Stir Fried "Pork Belly" with Chilis
    Samantha Z.

ordered the pork belly rice noodle soup and DID NOT get pork belly. old pictures depict fatty chunks of pork belly and what i got instead were the leaner cuts of meat because they said they "ran out" of the thicker cuts of belly. apparently, according to other posts, this is probably an excuse for now cutting corners

Super good pork noodles!! Love the flavor so much. The restaurant has enough seats and no long line on weekends. Also the noodle is of reasonable price

I ordered their takeout once. It was decent but got partially ruined by the messy delivery (see my previous review). Given all the raving reviews about this place, I decided to try dining-in. We came for a weekend lunch at rush hour. Luckily we got seated right away at the last empty table. We got one Chicken Gizzards rice noodle, one Pork Belly rice noodle, one spicy toothpick beef, and one tofu skin salad. The noodle dishes were average - the chicken gizzards noodle wasn't as flavorful as I expected. The spicy level was low even with the house-made chili sauce. The sourness of the pickled radish, which I love, didn't mix in well with the other parts. I had lots of expectations coming in, but this was nowhere close to the average rice noodles in Changsha. Both the toothpick beef and the tofu skin salad were delicious.

One of my favorite hole in the wall restaurants! Detailed breakdown below: **Decor & cleanliness, 5/5** Decor is low-key but everything is clean. **Price & portion, 5/5** About $15 for such a hearty and satisfying bowl of noodle soup. **Presentation of the food, 5/5** Simple, but that's all you need with comfort food. **Taste of the food, 5/5** My go to here is the stewed pork belly with flat rice noodles. The broth is luscious but not heavy, and I like this more than both pho and ramen. The lean part of the pork isn't super tender, but balances the silky noodles perfectly. And the fatty bits just melt in your mouth! Make sure to get some of the broth in every bite, it's seriously delicious. **Other notes** Plenty of parking!

Hidden gem if you love sour and spicy but I died a little from the spice. Service was nonexistent; we needed more napkins to deal with the spice but it was impossible to flag down the server. Rice noodles with chicken gizzards & pickled radish and chili (4.5/5): the rice noodles' texture was so smooth and fun to slurp on. The pickled radish and chili was too sour for my liking but it's really flavorful and apparently it's really authentic. We ordered medium spice but it was way way way too spicy for my weak spice tolerance (but I feel like I'm pretty average compared to other Americans). I guess hunan people eat a lot of spicy food so I probably should have known to dial down the spice when I ordered. Spicy toothpick beef (2.5/5): such a cute concept but wish the beef was a bit more tender. It was also surprisingly sour :/

Solid bowl of Chinese-style noodles that's hearty and easy on the stomach rather than exploding with flavor. Flavors are definitely on the milder side, so definitely more for the Chinese palette. Only tried their soup noodles this time round, but I look forward to grabbing a bowl of their dry noodles when I'm in the mood. Parking for the spot is pretty easy to find being in the middle of a strip next to a Bed Bath and Beyond. The entrance was boxed off in a strange way, but they're open for both takeout and indoor dining. Service was to the point in that classic 'efficient asian mom & pop' store style, so don't expect waitstaff checking in on you all the time (this is reflected in the decor too). Food came out pretty quickly though. We ordered a Beef Brisket egg noodle and a Stewed Pork Belly rice noodle. Broth was solid and hearty, though on the milder side (the beef brisket wasn't terribly spicy for instance). My personal bowl's egg noodles were on the gummy/flour-ey side and was pretty distracting from the rest of the bowl. After trying my brother's bowl, the rice noodles were much cleaner and I'd highly recommend you stick to that one if given the choice. Bowls are pretty big, so the serving size is good for the price. Toppings tasted fresh and the brisket had a good amount of the tendon in it (again as per authentic Chinese tastes). The pork belly tasted fresh as well. All-in-all a solid choice if you're in the mood for rice-noodle fixings.

The waiter's attitude is too bad, we ordered a spiced egg, but did not give us the spiced egg when serving, but when we added the money for the spiced egg, we told her that there was no egg, and then she did not believe it on her face, after deducting the money for the spiced egg, she directly left the bill on our table and left, and the boss came to take the bill.

Food was waiting for me by the time I arrived for pick up. Stewed beef brisket Two choices for noodles: "noodle" or "rice noodle". Not the most descriptive, but you can assume that "noodle" is of the spaghetti variety. Broth was great, not deep and rich like the best noodle houses, but definitely top notch. Plenty of tender beef slices and green onion bits make up the rest of the stew. Chicken Gizzards with Pickled Radish & Chili I am admittedly freakish to crave chicken gizzards on occasion, and this was on of those cravings - the amount of gizzards was noticeably disproportionate to the noodle bits and radishes - so I was left with a lot of radish and veggies at the end. Otherwise, good spice levels. Stir Fried Pork Belly with Chilis Did not sample, but part of our order - picture included. Stir Fried Cabbage Simple, with a light, tart sauce - good enough to eat alone, or to accompany with any of the other entrees. Healthy too!

I ordered a stewed beef brisket on the doordash and found a staple nail in the food!!!! It's a safety concern.

We waited for probably 15-20 minutes which wasn't too bad. The place is pretty big and fits a good amount of people. The food was great. Every single dish that we got was so good and packed with comfort and flavor. The veggies were well cooked, my favorite was the beef rolls. I would recommend checking this place out.

They have also opened a location in Cupertino that is more convenient for me. Adding Mian to this plaza definitely livened it up, it was so difficult finding parking and then there was an hour wait when we joined the waitlist. We wandered around Grocery Outlet and Savers to pass the time. I came with a group of 6 people. We ordered the sichuan spicy fries and fried chicken cutlet to share. The fries were the spiciest item I had that day, wow! I ordered the Sichuan chicken cold noodles, extra spicy. They were not spicy at all. I left everyone at the table try them and they all agreed it was not spicy. Kind of disappointing, I expected them to be spicier than the fries at least. My partner had the chengdu zajiang noodles, mild spicy. They were good, the signature dish of the restaurant. I would return, but their spice levels are very inconsistent.

In general, their dim sum was better than dinner, but tonight's dishes are worth mentioning. The good: 1. steamed lobster with rice vermicelli: good flavor and fresh lobster. All lobster pieces were cut open, making it easy to eat. 2. beef steak with broccoli: the beef was so soft! The 0.5cm thickness makes it perfect size to bite down. 3. BBQ plate: loads of goodies, with my favorite cha siu, jelly fish, and pork belly cubes. 4. Soup with morel and chicken. Loads of morels! Could use a bit more salt but it's not that big a deal. The ones that could be improved: 1. small silver fish fried with egg yolk coating: a bit chewy, but good flavor. 2. sea cucumber stuffed with shrimp paste: indeed a hard to make dish at home, so we were all excited. But the sea cucumber was not well flavored; instead, it tasted quite fishy and earthy. Too bad this expensive dish was only half consumed. The bean sprouts at the bottom were a lot more desirable. 3. salt pepper chicken: it was seasoned with salt and pepper powder, but not cooked with salt at the pan, so the chicken lacks the heat and dryness from salt. At the night, a wedding reception was in place, but we were able to seat at the next room and enjoyed our noisy and loud cheers.
