Good food but pretty pricey for Mexican would i Visit again maybe but if you don't mind spending 5.50 on tacos come here . overall the food is good the menu is big and [[HIGHLIGHT]]it's a nice area[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I came here for lunch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was pretty empty.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the steak tacos, which were decent. There was nothing really special about it, but they weren't bad. The waitress wasn't as welcoming when I arrived, but when I was ready to pay seems a little bit more welcoming/friendly.

I have been in this place for years I consider this a great place to eat. The most authentic Mexican food ever. The service is great and the food is delicious. I recommend the fajitas and the burritos. My favorite meal is enchiladas verdes de pollo. I highly recommend this restaurant [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience is amazing[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I came here late Saturday night, starving from a long day of exploring the city. Service was quick and very friendly. I got 4 tacos, steak & alpastor. My friends got quesadillas. Portion sizes are hefty! You definitely won't leave hungry and most likely leave with left overs. Complimentary Chips & salsa were good & spicy. I must admit though the actual food was just okay. Steak lacked flavor and pork was dry. It hit the spot for a good late night spot but I probably wouldn't order the tacos again at least. Tacos were about $5 each but really 1 taco is the size of two& they give extra tortilla. Perhaps I'll try something new if I find my self here again.

I love finding places like this where the food is what's valuable not the fanciness of the interior design-- a little hypocrisy to my previous but here it works perfect. Our service was so good, the food was even better very casual and family style. I was surprised when I saw their menu and the prices, $4.50-$5 for a single taco that's bigger than commercial restaurants, double tortilla... generous servings? Count me IN!!! (BTW the pollo taco was immaculate) My date ordered a taco salad, and it was the first time I saw this hence my excitement in the photo. Initially it arrived with raw veggies like peppers, carrots and onions. We sent it back for it to be cooked to match the warmth of the steak, honestly that's the only bad thing I can say about the food. I do wish the margarita didn't taste pre-made. 100% feel as though digital marketing needs to be better but well worth the visit, I wish I lived next door.

I'm totally over the moon about this place, for many reasons. We happened upon it last night after walking out of a different Mexican restaurant nearby. What an amazing find. It was great food, great service, reasonable prices considering it's on the UWS and they did something few other places would have done, which scored big points. When we sat down and were looking at our menu a homeless gentleman came by asking for something to eat. We run a non profit for the homeless, and it's part of who we are. So, we ordered him dinner to go. The restaurant wasn't busy. We were the only table. (They do a lot of take out.) Anyway, as they weren't busy, they generously allowed the man to sit at a table and eat dinner like a human being and treated him with the same kindness and dignity we all want and expect. That not only showed the character of our waitress, but it doubled her tip! Now, back to the other important part: The food. De-lic-ious. Guacamole? Was better than 75% of the table side guac we've had at much fancier restaurants. I had the steak fajitas. So good. Cooked perfectly. Large(!!) portion. Rice, beans, all the fixings. My husband had three kinds of tacos. And, he's pretty picky. Okay, he's very picky about his food, especially Mexican and especially tacos. The el pastor was gone in no time. As were the shrimp and the other. And the service was friendly, attentive and pretty awesome. They also adhere to all the COVID cleaning requirements, along with wrapped utensils and paper menus. Will we be back? 100% ABSOLUTELY!

Very reasonable prices, especially during HappyHour 3-7pm with $9 Quesadillas and $4.50 beers! Authentic Mexican food that could hold it's own with those in San Diego (I lived there for 22yrs, and of course have been to Mexico many times). The Quesadillas are made on corn tortillas which is not the traditional flour / lots of lard that most places do it, but I appreciate the slightly healthier version!

Let start with the positives. The food at this place comes in good portions and is delicious. I ate all of mine and genuinely enjoyed every bite. The frozen margaritas are also delicious. They Have a nice flavor and are mixed surprisingly well considering they are frozen. I thought the food/ drinks were on point at this place. It's was also very clean. What was lacking was everything else. We literally had to find our waitress whenever we wanted anything because she never came to check on us. The place isn't that big so you have to try hard not to see the patrons. That's why it only gets three stars. We were not checked on at all and had to track our waitress down to order. I would visit this spot again if I was hungry and happened to be near it. Probably would grab the food to go and have a drink or two inside. But literally would be running back to eat here

Horrible service. Horrible food. The fajitas were watered down, and no sizzle at all. For $21 I expect more.

A quick internet search led me to this tiny little takeaway window. There were a few people waiting around for their orders, but the service was quick, and super friendly. The birria was amazing, super tender, perfect seasoning and came with two sauces for dipping. Unbelievably flavourful, and an impressive serving size. Great value for the money. Truly authentic Mexican street food. I'll be back.

We had our usual list of spots in Midtown East, but this time we wanted something a little different. We ultimately landed on Mexican, however even then there were several spots to chose from. One of my colleagues found CdM, and since we had nothing to lose we decided to check it out. In terms of physical space at CdM, there is very little; this is actually a walk-up spot hence it is solely a takeout restaurant. The menu is pretty straightforward - lots of Mexican staples with a good variety to choose from. The burrito bowl looked good so I decided to go with that - I was given choice of protein (I chose pastor) and types of beans (I chose black). The bowl was really good - all the ingredients tasted fresh and they were generous with the portion. They added sour cream to the top of the bowl and it came with a side of salsa verde which I thought was a nice touch. We also ordered some bags of tortilla chips to share - these were my favorite kind as they were semi-thick and super crunchy. Overall, I had a solid experience at Cinco de Mayo. It definitely hit the Mexican craving spot and I would have no qualms returning for another meal.

I didn't see any but saw buckets for umbrellas. I opted not to leave it there since I didn't wanna forget or risk someone taking it. I took it upstairs with me. My friend had arrived and was seated. Apparently, they do offer sleeves because she got one. But the 3 people who were at the hostess booth failed to offer me one. The beautiful ambiance will get your attention immediately. It is a stunning space. The tableware was gorgeous as well. We waited for our last friend to arrive who was almost half an hour late before ordering (we thought she'd arrive sooner). Our server, Matias was gracious about it the whole time. What we ordered: Drinks: Passionfruit Margaritas & Mojito - we were happy with them. Tlayudas, Guacamole y Salsas - this was really good and a great option for the table to share. The homemade chips alone were excellent. Liked all the different dips. Guac could've used some cilantro and more acid/spice. Tán Ceviche - I loved this. Super fresh and great flavor. Could use a touch of acid. My entree was the Shrimp & Crab Enchiladas - This was pretty good. The sauce could've used some spice and some acid to cut through the richness. My friend ordered the Yellow Corn Soup as part of her meal and she did not like it. She said it was too sweet which I thought was strange. I tried a spoonful and I agreed with her. It needed a savory note and again, acid would've done wonders. Also, the crab was a bit fishy in this. She enjoyed her tamal though. I tried a touch of the sauce and it was delish. My other friend had the Quesabirria which she was also happy with. To sum up: Ambiance: 5/5 The space is undoubtedly gorgeous. Food: 4/5 Beautiful presentation on everything but each dish lacks an element or two to make it a home run. Staff: Wait staff 5/5. Downstairs staff (greeters/hostess) 4/5. Needs to be more on point like offering customers sleeves for umbrellas or pointing out the buckets to put them in. At some point through our entrees a group of 3 women were doing a 10-minute photo shoot by the stairway where our table was. Absolutely inappropriate behavior and a manager should've stopped it. Camera flashes all up in our faces while we're eating wasn't cool. Overall, still a great elevated Mexican cuisine option. The slight tweaks would make this a 5 star place for me. I'd return to try more things.

If you are someone who is looking at an aesthetic place, this is a top contender. Unfortunately, I would say this place is better looking than the food is good. The food was fine, appetizers were all fresh but lacked any real depth in flavor. I wasn't too thrilled with the bone marrow I had either (but the tortillas come in the cutest basket). Personally, if it wasn't for the drinks and the space, I cant say this place is worth it - you're not coming here for the food. Another little complaint I have is the women's restroom on the second floor - right by the door is a floor to ceiling mirror which I understand was included to make the space seem bigger, but my friends and I agreed that it is a little misleading - I kept wanting to walk into it thinking there was more space there and not wall. I would recommend maybe putting a decal on it to clearly show its mirror.

Decent size Mexican restaurant with some seating in the front and a handful of tables in the back dining room. We started with chips and guac. The guac is large so I understand the price. It was very good. No complaints. The chips could have used more salt though which is always a concern. You'd think Mexican spots would have a tortilla chip down by now. I ordered a steak quesadilla. The steak was tender and had pretty good flavor. I just wish there was more. Especially considering the price. Certainly not a bad quesadilla but the value wasn't quite there. Still, a fine option if you want Mexican food and you are in the area. I'd say the 3.5 rating is pretty spot on.
