We usually come here whenever we visit but last night was such a disappointment. The waitress messed up on our order twice and there's only two of us. I ordered a small and was charged for a large and my husband ordered his with fried rice and got regular rice. My veggie dish came or like a hot mess (forgot to take pic ugh) and it was on the sweet side. We're very disappointed as this is our usual place to go. Won't be back anytime soon or maybe if we are we will order the usual which is their soups. read more

Here for lunch early in the week with colleagues. This is a value lunch spot for sure. Food above average prices near ridiculously low. My lunch was $6 including a drink and no tax (odd, but cool). After tip, lunch at a sit down place for $8; unheard of in greater Monterey area. This place has one of those very popular college eatery ambiance that is ALWAYS packed for lunch with a line out the door. Get here early if you don't want to wait. Granted, this place is very busy, and a little bit of a dive, but service was great, food was great, and price was a crazy value. I very much enjoyed my lunch and will be back for sure. Waited for several minutes at the counter to place an order. (The place is slow and not very busy). When someone finally came up very slowly to the counter, not really caring to help me, they were incapable of finding Fried Chicken on the menu. They must be new. Five minutes another lady came to help her with the order I had to state order all over again. This lady was rude and condescending and she turns out to be Manager. They didn't apologize for their rude behavior or try to be courteous, even upon a call back later they continued tried to make it my fault for asking for chicken, wow. This is the third time I tried this to order from this place will very similar results. So sad, I mean how hard is it to be kind and courteous? I will not waste money on pricey food with rude condescending people. I recommend a new manager and staff, it's really not that hard to be kind. read more

Love this place! I've eaten here twice and have loved everything I've had. The staff is all very nice and attentive. I've been looking for a good Pho place for a while and I've definitely found it! I've had the egg rolls and the chicken Pho and it has lived up to my expectations and been super good every time! It's also very moderately priced. I've also tried a few different of their Boba milk tea options and have enjoyed them. I recently tried one of their boba smoothies (blueberry) and found that to be even more delicious then I would've imagined. We were lucky to get there at 5:45pm and snag one of the last two tables before the big dinner rush. Staff was courteous , pleasant and prompt. We ordered the spring rolls, combo pho, dry noodles with lemongrass chili chicken and combo fried rice. We were just getting situated when the spring rolls appeared. Ordered the Combination Pho in recommendation of our waitress. She referred to it as "surf and turf." There was plenty of turf in my bowl, but one piece of shrimp was a joke. I asked the waitress if it was a mistake, and she said, "the shrimp is the most expensive, so you only get one." It was also supposed to have meatball in it. I had one slice of a meatball. False advertising by menu and waitress. Otherwise, the boiled shrimp spring roll was good, the service quick and the pho was hot. BTW their idea of fresh basil is a tired excuse. I do not know what happened to this place! I was a regular, at least twice a week, and I always referred customers if they wanted the best pho, stir fried rice, or steamed buns. My last visit was horrendous. Started with horrible treatment by the host. She looked at the number of people with us grabbed menus and walked to a table, placed the menus on the table and walked away. No dialogue. She just walked away. Next was our server. Keep in mind we are REGULARS! We know what we want to order. She comes to our table and asks if we are ready. We say yes. We also say we are ready to order. She then asks for our drinks. We give her our drink order. We then tell her we are ready to order as well. She takes our drink orders and leaves.... I have put too much effort into this negative experience. People were even coming in for their pick up orders! After drinking my coffee boba & eating the fabulous spicy beef & veggies, I can see why this place deserves 5 stars!! Been going here for years and it NEVER disappoints. The broth for the pho is always amazing. Chicken or pork with BBQ or oyster sauce is also great. Love the 5 spice wings. If I could I would give this a 0 star restaurant. We had came here once before today and had a bad experience. After months of not going, we decided to take my in-laws to dinner here. Hoping the second time around would be better. I guess not! We order our food and drinks. My daughter and I order their boba drinks and mind you, it usually comes in a plastic cup right?! Just like everyone else in that restaurant. But no, it came in a regular soda cup. Ok, whatever. We brushed it off. Then, my husband and my mother in law receive their food (vermicelli). They have 2 sizes. Regular and large. My husband ends up receiving the regular instead of the large that he had ordered. So they bring it back. Then we wait again. So at this point my husband and my father in law are still waiting for food. They come back and give my husbands food and still nothing for my father in law. My husband asks for chopsticks and when he rips the paper to get to his chopsticks, some type of powder starts flying out!!!! Who knows what the hell that was! So now that powdery stuff is all over his sweater and all over his food! So he tells the waiter and they take it back and tell him they will get him another bowl. Mind you, my father in law is STILL waiting for his food! Maybe 10 mins after, my father in law receives his food. My husband waits and waits. My in laws are literally done with their food and my husband still hasn't received his food. At this point he was done! He tells the waiter just to put it in a to go box because we needed to go. Another note, we got there around 6:30pm and we got out by 8:30. That's waiting for a table and going through all of that! NEVER AGAIN! read more

So it's safe to say that my fiancé and I eat here at least once a week. The food is delicious. We always order on the phone, pick up, and enjoy at home. It's always PACKED and super busy. I love the food in this establishment, but I have a major problem with how sanitary they are. I was there last night and they had an Asian guy doing various duties which included emptying trash and providing refills to the cooks for food preparation. The problem I had was that the guy had on a pair of gloves, but he NEVER changed them in between trash disposal and food handling; this is a major food issue brewing! Also, when the wait staff brings food out they should be cognizant of people standing around waiting for orders, I felt that the food could be exposed to whatever in transit. read more

BEST PHO in Monterey county area. Hands down. Their food never lets me down. This place is always busy so expect a 5-10 minute wait. The food is well priced for huge portions and comes out at a reasonable time. They also have a wide variety of flavors for boba lovers. They're priced at 2.50-3.50 which is decent. Marina is adrift of many good dining choices but Noodle Bar is a bright light. The food is comforting and tasty and comes quickly after ordered. They are gracious about orders if not satisfied. Even when I ordered what I thought was Vietnamese Udon but actually was regular Udon they replaced it with what I intended with a smile and all was well. Is this place ever NOT busy? Crazy reasonable prices & decent quality. I usually opt for the 5 Spice Chicken (Dry Noodle Bowl). Felt like experimenting & added the goi cuon as well though (I wish I took a pic), it looked like whoever rolled it had never handled a spring roll in their life. Even "I" could've rolled a better spring roll, blindfolded... Rice paper was soaking too long so it was stretchy/sticky (had to tear them apart from their counterparts in the to-go container) & the innards were sloppily thrown in, inconsistent & not evenly distributed. It was so loosely rolled that after the first bite, the roll came apart, with sprouts & rice noodles leaking all over the place... Peanut sauce was a bland watery mess as well (even when adding sriracha). If you're going to advertise as a legit Vietnamese spot, step up your goi cuon game... One of the most disappointing rolls I've ever had... Americanized, Asian-Fare (haven't yet tried the Pho), but as far as a cheap-ass noodle option when passing through town (they have a location in Seaside as well btw), it usually hits the spot. Highly suggest calling your order ahead as there is ALWAYS a line, a single register & service is slower than molasses... May try some other recommended options which could potentially increase by at least another star, but for now we're at a Solid 3... I was heading out to Castroville for work and popped into the Noodle Bar enroute for my lastest liquid pleasure obsession, the Boba Tea, a.k.a Bubble Tea. Went with the Avocado Boba Smoothie this time. Lots of sweet ingratiating flavors punctuated by a mix of fresh avocados and chewy tapioca pearls. Much better than the one at Chopstix. Pressed for time, I had to forgo ordering any food items during my visit. Every seat was snatched up and scores were pouring in from all directions. The dishes coming out of the kitchen looked very good. I grabbed a menu to look over. The offerings are vast and prices are very inviting. I've been raised on great pho. So, I might be a bit spoiled. Of all the foods tried: The spring rolls were good. The dipping sauce for the spring rolls tasted like it came out of jar and lacked any kind of texture. It was like puree baby food. Normally, it should have some crushed nuts to give it a crunchy finish. The egg rolls taste like they are bought from the freezer section at Costco. Egg rolls sauce was weak and store bought. My husband's dry noodle bowl was really greasy. At the end of his bowl, there was actually oil that was just sitting at the bottom. The lettuce looked like it was tossed in from a Safeway salad kit. What really made me sad about this place was the pho. I got the raw beef pho, which is just some lean thin sliced steak. But, my pho broth was so greasy that after a few sips of broth, my lips and mouth were coated in grease. That's my run down on the food. The service was "meh". Our first time there, we picked out what we wanted right away. But, we weren't sure about portion sizes. My husband asked the waitress what the size difference was between regular and large. She did this weird sigh, rolled her eyes and said "well, it's like a third more meat in the large than if you get the regular. Haven't you been here before?" Even if we ate there every single day and we wanted to ask a simple question, I think someone that works on tips would at least try to keep the attitude to a minimum. read more

We made a really quick stop in Marina @ Noodle Bar for bobas and appetizers: PINA COLADA milk tea with boba - worst boba beverage I have ever had; watery, no flavor whatsoever. PORK BUNS (cha siu bao) - worst pork bun I have ever had, bun was dry and stale (not fluffy), pork was dry like a canned meat, and the very red sauce---indescribable---not in a positive way. (It didn't taste like pork marinated in barbeque sauce or hoisin sauce, or anything like what's in the Chinese pork buns I'm accustomed to). SPRING ROLL WITH GRILLED SHRIMP - very good, flavorful grilled shrimp. I don't care for peanut butter dipping sauce, but I liked the spring roll. This is a small place in the back side of a shopping center. It seems pretty popular. If I stop by again, I'll try out a noodle dish. read more
