Wrong Order & Rude Response from "Management"
At 7:32 PM, I called in an order for two plates at the Noodle Bar on Reservation in Marina. I had to call about four times before someone eventually picked up the phone. I asked for a large order of fried rice with BBQ chicken on top and a large order of chow mien with BBQ chicken on top. The person on the phone was very kind and said the food would be ready in ten to fifteen minutes. We went and picked up the food and went on our way.
Upon getting home and opening our meals, we realized we had gotten the wrong food. I had gotten two orders with 50% chicken and then one of the orders had the other half full of plain white rice and the other filled with plain noodles. At this point in time, it was around 8:15 PM, and I decided to try giving them a call. After getting declined three times, someone finally picks up and says "Marina". So I tell them I received the wrong food. They don't say a word and within about 20 seconds I am now on the phone with what I think is a manager. I explain the situation and he immediately cuts me off and says there was a miscommunication on my end and that I received "exactly what I ordered." I responded by explaining I have called in that exact same order with the same wording at the same time before and not gotten this (and had gotten the correct meal that I had ordered). He responds with "NO shit." classy. He goes on to fumble at explaining how what I got, plain steamed rice, is what I order, which was fried rice. He even took a shot at trying to tell me that the plain noodles I received on the side were in fact chow mien. He goes, "well the noodles you got are the noodles we use in the chow mien, so you basically got chow mien." So I explain to him that I can't seem to rationalize how my order of fried rice and chow mien turned into plain rice and plain noodles. So he gives up on trying to tell me that plain steamed white rice is the fried rice I ordered and goes on to make an offer. "You enjoy your meals tonight. Eat up. Next time you come in, ask for me." He pauses for a few seconds, "I'm not going to pay for your meal, but maybe we can work something out."
For the record, I recently submitted a complaint to Panda Express about barely giving me any chow mien in my take out order, and they responded within a day by refunding my order, giving me a gift card and sending a very kind email. THAT is customer service.
So anyway, if you want to get food that you didn't order, spend ten minutes getting told it is your fault by an incompetent manager, and get no refund or replacement whatsoever, Noodle Bar Marina is your place :)
Also, prices have recently increased and the chicken tonight was incredibly burnt. I wish I could give zero stars. read more
