It is not the generic dish you get at most thai places. This is unique in the type of ingredients they used. Fresh black pepper stalks, bamboo shoots, lemongrass, lotus root, ginger. Everything in that dish tasted heavenly. Royal Pineapple Fried rice also tasted so great. Food was spicy exactly how we enjoyed it. Medium spicy can be a little spicier than usual, but we enjoyed it. Good classic Thai spot! Located in Sunnyvale, it's a convenient lunch spot for the work week. The menu I got had a separate vegetarian section with many options. The vegetarian pad see ew had no egg so I'm assuming it is most likely vegan. I came here for dinner with my friend and it was great! Just classic, comforting, yummy Thai food at a reasonable price - we got the drunken noodles with tofu and veggies and it was so delicious. The tofu had the perfect texture that I love at Thai restaurants, and the dish had a good spice level. So I always loved coming here whether it was busy or not but three issues have come up that has changed my opinion of this restaurant. The first being a couple of years back I used to buy just plain garlic noodles for a low flat cost and there was an agreement I made with a shorter guy who I presumed was the cook and owner at the time. Later affer that I came here for lunch and told the old lady working there as a waitress how much I loved the garlic noodles. I don't know who decided to bring me a large plate of it but I only had some of it because it was simply too much. When I brought up the issue of the final increased cost I questioned it and the old lady told me jokingly that she would go out of business if she gave me extra garlic noodles every time I ordered but I told her I didn't order these and expected more. So I believe that was her doing: to give more and charge more thinking i had accepted that but I never did. I was pretty upset about this to come back for a couple of years. Recently, I returned and once again had lunch but barely ate my pad see ew noodles and asked for the plastic box to put my food inside. The taller guy working here as chef and manager too was refusing and wouldn't even let me pay him for it. Eventually he let me take one to put my nearly still full plate of noodles in. I had to beg him for a smaller container to put the peanut sauce inside but he gave me two of those smaller containers typically used for soups so I placed my plain salad inside one and the peanut sauce salad in the other. So because of this I was late for a zoom appt I had by 8 minutes and then was forced me to wait another hour and a half before another chance to do the appt. One other issue is I was charged for my lunch which I believe should have been $15.00 but they charged $15.50 even though I ordered noodles with only small pieces of chopped broccoli and one egg. I didn't need the egg but they nearly enforced it for me to get at least one egg with my noodles. So I agreed. The biggest problem is I was charged for my meal plus 20% tip when I was already planning on not tipping anything at all. The middle aged woman who took my order yesterday and helped me pay charged me $20.02 and I asked her why my meal cost only $15.00 but was charged $20? She said because there was a tip. Excuse me????? I didn't agree to that! So I checked my bank account this morning and saw that this restaurant had charged me twice and with tip. Instead of cancelling it and removing the tip she merely printed out a copy of my receipt with it saying payment was already made. The receipt also listed 5 different percentages for tip and none were chosen yet in my bank this restaurant has attempted to charge me twice for the amount I already did not agree on, the $20.02. Now I have to go back to my bank and explain it to them again. It was not enough for them to force me to pay tip when I didn't have an entirely good or pleasant experience now I'm wrongly charged double for everything. The food is great and always has been but it's the post meal service that needs work. If the lady just let me pay right at the cash register instead of her iPad I don't believe any of this would have happened because technology is not always accurate. I got the curry noodles and when I tell yall it was like heaven. I didn't even want to eat the soup cause the flavor was just perfect. Sweet creamy and savory. I ordered with medium spice and the noodles too were so yummy! It was interesting how hot it stayed and just long enough for you to be able to let the noodles cook because they're crispy at first. The flavor, noodles, the egg and the presentation overall was so good. I also tried mango sticky rice for the first time and I liked it! Would I get it again, I don't think so BUT only because I think I need to get used to the sticky rice texture. Regardless, the cream on top was really good! Overall, great experience, I would definitely come here again if im craving Thai food. I also think the price is reasonable for how much you get; I ended up not finishing and got full but I will be eating my leftovers for lunch tomorrow after work! The best eggplant I have ever had! Each piece was juicy and soft, but not soggy. It had a good bite to it. Overall... Not too salty and the perfect amount of garlicky sauce. I love that they pair it with lots of bell peppers and basil too. All of my favorite ingredients in a stir fry!! I highly recommend the Eggplant Chicken here. A little pricey at $16 and it doesn't come with rice, but that is the standard for most Thai places around here nowadays. As soon you enter, the first thing you notice is that they went ALL OUT on the decorations. Then, you're immediately greeted and seated. You would think this place specializes in Pad Thai, but the talk seems to be about their Pad See Ew. I suggest getting this with fish. The Thai Ice Tea was also SPOT. ON. I came on a busy workday lunch! I was so surprised at how bustling and loud the restaurant was. At 12:30pm on a Thursday, I wasn't expecting it. I soon learned why it was so popular! The portions and food were good! At a busy time, I think my party of 3 waited about 15 min for a table to open up. All the tables were full, especially since the restaurant had an anticipated reservation of 9 coming in! The server was quick to recognize us and let us know of the situation -- that the wait could be long because of the expected party. She left the decision to wait to us. I appreciated learning of the big party since everyone could see the line of empty tables in the back. Once seated, we saw only her and two other individuals running to take orders and deliver food. We quickly ordered some items off of the lunch menu which was an entree, salad, and tier-choices of proteins. We ordered a chicken pad Thai, tofu pad see ewe, and chicken basil fried rice. All of the dishes were surprisingly so good! Each had an amazing aroma and cooking heat to it that made each bite better. Although each dish was a little sweet, I liked it! The roti was super flaky and was complimented well by the vegetables and curry dip. We had also ordered 3 Thai iced teas that unfortunately never arrived. We tried multiple times to get the attention of the staff to ask about our drinks but never could. So at the end of the meal, we asked to have the teas brought out in to-go cups and were charged the extra $0.50 for the price difference for each drink. That situation was unfortunate given how busy it was, but it wish there could've been a better outcome since we had anticipated the drink to compliment the meal rather than to go. Overall, I had a good experience and would consider coming again for a workday lunch. Maybe for a bigger group, I'd get the reservation table! read more

Typical Thai restaurant. Tried it during lunch and got couple of dishes to-go. They have some lunch combos / bento box for lunch time which is a great option to try a few different dishes. The lunch combo allows you to mix and match a couple of different entrees rather than the typical thai lunch combos which consist of 1 main entree with rice and salad. The lunch combo here has the option for choosing from various curries , stir fry entrees and noodles with a side. I got a combo with Green curry with Tofu, Pad Kee Maw noodles and steamed veggies. Asked for it to be made without any meat , fish. Also got the Tofu Deluxe. It consists of Tofu with veggies in a special sauce. Wasn't a fan of this dish and did not have typical thai flavors. The were obviously used frozen veggies and were not quite cooked enough for my liking. Will try some other dishes next time around. read more

This is one of my places to go for my lunch break. As you can see by the name, it's a Thai restaurant that serves very delicious foods that taste like homemade cooking. I go there alone or in a group at least once a month. The lunch specials come with a tasty salad with peanut dressing. Today I took my mini me there and since she has a peanut allergy, I told the staff and he brought the salad with peanut free dressing which was also delish and fresh. Thank you!! We ordered my favorite foods which are peanut free: beef pad see ewe (chow fan) and beef panang curry. For our drink beside ice waters we shared a whole coconut. For the entrees you can adjust the heat and normally I choose the spicy one but be warned they're serious about the level of spiciness. You can also choose the protein: tofu, chicken, shrimp, or beef. I love the beef and it's always consistently tender and flavorful, not like some other Thai restaurants the beef tastes like frozen cut beef, bland and chewy . The portion is generous, you won't go hungry. The staff are efficient and friendly. This place most of the time are busy during lunch time so be ready to wait, but you won't have problem finding a parking space even though it's a share parking space with other businesses. The ambiance is casual but you can have a date here for sure. You should try this place sometime and you won't regret it! read more

I had eaten here before and really liked the food. However, in my recent experience, I had a kitchen nightmare experience. The pad see ew was so sour; it tasted rotten and disgusting. You did not even have to taste it. The noodle and veggies already had fermented smell to it. Also, the noodles themselves were not properly microwaved, or whatever they did, because some parts of it were ice-cold. It was obvious the ingredients had been sitting in the fridge for days. BEST pad thai I have had in California!! The flavor was so good! Tom yum soup was also the best i have had!! Broth was perfection, not too overwhelming with lemongrass and not too spicy, we ordered a medium. Won Ton soul was also good. Basil fried rice was also great! Got a medium spicy but was more on the spicier side! For pad thai and rice they did take a little longer but its because they make everything fresh and its noticeable. I have been going here for years now! Used to go every month almost with work. Favorite dish: pad Thai with shrimp and the spring rolls with shrimp (ps their peanut sauce is AWESOME!) They have great curry as well and my other dish I enjoyed with chicken basil, great dish to have mixed with rice! They are always packed around lunch time, however, you can order for pick up which is nice and quick option! Even though I work in SF I always look to go here to pick up lunch! A little disappointed at this point they charge you extra $0.25 for peanut sauce and they won't give you even one if you ask to go... find that a little questionable... it's sauce your charging so much for. This place is definitely one of the "go-to" spots for my colleagues and me. We frequent this place not only because the food is good, but also because the staff is professional and polite. Whenever I come here, I always like to order the pad sea ew with beef because I've always been a huge noodles person. Personally, as someone who doesn't eat a lot of spicy food but enjoys it, the medium spicy level was just right for me. The dish also comes with a small side salad and the dish itself actually features quite large portions. In other words, the food tastes great and the portions are generous. While I'm not vegetarian myself, a lot of my colleagues are and this spot is particularly great because they offer a variety of good vegetarian food. The employees who work here are also easy to work with. I haven't had a problem with getting any staff member's attention and they're quick to tend to your needs as well. No complaints here. All in all, a great place to dine at. This restaurant has good vegetarian options, good non-vegetarian food, and great service.
