Finding out there was a Noah's Bagels near us in Roseville was a pleasant surprise. Seeing its Yelp rating immediately afterward... not so much. I read through some of the reviews and saw complaints ranging from bad food to strange smells and poorly prepared orders. For a minute, I genuinely wondered if this was just a particularly bad Noah's. There was only one way to find out. We went for breakfast. I'm very glad we did. Before we even walked inside, I could smell it from the parking lot. If you've been around Noah's long enough, you know the smell. My wife didn't notice it until we walked through the door, at which point she immediately said, "Oh -- smells like Noah's, that's for sure!" Yep. We're in the right place. Inside, I immediately liked what I saw. Clean floors, familiar artwork, and an open view of the equipment behind the counter where everything is being prepared. Lots of clean, shiny stainless steel and equipment that looked well cared for. I like being able to see where my food is being made. The employee who took our order was friendly, patient, and unknowingly subjected to a small test. The egg bagel is my all-time favorite Noah's bagel. It was discontinued years ago but occasionally makes a comeback, so I asked if they had it. "Sadly no, not at this time." Correct answer. Then I asked about the salt bagel. It's another favorite of mine, but I've learned over the years that locations don't make many because they aren't particularly popular. Some locations don't carry them anymore, and the pretzel bagel has become a pretty good substitute. "No, I'm sorry, we're all out right now, but we do have pretzel bagels and they're actually very good." 11/10 answer. I even thought I could see salt bagels behind him and asked. He politely confirmed that they were sesame. No attitude, no impatience, just friendly service throughout the interaction. I ordered my usual: a plain bagel with bacon, egg and cheese. My wife got hers on a jalapeño cheese bagel, and our daughter got her usual plain bagel in a bag. Everything tasted exactly right. For me, Noah's has always been the standard for a bagel. The outside has just the right amount of toughness and snap when you bite through it, while the inside stays moist and fluffy without feeling hollow or overly airy. I've had plenty of good bagels elsewhere, but I've never found another place that gets that particular combination quite the same. This location did. Fresh OJ was great, the food was exactly what I expected, the employees were polite, and I watched the crew communicating, working, joking around and smiling with each other when they had a moment. The entire place was clean and comfortable, and there's even a nice outdoor seating area. I don't know what happened during some of the visits described in the other reviews. I can only review the experience I had, and mine was excellent. After years of eating Noah's around the Bay Area, I can confidently say this Roseville location tastes, smells and feels like the Noah's I've known since I was a kid. I'm just happy we have one nearby. Now bring back the egg bagel. read more

I decided to make another run for a dozen bagels hoping to find an ample supply and choice before late morning. Well, it worked. There was a good supply and I was able to get exactly what I wanted. I still maintain that Noah's has the best bagels around. As I've previously noted in reviews I'm a native New York City guy and particular about certain things, especially bagels. These even freeze well and taste as good reheated The staff is efficient and friendly and I was in and out in no time. And they are back to using a box again for carting them out! The worst of the chain. First, no sesame bagels, no salt bagels. Second, there is a stench of something burnt. Third, if you use a card, you will HAVE to put in a tip amount to complete the transaction. All tipping is voluntary. If it's built in, it is not a tip, it is a penalty. I tried the lox on spinach and Swiss bagel. I was not impressed. What I got was a sandwich. I had no expectations, but I was at least expecting a BAGEL. I don't mind waiting for food if the wait is worth it, unfortunately, this wasn't even close. I ordered a cheddar jalapeño bagel with plain cream cheese, avocado, onion, and lox, and what I received was deeply disappointing. The lox portion was so minimal it felt like it had been sprinkled on rather than actually included. The avocado looked like an afterthought, unevenly smashed and barely there. And honestly... was the bagel even toasted? If it was, it didn't show. We came here to try Noah's instead of our usual Posh Bagel, thinking it might be a solid alternative. This Noah's seems brand new. It's right off Highway 65, easy to find, lots of parking. It was lunchtime and a bagel sandwich sounded great. The store is huge, big and bright and really good ambiance. There is plenty of indoor seating and a nice outdoor seating area too. The bagel case was FULLY stocked. I chose a turkey sandwich and it was made quickly and exactly to order. Yummy toasty bagel with messy toppings. YUM. They have different flavors of coffees and bottled juices. The employees were cheerful and helpful and efficient. It was a good stop. Went in today for a cookie. Last time I can it was fresh and soft which I my favorite. Well they only had one left. I asked if it's soft. He said yes it's made fresh today. So o ordered and when they hand it to me it was brick hard. I told them and they said they can warm it up. Makes not sense to me. Last time it didn't need to be warmed. I'M SO THRILLED THAT THIS NOAHS BAGELS HAS GOTTEN SO MUCH BETTER IN THE PAST MONTH. I come here regularly and order food as well as some of the specialty drinks. Never am I dissatisfied. Let me begin by saying I'm very observant of my surroundings as well as all the people working behind the counter. I have noticed in the past Month, the dinning area is always very clean and immaculate. Tables wiped down, things stocked, fresh coffee brewed....like come on yes please!!! Two years later and the customer service still sucks. I ordered online for pick up in store. My bag had a sticker that said "see cashier". I ordered online to save me time as I am a busy mom. I stood at the counter waiting for someone to help me but was completely ignored for 10 MINUTES. The customer I came in with was done ordering and walked out before me. Workers made eye contact with me but didn't even care to ask "have you been helped?" No one knew why I had the sticker on my bag. Communication between the team clearly sucks. I hate to write a bad review, but when I receive bad service again & again, I feel i should warn people. I've made so many orders that were done wrong. I've come here about 20 times and for at least half of those visits (probably 12 or 13), my order was made wrong. I have nicely called them out on it bc it's a bummer to order something, drive home and it's gross bc it was made a way they I don't want to eat. Also, some of the people wrkng here are on drugs for sure. .. except one really nice guy, but majority of employees really shouldn't be working there. I don't like coming into place in a happy mood and leaving feeling kinda does bc of that dark vibe They can try to be nice, but I don't want "empty vessels" making my food..bc they're mentally affected. This is the closest Noah's bagels to me and I was a bit nervous to visit after seeing some of the other reviews... I decided to give them a chance anyways and I'm so glad I did. I stopped in on a Saturday morning and ordered the lox bagel. It was made well, cut in 1/2, but the toppings were all bunched in the middle. The cream cheese to salmon ratio was a little off but overall it satisfied my craving. Despite it being a busy morning, the cashier was friendly and calm. I only waited about 10 minutes for my bagel. Nothing like NY. It was so inefficient, slow and when my order was ready the bag and the wrapper was sooooooo greasy and I didn't even order a cooked or greasy sandwich. So yes- I love that it's conveniently located on the main road, decent parking and I did go on a Saturday morning. I went in to order and thank goodness it's a decent size restaurant because there were a lot of people waiting for their order and there was ample standing room. I ordered ONE Lox sandwich. Twenty minutes later my order was finally ready. Fine, but when I grabbed the bag it was so greasy and thought ok fine maybe it accidentally made contact with something. This place was on our way home so we stopped in and grabbed a quick coffee and bagel. Judging by the reviews we were a little skeptical, but decided to give it a try out of convenience. We were promptly greeted look like they have a fully stocked collection of bagels. The staff was prompt and polite. Bagel was good and coffee was hot. When placing an order, I've noticed that employees often don't greet customers or acknowledge them right away. Instead of saying something like "Hey, I'll be right with you" or "How can I help you?", they tend to stand silently at the register or continue conversations with coworkers, showing little enthusiasm or interest. On my most recent visit, I have never experienced such disrespect or felt so unwanted anywhere before. I was literally ignored for several minutes before anyone even glanced my way -- all while the employees continued having a personal, intimate conversation about activities outside of work and on phones. It often feels like socializing takes priority over making customers feel welcome. I completely understand that having a friendly and enjoyable work environment is important, but when a customer walks through the door, they should be greeted immediately and made to feel valued -- not like they're interrupting something. This location is rarely busy when I visit, yet the staff frequently seem distracted, on their phones, or wrapped up in personal conversations. It's unprofessional and creates an uncomfortable atmosphere for customers. I truly hope management can address this, because the lack of engagement and attention to customers is unacceptable for a business that depends on good service. I don't know what is wrong with his younger generation or what society has come to, but this is completely ridiculous. They need an actual adult monitoring them clearly they can't function. read more

The bagels were good. I was surprised at the very low ratings. It did take a long time to get our food, but that was ok. Everything we ordered tasted fresh. My family ordered bagels with regular cream cheese. Just note that if you are taking the bagels home you can save over $2 per bagel by using your own cream cheese. My wife and I were very disappointed. Noah's Bagel on Douglas is by far much better and also cleaner. The Thrive location had garbage all over the floor. So we decided to give this place another try and it was even more disappointing! Unfortunately, there was no improvement on how they put bagel sandwiches together. It was still messy and the filling was lopsided. We ordered two Nova Lox bagels sandwiches (one with egg) and a blueberry bagel to go. Well... first they forgot to give us the blueberry bagel so we had to go back and ask for it. Then found out after we got home that there was no egg in one of the Nova Lox sandwiches, which they charged $3.50 extra for. I'm sorry but the order was not complicated at all. Would really like to know why poppy seeds are not on the poppy seed bagels these days. We have been regular customers every other week buying bagels for the last three years and the poppy seeds were always beautifully attached to the bagels. For the past several months when we get our poppy seed bagels they come home naked with lots of seeds in the bottom of the bags. On the other hand the sesame seeds seem to have no problems sticking to the bagels. If anyone out there has an answer as to why we are bald bagels with no poppy seeds we want to know!!! read more

I won't be coming back here. First, they messed up our order -- not a huge deal on its own. But what really bothered me was the guy preparing our bagels had extremely long, fake nails -- like full-on Cardi B nails. It just struck me as really unhygienic for someone handling food to have nails that long. It completely killed my appetite. Then, when I got to my car and opened the bagels, they were cold. We decided to give it a try this morning despite the reviews. Order took forever despite me ordering ahead and letting them know when I arrived at the store. The 3 teenage boys working the "line" were more interested in talking then producing quality food, and providing great customer service. I observed it while waiting for 10 minutes for my food.
