A great new choice for boba in the nice area of Solano. Be prepared to taste more of the tea here. There's no need for sugar customization because it's mildly sweet compared to other boba joints. I appreciate that you can actual taste your tea of choice rather than all the syrups. Very clean and sleek interior with about 12 very comfortable seating areas. You can bring back your cup or bring your own and get $.25 off your next drink. The cups are quite sturdy. Good on them for trying to be environmentally friendly. They still use plastic straws, but I appreciate the effort. We got the cream oolong and regular milk tea with boba. The boba had a nice chew and taste. This was the fourth and last BTS cupsleeve we went to before flying back home to Hawaii. We came on 03/20/2022 and as of that date, the inside of the shop was not opened to the public. You have to order via their website or the QR code on the window. They have a table set up blocking entrance inside so order ahead of time if you can and pickup your drinks. Since it was a cupsleeve event we waited about 20 minutes to get our drinks. Their boba was definitely different than what I was used to. For example, a lot of the BTS fruit drinks we ordered tasted like it had club soda in it or carbonated water. If you're not used to that kind of taste, I can see how it's off-putting to have a sparkling fruit tea LOL. But I actually quite enjoyed. The fruit teas in Hawaii don't have a sparkling taste to it so for me it was nice! Overall, it was located on the main road so make sure to find street parking nearby or by Safeway (we parked by Safeway and quickly made our order and left). I thought the town it was located it was nice and quiet. I would definitely come back. The only reason why I gave it 4-stars is because it would have been nice if their dining area was open to sit and relax. This industry in particular tends to be terrible about producing waste that will last forever so I am not going to include that. My lizard brain only want sugar, not sustainability. But you can recycle the cups so I don't see what the problem is that other reviews care so deeply about. The employee who served me for my first visit was informative, kind, and very familiar with most of the menu! Pretty great for a place that has only been open less than a month. I ordered a Matcha Berry Berry Latte with less Berry Berry and no sugar and the first sip reminded me a little of cereal milk but in a really good way! After that it just got better and better. The matcha powder is yummy. If you're watching your sugar intake, this one will still satisfy your sweet cravings without utterly decimating your pancreas! I imagine all of the other matcha lattes are equally satisfying. It just does not need any added sugar to taste good! I also tried their premium milk tea which I was informed "already tastes like the boba." You cannot go wrong with this one! It's apparently red jade black tea which explains its sweet notes/fragrance. I still added boba though, because duh. The boba is good quality. Not the best/chewiest I've ever had, but the brown sugar flavor comes through. I forced myself to get less sweet and it's better for me but I like sweet things, so I'll have to come back and just try extra sweet next time after I've depleted my glycogen supply or something. Conclusion: this is good stuff! WiFi is strong enough, they have a restroom, and the prices are not exorbitant. Great first impression! I might like Nomi more now post-pandemic than I did pre-pandemic. All ordering must be done online which is great because you can order in advance and pick up without waiting (as opposed to before when I would order in person and have to wait 10 min for my drink because Nomi is so popular. They used to just put the drinks out on the table for pick up but now they are behind the table as I think they had too many thefts. They have a wide variety of flavored teas that utilize fresh fruit (!!) and high quality ingredients. My go to order is mango green tea with lychee jelly. The place was really busy when it opened at 1pm on a Sunday. The place was set up with a table at the doorway so customers can't go inside and instead, they pick up their drinks in the front. They only do online orders (we found out after waiting for someone to come in the front) and it's probably best to order even before they open (at 1pm) on the weekends cuz they get really busy. I got Mikrokosmos, 50% sweet, no ice, with passionfruit dolphin jelly. It's a lemon lime spritzer, and was really refreshing, especially since it was hot. I don't like my drinks too sweet, so I purposely chose 50% sweetness, which was perfect for me, but I wouldn't recommend this if you like sweet drinks. I've never seen passionfruit dolphin jelly anywhere, so I had to try it out. They shaped really nicely and are extremely cute! After attending a family lunch down the way in Emeryville my bf and I took this opportunity to look for a boba spot in the area. We're not in the South Bay too often so it was the perfect time to hop onto Yelp and find a boba spot to try. Nomi Tea came up and after seeing they closed in 55 mins and only a 13 min drive from where we were we made it our mission to stop by. We found parking right outside. We walked up to the location only to realize they are only doing online orders. So like others have mentioned, you need to either have a computer or smart phone to place an order. When ordering they recommended regular sweet if you're a first time Nomi Tea customer. So we took their recommendation and got one regular Milk Tea (whole milk + boba) and a Rose Milk Tea (whole milk + boba). I love when they give you options for the dairy portion however, we weren't sure which one to choose for our drinks so we stuck our heads in and asked what milk they typically use for a basic milk tea. They confirmed whole milk. There is an additional charge for this option. No extra charge for non dairy creamer if I remember correctly. We ordered while we were outside. Did not take long. Maybe 5 mins and then I approached to let them know I was waiting on two drinks. They confirmed my name and we were on our way. Not going to lie, my Rose Milk Tea tasted a lot like celery the first couple of sips. I couldn't figure out what it taste like until my bf took a sip and said "it's good! Taste like celery kind of" and we both laughed at the thought of how our brain works lol. After a couple more sips it started to taste like a Rose Milk Tea. The regular milk tea my bf got was different but very authentic and fresh. We chose the regular sweetness and it didn't taste very sweet. Whenever a new boba shop opens up, I get super excited to try it out! I dropped by again after a while and it's just as good as I remembered! The staff there are super nice and there's even a super adorable store pup too! All their drinks are natural and they don't use powder which is a HUGE PLUS FOR ME! The lobby is closed (as of 8/13/22) but you can still order online through their website. They weren't taking walk up orders. I ordered a Thai Tea with brown sugar boba at 50% sweetness. It took about 15 minutes to get my drink. I really enjoyed the brown sugar boba, I normally get honey boba. Their 50% sweetness had just a touch of sweet which was what I was looking for. Apparently, they use real taro; if there's a next time, I might try that! I found this place on Yelp while out running errands. When I first came up there was 2 people outside in line. The store still has Covid procedures in play so you can't come in the store there is a table in fount of the front door. They had just told the 2 guests their orders would take 10 mins. I thought that was a bit long but I also had time so it wasn't a big deal for me. I orders from the QR code in the window because the sign on the other window didn't give me a good idea of what drinks they carried. I ordered the Purple Milk. It was really thick and creamy like a avocado smoothie which was odd. It also wasn't cold it was lukewarm. I'm not sure I'll be back. Just a few months ago, I was lamenting about how Solano really needed a nice boba shop. Lo and behold, Nomi arrives on the scene! They are on a soft opening right now, so limited hours and selection. The crew are knowledgeable and nice. The shop is spacious and well-decorated. The chairs! They are padded and provide great back support--they did not overlook the little things. The menu has a wide variety of options, and you can customize the sweetness level of your drink. The drink portions are very generous. As I have recently become obsessed with matcha lattes, getting that was a no brainer. 50% sweetness was perfect for me--a hint of sweet without overpowering the matcha flavor. Classic milk tea was good, exactly what you would want from a good boba shop. The brown sugar boba added a unique sweetness to the premium milk tea, but was a bit too sweet for my liking. And the cream top oolong! Oh man! The cream is thick--like a a cross between a good, homemade whipped cream and a mascarpone cream--not too sweet, with a slight tang that compliments the tea so well. Ambience was nice, especially since it's on the little strip on Albany by Solano. Inside is really big, inviting, and bright. Staff and customer service was just ok. Not too friendly but the girl who brought our drinks out went up to us directly which kind of made up for it. Boba wise, they have a lot of good sounding drinks but the matcha mango latte I got wasn't too promising being that it just tasted really watered down. I'm assuming I may have just gotten the wrong drink to try? The Mochi donuts and custard cake weren't fresh at all though. Literally tasted flavorless and even though I've never had Mochi donuts I definitely don't think they were supposed to taste the way they did. It was the perfect blend of mildly sweet and sour grapefruit flavor with refreshing jasmine green tea. We added brown sugar boba (75 cents, which is 25 cents more than regular boba), and the flavor was on point. I would have preferred the boba to be slightly chewier. I would also have preferred there to be more boba than what we were given for the premium price. Overall, drink and boba flavor are spot on. Boba texture and quantity could use a little work. A bright, clean space with refreshing teas! I've tried the classic milk teas, spritzers and the cream crowns; they're all great choices, but the fruit drinks are really where Nomi stands out. (My personal favorite is the Cream crown strawberry green tea.) The owner says he personally sources all the teas they use and you can taste the fresh fruit in your drink, so the drinks are definitely worth it at their price point. The reusable cups are also a nice touch! The shop is well-lit and spacious, and I like being able to see the drinks being made in front of me.
