This place... 10/10 all across the board. I placed an online order & immediately received a phone call from the staff making sure I knew the difference between their lo mien vs. chow mien. They wanted to ensure I got exactly what I expected/wanted because every restaurant has a different spin on the classics. The lady informed me that she had no prior orders from me so she wanted to make sure I ordered correctly, then immediately corrected my mistake when I confirmed that I did indeed mean the lo mien. That alone shows the exquisite customer service they offer, but if that's not enough... THE FOOD!!! It was absolutely incredible, everything was cooked, sauced, & seasoned to absolute perfection. It genuinely hit all the right spots & I had to practice self control not to gorge myself. It is truly phenomenal, not to mention it was ready insanely fast!! We placed the order, immediately left our house, & by the time we got there it was ready! It was also MASSIVE portions with an extremely fair price. I don't know how to feel about the food. It's wasn't bad but it wasn't good. I order the General Tso Chicken special that comes with fried rice and an egg roll. My husband got the Mongolian Beef special. Let's start with what we didn't like. The egg roll. It was said to be pork but there wasn't pork in it, quite honestly it should not be on the menu. I'm sorry but it tastes like the frozen egg rolls you buy at a supermarket market. My kid and husband both spit it out. The Mongolia beef was good, but there were way more vegetables than meat. The General Tso Chicken, was just okay. It wasn't to my spice preference but it was cooked good. The fried rice was also just okay. Overall I wouldn't put Panda Garden on my list of go to places if I'm looking for a meal to make me happy dance while eating. Best pork fried rice in Alaska! Fast and efficient service. Steaming hot yummy pork fried rice!

I picked up several large portions of food to serve at a family dinner recently. We went with shrimp in garlic sauce, beef with broccoli, sweet & sour pork, roast pork fried rice, and vegetable lo mein. I also got 2 small portions of gluten free vegetarian items. Our food was ready at the time we requested. The lady working the cashier was very nice and included a complimentary dessert in our order, which was sweet red bean stuffed sesame balls. All the food tasted good. My favorite was the lo mein noodles which were saucy, chewy and delicious. My husband said the pork in the sweet and sour pork was a little dry, but other than that we ate everything and everyone in our family enjoyed their meal. Even our gluten free vegetarian. We order by phone quite regularly and we have a standard order. Just now my husband did the order online and realized he'd ordered chow mein rather than lo mein, but he'd already ordered. This restaurant is by far the filthiest restaurant in Fairbanks. Health code violations left and right. I watched them thaw chicken in a bowl of water, right below a pair of dripping gloves and chemicals on the shelf above. Absolutely disgusting. The food smells and looks horrible as well. It is a wonder they are still open. Fairbanks really deserves better cleanliness in the restaurant establishments around here, but this one, should be shut down. The white lady is rude and bitter for absolutely no reason, people are spending their hard earned money on crappy service & disgusting food. Absolutely unacceptable. I knew that the chance of finding decent Chinese food in Fairbanks would be a long shot, but this was by far the worst Chinese food I've ever had in my entire life. The Pork Fried Rice had about 3 quarter-inch cubes of pork in the entire dish and was closer to plain rice than anything else. The General Tso's Chicken was a flavorless slop, and the fried chicken wings were truly disgusting - I think they were battered with styrofoam. The fact that this place has some positive reviews is mind-boggling. I can't believe it survives as a business. The food is astonishingly, embarrassingly bad. When I arrived to pick up, cooks were in the back busy prepping and cooking. One guy in the back was closing the lid and sauce spilled on the lid. He swiped the sauce clean with his finger and put his entire finger in his mouth. He saw me looking at him and we locked eyesAwkward. Growing up in NYC finding a good Chinese take out place is essential when I move somewhere new. After the last 9 years in Texas where it was alright at best, and I could do better in my own kitchen at worst... my hopes weren't too high for Alaska. However the moment I saw this menu I knew I was going to be in for a treat. Chicken chow mein! I was super stoked The place is small and looks to be family run, perfect for take out. I got the chow mein and my husband got the orange chicken. The servings are huge and we were both very happy. We also ordered the pork dumplings fried, but I don't think we will be getting those again. It was decent flavor but nowhere near as fried as we prefer. But we will be back to try more menu items in our stay here. read more

I got take out from here last night. I knew when I arrived to get it I'd made a mistake in ordering from here. Staff was standing around eating pizza completely unaware of the order I'd put in online so I got to stand there and watch them eat pizza and not wash hands before cooking. The people at front desk were unfriendly. The place was filthy. As I waited for food I just watched one DEC violation after another it was disgusting. Food was terrible garbage. Flavorless mush. Our food arrived hot and fresh in about 40 minutes. Everything was delicious! Huge portions and very affordable. The online ordering was super easy too! My only complaint is the sauce in my food spilled all over the bag and made a bit of a mess. Not a huge deal though! Overall it exceeded expectations and I will definitely be ordering again! I tried the garlic shrimp combo with egg drop soup a pint of plain lo mein and my boyfriend had the marinated beef skewers and beef fried rice. We were in the area looking for some decent Chinese food when we stumbled upon Panda Garden. It's a small take-out restaurant in the middle of a strip mall, but as they say, good things come in small packages! The staff was very friendly and helpful. My husband and I both decided on the General Tso's chicken combo with wonton soup and an egg roll... and it was all delicious! There were three rather large wontons in the soup, as opposed to mostly broth, which many restaurants tend to do these days. The egg rolls had great flavor and crunch, and the General Tso's chicken was spot on - sweet with a little kick! Unfortunately, I wish I had remembered to ask for a fork; I'm not the most skilled at eating with chopsticks! Thankfully, I was able to slurp the soup and stab the pieces of chicken with a chopstick! This was my first time here and I will NOT be returning. The only plus was large portions and they let me substitute crab rangoon for the egg roll. The woman who took my order was beyond rude both on the phone and in person. She was also eating chips and dip while taking orders and handing the food. I'm not a germaphobe but you should not be eating finger food while managing customer's orders. The restaurant was filthy from the front lobby to what I could see of the kitchen. I got the general tso's combination and it was way too sweet for me. The crab Rangoon was disappointing. There was next to no filling and they were burnt. Save your money and go to Lin's. read more

I would give this no stars if possible. I went in on a Saturday night at 930pm to pick up take out food. What I witnessed wanted to make me call the food sanitation police. They had at least 5 workers who were cleaning the floors and cubbards with chemicals right over and around food that was cooking. I witnessed chemicals fall into food and they tried to serve it to customers. I asked what the chemicals were and the woman behind the desk could not tell me.
