Second time ordering through Seamless. Food was on time, but I discovered a COCKROACH in the bag. I will NEVER order from here again. And when I tried to contact them for a refund, they refused to refund me unless I returned the food. I had already thrown it out, because why do I want cockroach infested food in my house? Looks like your typical Chinese fast food hole in the wall, but it's more. Place is SPOTLESS clean. Ladies behind the counter are super friendly. Place gets really busy at dinner time, so an hour delivery wait could be ready in 15 mins if you are willing to pick up. Have yet to have a Chinese dish there I didn't like or that wasn't fresh. Prices are unbeatable and they even have american stuff for the kids or picky people. Only deducting one star because they have a Mexican menu which is gross. Me asking for a menu left both of us confused. But the food itself was a big disappointment. - Ground beef taco-3/5 Your generic Tex-Mex fare. - Grilled chicken quesadilla- 3/5 Was alright. Some grilled chicken bonded by jack cheese between 2 flour tortillas. Nothing special, could be easily recreated at home by an amateur. - Yat Gaw Mein Soup- 2/5 Aka hangover soup that is SUPPOSED to be a beef noodle soup in rich beef broth. What I received was basically a very light noodle soup with vegetables, lots of sliced beef (quality of which I did not appreciate), in most likely a vegetable light broth. - Chicken noodle soup- 3/5 Darker broth than "my" 10033 No.1 Chinese, light but not as flavorful. - Mapo tofu- 3/5 When cooked right, it's quite a delicious spicy vegetarian dish. The sauce was off, more like your usual brown sauce with a hint of bean sauce. Not eventful. - Spicy chicken wings- 1/5 This is the biggest disappointment. Small wings, dry meat, covered in sticky not-at-all spicy red sauce. When you have fierce Chinese chicken wing competition- from spicy big wings in Chan's Kitchen 2 blocks away to crispy juicy fried wings from 10033 No.1 Chinese- you have to step up your game. Since my last review in March 2017, I've ordered specifically Chinese food from here a few times and it has not been consistent. 1 out of 3 times, it was pretty good. But the other times, it was downright inedible. Today, I thought "what the heck. I'll try again - it can't be that bad!". As soon as I tried to eat my meal (for which I paid an extra dollar to have only white meat chicken), I realized I wouldn't be having general tso with white meat this evening. The chicken was so hard fried that I couldn't eat it - actually couldn't even find any meat in all but one piece I tried to dig in to. Many of the pieces were the size of a grape - who wants their white meat to be that tiny inside of a ball of over-fried coating? I thought - "ok, let me call and give them the benefit of the doubt that they'll remake it and offer for me to try a properly cooked order". I was SO wrong. When I called, I was put on hold 4 times and I could hear them taking other orders on the phone and in person the whole time. 2 times after that, I was able to start explaining the situation, but they began to take other orders and talk over me - THEN telling me to hold on ...again. At that point, I just started saying "hello?" until they replied. I explained the situation and their response was simply "I don't know what you want me to do about it" and then they began speaking to another customer. I said "hello?" a few more times but I couldn't take it any more so I simply hung up. This is the most ridiculous experience I've had with a local business and I'm really disappointed. I tried to go directly to them but I'm insulted and annoyed.Good thing that also means I've lost my appetite now too... read more

I am forever indebted to the kind people of No. 1 Restaurant. I got an insatiable craving for rice at an ungodly hour; right before their closing time. I called up, expecting no answer, but was pleasantly surprised when the woman picked up. I placed my order and it was ready at the door in less than half an hour. I know that I cut it very close and I know I shouldn't have brought them out so late but they were super friendly and did not guilt me at all. Very personable people and delicious food! Amazing prices, speed of light service and wonderful service (especially from the female owner). We always try to pay cash to help the small business and we encourage to do the same. This place is excellent. Ordered here with some coworkers and the choices are endless. I ordered the combination by the pound (chicken and steak mix with onions and tortilla bread). The portions are BEYOND generous, lasted me for 2 days, both chicken and steak were cooked well, tender and flavorful. Most of the dishes we've tried - scallion pancakes, spring rolls, kung pao chicken, spicy tofu, fried tofu w/vegetables and garlic sauce - have been OK but I've certainly had better versions of all of them at other restaurants in the city. I recommend this place when my friends come up to visit. After this bad customer service, I will not spend any more money.
