Our second experience was definitely better (staff was a bit more attentive and friendly) and the food was consistently good. The venue is really cool and family friendly. My fiance and I are in town traveling and decided to stop in. I will start by saying this one probably hands down one of the best restaurant expirences of our lives. First, the staff was absolutely amazing! One of the owners was our server, he was over the top polite, fun, and energetic. (Mind you we didn't realize the time and we came in at almost closing) He encouraged us to relax, stay, and enjoy our meal. We also had another one of the staff greet us and was just as friendly!! Second, the food was wonderful. My fiance and I both tried the taco soup and both of us thought is was to die for. I ordered the enchiladas and my fiance had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich. Was overseas for almost a month and wanted to get some decent Mexican food. Hanging out around town at a friend's and found this place, which according to yelp, was highly rated. So walked in and food wasn't bad, but the service was awful. Obviously, male waiter wasn't paying attention and when I asked for guacamole on the side, the guy gives me extra sour cream (the plate already came with it). So I had to ask one of the waitresses (both of whom were friendly and courteous and wished they were my server) that I ordered the guac and they gave it to me. Of course they charged me for the sour cream that I never asked for, so instead of complaining, I took it off their tip. This would've been rated higher if it wasn't for this service. Fire the guy already! Next time, I'm going to Taco Bell on Highway 20. read more

We came to this restaurant at about 3:30 PM prior to the dinner crowd. We were the only ones in the restaurant so I was a little leery. We ordered various menu items, the chips and salsa and the chips are really really hot in the salsa was good. The clam chowder in the house salad which was surprisingly big was really good. The enchiladas were great. My steak tacos were great. And the fish and chips are out of this world. The portion size of the cod were Enormous and an exceptional value And really meaty. Delicious delicious. I would highly recommend this place. Oh by the way the one drawback is that there is no bar. They're working on getting their liquor license but when we came by no such luck. This is a great family run restaurant! Everybody was so friendly, Noe is especially friendly and greets all the guests tableside, what a nice touch. Even Jose comes out from the kitchen every once and a while to say hi to the patrons. The food is very good and reasonable sized portions. The Mexican food is authentic home made from scratch by Silvia and also very good. It's nice to see another reasonably priced establishment for us to eat at. Unbelievable. Driving through Whidbey Island on vacation and stopped in on a whim, hungry and looking for brunch. We were not disappointed. The service was unmatched, to the point where we looked up real estate wondering "Is it the island? Is that why everyone here is so happy to be alive??" My daughter wanted to try something "new" for her birthday. Little to say we not be back. The staff is nice enough but slow and overly familiar. The hours online say one time and they have changed it on one door with a post it note then make you feel bad for coming in "right before they close". The food is mediocre at best. I absolutely love this place! They have a little bit of everything for everyone. It's a family owned and family friendly restaurant. Forat time going and I felt right at home. They truly are amazing here. I went on a very busy day and they made sure everything was right. Lots of laughs with Jose who was the best, his smile and jokes are contagious. I have hopes for this place. Husband had the pasole which was authentic and delicious. Daughter had the club sandwich that was very good. I had the 2 piece fish and chips. The battery was delicious and crispy. The fries could have been cooked a bit longer but over all a good meal. They have a very wide menu right now. Hope they will trim it down to their most requested items so they will have a better chance of surviving long term. We met Noe. Very nice man with great customer service. Tried for the first timr for breakfast. Ordered the chili and cheese omelette. Definitely underwhelming meal. Chili mostly beans very little cheese and a little salty. The small portion of hash browns was disappointing. One slice of toast. Had to ask for salsa to top it. After the meal was the only time they offered to top off my coffee. LOVE! My husband and I stumbled upon this place and I'm so glad we did! The food was fantastic, our waiter (a younger guy, 20s or early 30s, I wish I got his name) was very attentive and friendly. The food was amazing and there were so many options we'll have to go back.
