We have been going to Noah's for some time now and offer the following as a constructive opinion. First, I understand why restaurants offer mashed potatoes and vegetable of the day/chef but it really has little to do with what's available and fresh but more about what can be prepared ahead in large quantities and ladled out as needed. That said, I had 5 broiled scallops (soft gushy insides),mashed potato (huge unappetizing lump) and a spoon full of Brussels sprouts for dinner last night. Totally blah quality food at a rather high price ($26]. I wanted to talk with the waitress but she was too busy or distracted and did not return to ask how we were doing until the food was cold. I continue to be underwhelmed by this place. My friends keep insisting on meeting here for breakfast, but truly, it's just ok. I've had the baked eggs with Linguica- a greasy mess. The omelets are fine, standard fare. The 2 eggs, any style are also fine but typically over-cooked (I usually order over medium & they have almost always arrived over hard). It's also become something of a joke with my friends as I always order a side of bacon but it has never once been delivered- I've seen their bacon, tasted it from a friend's plate though & can say it is delicious. The best thing I've had there is their home fries- perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked, potato goodness. next time, perhaps I'll just ask for a side of home fries & call it a day. I just wish I understood the appeal of this place, other than its location. read more

Some girlfriends and I were going to stonington vineyards for a wine tasting and we wanted to do brunch first so we looked on Yelp and found Noah's. We all loved our food and the service was great. It was about an hour from home but will definitely make a trip to come here again. read more

My husband and I went to Noah's on a friend's recommendation while visiting his relatives in Stonington, and we weren't let down! In fact, we all ate brunch there both days; after the first time, we had to go back for more! I definitely wouldn't miss the pancakes, which were huge, fluffy, and tasty. We shared them so that we could also enjoy an egg dish- the three egg omelette, the Portuguese baked eggs, and the brunch baguette topped our lists. My son and I have been to Noah's for Saturday breakfast 3-4 times, and have enjoyed our meal each time. Even when they are very busy, the friendly waitstaff always greet you with a smile. (More than I can say for some of the locals, who actually looked down their noses at us as we sat down! We were dressed appropriately (preppy) so I'm guessing it was because we weren't from town.) Anyhow, we LOVED the pancakes, they were the best we've ever eaten. Light and fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth good, served with real maple syrup. On other visits, I've also had an herb omelet with home fries (very good) and 2 eggs, scrambled with H.F.(ok). Seriously we'd come back again and again just for those pancakes. Oh, and the coffee is better than at the coffee house up the street. read more

Delicious. Grilled cheese on rye with bacon and a cup of cauliflower soup is pretty damn hard to beat on a cold, gray November day. YUM!

The decor was cute. I felt like I was in my grandmas old home. The table seating is very tight so if you are looking for a private conversation this is not the place. The food presentation was an A+ The Pink Lady salad was delicious. Enough to share for two if you are also having a meal. The ingredients are all very fresh. I had the fresh pasta with pesto and added the shrimp. The pesto was a bit bland. I didn't taste any garlic. The pasta was very good but was served Luke warm. I enjoy my meals piping hot. The added shrimp - well - I misread the menu and the shrimp were $3.50 EACH . They gave me three without asking how many I wanted. They were not worth the added cost. The waiter brought over a basket of bread with 3 pieces for 2 people. We asked for more and never got it. I would go back for the salad. read more

Excellent, well prepared food, all day long. My favorite dish is Portuguese eggs with linguica however there are many. Great place to take family. Kids love the pancakes. Pleasant wait staff. Love, love, love this place. The waitress was wonderful and even suggested we all share one blueberry pancake for the experience because she heard us debating about it. My poached eggs were perfect. No puddle beneath them and in a separate dish. My friend got the challah french toast which was delicious. They make sure that all sides of the french toast are seared before serving. We did not feel rushed although it was prime time for brunch. I can't wait to go back! read more

My family is in Southern RI and I have good memories of an impressive Noah's in years gone by. My visit in May 2017 however was such a disappointment. I was picking up the tab for a party of 8 as a graduation party so no one complained until much later. That's when I found out that only 2 out of 8 people were pleased with their dinner. Bluefish with a god awful salsa, just gruesome. Cod with a weird miso like no other miso I have ever had, bordering on mole, not good, not compatible with cod. Driest rice pudding ever. Noah's special margarita weak and not special. Poorly prepared pasta and so-so salmon. Not fun hearing these reports after picking up a large tab. Overpriced. Will not return. read more

While on a college visit trip last week in New England with my daughter and granddaughter, we happened by Noah's after our visit to Conn College. Having been stationed in Groton years ago, we loved to visit Stonington and Mystic. It was about 4:00 in the afternoon and we enjoyed the Happy Hour offerings and the half price glasses of wine. It was a damp and chilly day but the warm and cozy atmosphere was exceptional. We stayed on and had light dinner offerings as well before heading on to Providence, our next destination. The food and service were very good and thus I heartily recommend this great little pub. read more

My husband and I stayed at the nearby Inn At Stonington for a long weekend and took the short walk over to Noah's for breakfast and dinner. It is set on a street full of local shops that is great for browsing. The Inn where we stayed was delightful, as well. For breakfast, I had the steel cut oats (great thick and creamy texture), home fries (different than the usual fare, cubed with the skin on and evenly browned, not greasy), and a fruit cup (freshly cut and generously portioned). My husband had a stack of chocolate chip pancakes, which he thoroughly enjoyed. For dinner, we had squash tostadas for an appetizer, which were fresh, delicious, and a creative spin on the usual tostada. I ordered a bowl, which allows for the diner to select specific ingredients and a sauce to top it off. My husband had steak, mashed potatoes, and broccoli for dinner. His steak was cooked correctly to his order. I had a glass of wine. He had a hard root beer, which was a fun change of pace and very tasty. The wait staff were attentive, and the food arrived quickly. All in all, I would recommend this restaurant. read more

They charge 2 dollars for a single cold raw hot pepper when it should be free as hot sauce is. Over all a 41us learning experience to never order other thing other than pancakes and coffee at that place. read more

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Noah's last night. The server and host was very friendly, prompt and knowledgeable. I had a boro bowl which is a bowl that starts with quinoa, rice, mixed greens and an Asian slaw. You then add 4 toppings (more if you would like), a sauce and a protein. It was very tasty. This restaurant, defined by the atmosphere is genuine, is added to by knowledgable, unpretentious staff, and a variety of year round and summer specials. It has an old school atmosphere and friendly, genuine staff. The lobster roll is very over priced, very small and not great quality lobster. The rest of the food is quite good, but not amazing. The bartenders are truly entertaining, especially on weekends. The hostess with long graying hair is strange and always leaves clients standing at the front waiting for her too long, to the point that the bartenders and wait staff have to send someone for that hostess or try to assist otherwise. The waitresses and waiters are great, especially Courtney, Andrew, and as bartender, Victor. Have fun! The winter clientele are the best!! read more

I have heard about Noah's for years, but my trips back to CT never worked out for a meal there. I have friends who have raved about Noah's. This time, I had breakfast with a friend at the place. Frankly, for what Noah's charges, most diners would be a better pick. The "fresh-squeezed" orange juice tasted no better than the "Simply Orange" brand from a grocery store. My omelet was decent. My companion's blueberry pancakes were undercooked. The coffee was fresh, at least, but it was commercial-grade coffee (nowhere near as good as Dunkin Donuts' coffee). $30 for two people for breakfast: I expected better. read more

I've gone to Noah's several times at this point for breakfast; I've never found their fare to be particularly stunning but the location is convenient and the atmosphere is friendly. Well, usually friendly. The most recent time my family and I ate at Noah's we arrived at the restaurant a bit before nine in the morning, in order to avoid the breakfast rush. We were seated quickly and placed our orders not long after. These were not terribly complicated orders, a few pancakes and an Eggs Benedict, so we expected to be tucking into our breakfasts in no time. We were very wrong. After having seen a few rounds of customers, enter, order, and be served before us, we asked our server how much longer our order would be. She came back several minutes later with news that our orders would not be long at all. Ten more minutes went by and still no food. At this point we had been waiting well over 40 minutes for our food. We asked the server again about the status of our order and were told again that it was on its way. Another ten more minutes went by and then finally our food arrives. Now, at this point, I'm disappointed in Noah's but willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. This changed when, as we were just beginning our meal, a woman (who I can only presume was the manager) came over to ask how we were doing. We expressed dismay at having waited close to an hour for our (not all that good) food and were answered with an incredulous glance and an indignant "I know how long you've been waiting" as if to suggest that we were fabricating our complaint. I checked my watch again, just to ensure that my ability to read time hadn't suddenly vanished. Shockingly, it had not. Realizing that there really was no hope in rebuffing her personal fiction of conniving customers bent on the destruction of Noah's reputation, we asked for the check, ate our food, and left, her glare following us all the way out the door. Very expensive and disappointing meal. While grateful they could fit our party of six plus a full-size stroller things seemed to go downhill from there. My first disappointed was the small menu only catering to certain seafood; my husband, an avid seafood eater had difficulty choosing an entree. I am not a seafood eater so I, my niece and mother were for Ed to choose from the limited bar menu. I ordered the French onion soup which had burnt cheese on top. Otherwise the taste was fair. My husband ordered the shrimp cocktail for 9.95 and the entire table was shocked to see three of the smallest shrimp ever on a plate. He was hardly able to share with my father as planned. The chowder got mixed reviews; my father claimed it was fair while my husband claimed to have consumed mostly potato. My niece and brother consumed the smallest clams I've ever laid eyes on. When ordering our entrees we were very surprised that despite offering sandwiches with any side, French fries were not an option. We were given a choice of mashed potatoes, hash browns, white rice or vegetables (read: string beans). Given that myself, niece and mother all ordered grilled cheese, once again due to lack of alternative non-seafood items, my mother and I were forced to endure the most tasteless hash browns ever created. The grilled cheese was as my 10 year old niece described as 'sucky'. They used a very poor quality, grainy cheddar cheese as opposed to the more popular American version. The other diners were surprised at the very small portions of both their fish main dish and their sides. Honestly, it's not worth the money, so if you are in the area, just skip it!!! read more

Honestly, I don't know what restaurant everyone else is talking about but this placed sucked!! I mean our experience was so bad I actually just created a "yelp" account just to blast this restaurant. For starters the service upon being seated was painfully slow. It took forever to get a few fountain soda's and 2 bar drinks. I'm not talking a Saturday night we're talking 7:30pm on a Thursday. Appetizers woefully small. I ordered the shrimp cocktail. 3 shrimp!!! Seriously?!?!? 3 shrimp for $10???? I've been to steakhouses in NY where you don't even get bent over like that. Ordered a cup of new England clam chowder. Soup was watery thin but plenty of potatoes, maybe 3 clam pieces in it. Wow! Main course was flounder which was very tasty but lukewarm and very small portion. No choices on sides other than stringbeans and 2-3 other things. My string beans were ice cold and the mashed potatoes (all 1/2 a cup of them) were also barely warm. By this point just the idea of having desert there was laughable. I don't even know what else to say. My entire party was disappointed. We would have been better off eating at our hotel restaurant. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

I have dined here about 4 times so far - it keeps getting worse each time...so why do I keep returning?? that's just what I was asking myself the other night at dinner. The food - it's fresh & respectable (I liken it to what I would cook pretty much any night I'm just hangin out without giving ANY thought to it at all) The other night we had swordfish (grilled plain) with some OK mashed potatoes & just ready to be overcooked broccoli, my wife had the halibut. We started with some steamers & sliced local tomato with xvoo, basil & waaay too much cheap balsamic. The bar is pretty low (and getting lower apparently) - but it is tolerable, decent, fresh, and last but not least somewhat cute. The big (and obvious apparently only to me) problem is the service. The dining room was full - that's a total of about 35 seats, there's a bar too. There were 4 people waiting on this crowd, plus 2 bus people (lady gaga & alfalfa) - hate to cast people - but simply worst 2 bussers I've ever witnessed. There was absolutely no communication from the nice lady working the door and the floor staff. I watched table after table not get cleared, be delivered wrong food, have no water or bread, spill soup, ignore, not pour wine, not clear dishes....(I won't nit pik any further). It became clear after a few short minutes of observation that gaga was so pre-occupied with hair flips and looking out over the "service counter" in the back of the dining room - she forgot she was working. She (no exaggeration) passed by our table every minute and a half without every doing a single bit of side work for the entire time we ate. Alfalfa was only slightly better - but she would occasionally get hung up scooping 2 pre made desserts (two) onto 2 dishes (10 minutes). It was pretty painful. We got through the meal (like I said - 3 stars for food I guess) - at least it's not spoiled. and zero stars for management, customer service, discipline and paying attention to what's happening 8 feet in front of your face. I hope someone reads this that can help out with this degenerative problem. read more

My daughter and I stopped in for a late lunch the other day. We were quickly seated by our very pleasant server, and that's where the pleasantries ended. My daughter ordered the Breakfast burger special, which stated it came with a side of potatoes. It was ordered medium rare, but what she was served was better suited to a hockey game. Not only was it beyond well done, it was next to impossible to bite into without risk of chipping a tooth. The side of potatoes were two wedges from I can only imagine came from a baby potato. I ordered the Asian noodle salad with crispy vegetables. The noodles came out in one fist sized stuck together lump, and the crispy veggies consisted of store bought shredded carrots. No dressing was provided. It was disappointing to say the least. I would not be comfortable recommending this place to anyone. read more

It's unfortunate that a restaurant that was once a family favorite, was such a disappointment this evening. We have been coming here for many years and decided to celebrate two family members birthdays here. While the service was friendly, there were some serious missteps. Two table settings were missing from the table, and after asking twice more, they finally came after apps were dropped. No bread was brought, after it was asked for, it was delivered about ten minutes after asked, once our mussels were cold. To be fair it was being freshly baked, but the appropriate thing to do in that situation would be to update your guests. When entrees came out, my fathers lamb was rancid. They kindly replaced it, but then when the check was dropped, both entrees were there. Which could have been forgiven if not for the coup de gras, which was the lovely conversation I overheard while waiting for the restroom. It's fine that the restroom is in an odd location (in the kitchen) but as a hospitality professional, I was shocked to hear staff speaking poorly of another table and the gratuity the server was left. No ones saying that we don't all have difficult guests, but to be that rude about guests in a space where you continuously have people from the dining room is just plain foolish. Lesson for all wait staff; a gratuity is indicative of the service provided and considering our dining experience, I'm surprised there are any tips to be made in Noah's. Truly sorry to say we will never be back. read more

Went with another couple for "buck a shuck" oysters. We arrived early and enjoyed a drink at the bar. The bar was full of older locals and the drinks were strong! Some of the appetizers were good, others were not so good. The oysters were served promptly and there were no limits! If you have nothing else, get the oyster stew.
