find a licensed person to do the drawing and my husband can run to the city for the permit, but that ended up a disaster, I looked everywhere for a construction company that was willing to take over the mess the first guy made, no one seemed interested or would charge you a whole lot knowing you have nowhere to go. Until a friend referred Bryant from NK construction, as soon as I called, he immediately came to take a look and said he will take care of it, that really meant a lot to me as homeowners, having a rundown place messed by the first guy, and a red flag from the city now, I now have to remodel the whole house to get it to code. His charge was very reasonable too, and he will work with you with your budget. I think it's time to update. We end up the contract with NK Kitchen & Bath peacefully. They only worked in my house for 7 days, then we had to stop the remodel project by city for 4 MONTHS. Due to some misunderstanding between the contractor Bryant and the city inspector, they removed a bearing wall in my house. The city inspectors asked for the structural details after they found it. Another construction company needs to be involved. It takes time, and it is not cheap. There are too many things happened in these days. I'm suffering from this mistake that this company made. I couldn't help but counting my loss of money everyday. I've been losing sleep but still don't know what to do next. I wished they could take the responsibility, but actually, the owner is the only one who has to pay for everything. We might sign another contract with NK Kitchen & Bath. I purchased my house back in June, all inspection reports were flying colors with no major issues. But found out that the AC is not blowing cold air during the hot summer days. The home warranty sent someone to inspect & said it was existing issue and won't covered, told me it was short on coolant and will cost $600 to refill. The 2nd guy from Home Depot came inspect and said it might be something else inside coil the that can cost $1,800. With another neighbor's referral, had a 3rd person came by and pointed out the house was missing proper size return vent for circulation and possibly of low pressure on condenser. So, I had total 4 different diagnoses/ estimates with different issues, and it was difficult to make a call on who to trust to fix the issue that we had. Finally, I got in touch with Bryant at NK, he sent his guy over for inspection/ estimate. Bic the HAVC expert was able to point out 2 of the issues that the previous diagnosed. Bic even went into my crawl space to personally inspect the duct work (no one from the past inspection did this!) I ended up hired NK for the proper return vent installment, removed all the old ducts work in crawl space to avoid possibly of hazard. NK also redirect one of the AC air vents to a more proper position in my dining room so the return vents can be installed accordingly for the proper use. At the same time, since the furnace in the house was really old and nearly its lifetime and furnace unit are essential component for both heating and cooling system, I also hired NK to replace a new furnace. The AC now works wonder, cold air blow soon after unit turns on, I'm glad NK was able to identify the actual issue and able to fix and solve my problem in less than 3 days. The work was done in precise major & wrapped up nicely clean! Two of 16 x 26 return vent installment plus redirect an air vent on the ceiling & cleaned up and took out all those crazy old ducts under the crawl space total cost a lot less than the previous 3 estimated combined! Not to mention all the above were done within a week on the hottest day of the bay area history during September when temperature was over 110. NK didn't postpone the work on this steaming crazy hot week and had all compromised work done in 4 days. They even installed my Nest smart thermostat at free of charge. Bic & Bryant are always within one call reach and attentive to any questions I had. Later this beginning of winter, the first time I turned on the heater with the new furnace. Somehow it triggers the CO detectors immediately, I called both Bic & Bryant right the way out of fear. Bryant ensured me that it needs to be run with windows open initially since it was new, then Bic actually came over to inspect everything to make sure furnace and the system works without any issues. Now we have amazing heating and cooling system that works wonder which is such a peace of mind that we sure appreciate & enjoy very much in our new house! read more
