been awhile since i've been in a room filled with northern chinese accents . nice but brisk service, they primarily do takeout so there's only a few tables. dumplings are surprisingly legit (probably just slightly worse than homemade), pork baozi are very good, eggplant and chicken side dishes also very flavorful. they also serve 煎饼果子 on the weekend. will be back

If you are looking for a Chinese savory churro & soy milk breakfast, this is the best outside of China. Just pay at the counter & the server will bring your food out to you later. This is a hole in the wall but serves the best Chinese style breakfast. If you spend more than $100, they'll give you 2 free tea leaf eggs or a small soy milk free. Bon apetit!

Decided to give this a try. Please try to call ahead or WeChat order. I went there to order and it was brutal. Lots of customers and orders were not coming out efficiently. Waiting in line, ordering and then picking up my order took over an hour. Price is not cheap but I thought since there were so many people, it must be special. I ate it fresh in the car and I thought it was alright. Nothing special about the bun texture, I'll give some credit to the filling since it tasted fresh. I don't think I would go back to wait in line again.

I went there at dinner time and this is a very small and tiny restaurant. Dishes are made on the sort, not a lot of choices, but they are not salty or oily like most America Chinese food. This is in Beijing style. What did I order: 1. Beijing Crepe with green onion, crispy thins and savory sauce. 2. Shredded pork, smoked tofu and celery. 3. Mushroom chicken. Portion are big. The order come pretty fast! They have a lot of cold dishes in the trays on dispE.g.spicy chicken, soy sauce duck, veggies, tofu noodle. If you want to use credit only if you make $25 plus.

Just want to add some information for one of my favorite cafeteria in Bay Area. There are currently delivery service and promotion. Free delivery within 3 miles for order over $35. Free delivery within 5 miles for order over $50. Contact restaurant for details.

As previous photos would suggest, this is a place to pick up a cheaper meal and gtfo since they don't have tables for you to sit down and eat. I went to grab lunch on a Monday and saw only 7 options to choose from. So for $13 all in, one can choose 3 items and get a soup to go with the deal. Wish I could have furnished a better picture but no angle or filter could have made it look better. With Panda Ex can be manipulated to look better but my meal looked more like Mr.Chau's and beyond saving. Nothing exceptional about the food here...I'd say 2.5 and an uptick for the value.

Swung in for dinner and it was okay. I think we ordered the wrong things, but got excited when I saw they had jiangbing so we had to order that, Mongolian beef, salt and pepper shrimp, and shrimp chow mien. Jiangbing wasn't great. It was dry and pretty basic. It needed pork or something to boost it up like I've had elsewhere. Mongolian beef and chow mien were fine, shrimp was overcooked though. It's cheap, but not great. I'll maybe try their clay pot soups another time but my group didn't want it for this visit.

Spicy potato with a light vinegar sauce. This will never exist in PF Changs.

Out-standing!!!!! New owners. Elsie retired. Very good northern style Chinese cuisine. Northern style menu has steamed/pan fried bread items whereas southern style Chinese is mostly rice. Northern style has Lamb influences because of proximity to silk road trading route to middle east. The colder climate also brings out preserved vegetables because of cold climate vs. Southern cuisine. Cheap rent area and they are small enough so the family can keep the quality up without being inundated by volume of customers. They don't have to hire additional help they have to train. They mostly speak Chinese. Their son speaks english if he is there. Much better than anything in Cupertino/Mtn View. 1) mapo tofu... one of the best interpretations. Similar to China. You get spicy chili pepper hot and mala numbing hot. You get different textures ranging from crunchy salty pickle to medium chewy ground pork to melt in mouth tofu. You get different hot starting from tongue numb to seating. Salty as usual. 10y ago you would never see this depth of flavor or lingering sensations in a mapo tofu without going to China. Great for takeout. Can't get soggy. Lasts a long time in the fridge b/c of the intense spices. 2) homemade dumplings. not frozen. Northern style influence. They make those by hand when you order them. Very good. A must try. Soft and Chewy hand rolled dough with melt in mouth meat filling. Melt in mouth achieved by right combo of fat and veggie in the filling. The veggie adds moisture as it cooks. One of the best in the bay area. I went at 830 pm so they weren't busy. If on a busy time they may not have time to hand make these fresh for you. Stunningly mouth watering delicious. Very difficult to find good dumplings with this type of quality. You will never find this frozen b/c the textures won't last. Very delicate. 3) garlic achoy. not salty. Smoky and garlicky. Standard Chinese veggie, chewy with stem and soft with upper leaf. Popular in Taiwanese places. Very good execution; brings out the texture of the vegetable. 4) Steamed bao: hand made. Veggie filling. Freshly made daily. 5) Pan fried Chinese filled pancake. Crispy on the outside and filled wth meat/bean thread noodle. Bese in bay area. Eat while hot within 30sec to 1 minute. Will hear the crunch on the outside as you bite in. If you wait longer the crispiness disappears. They have an additional menu written in chinese and english taped on the glass by the cash register for the dumplings and chinese filled pancakes.... order from there. The main printed menu doesn't have these specials. Don't bother with the asian food in mtn view. Rent too high and too crowded so they can't take time to cook and fabricate the hand crafted dumplings and buns. Took about 15 minutes to from/steam above items. Well worth the wait. Great for take out.

The environment here is just average, but my daughter really loves their fish-flavored eggplant, so we still often come here to get takeout.

The beef was tender and coated in an addictive sauce, while the onions complemented it perfectly. The green beans were also good, although the XO sauce was spicier than what I'm used to. They were supposed to be cooked with minced pork, but there was barely any in the dish. The beef chow fun was just okay--I've had better elsewhere, so I'll probably skip it next time. I'd come back for the black pepper beef and to try a few other dishes on the menu.

Seated quickly and was given menus. We had to flag someone down and the lady decided to comment that we ordered too much carbs... I'm like okay... We ordered a fried sticky rice, e-noodles, and a seafood clay pot. Thank god for the complimentary salted peanuts or we would be starving. We waited over 25 minutes for our food. Large quantity which was the only saving grace from this long wait. Food was decently good. We were given tong Sui at the end. I don't think I will return. Waiting 25 minutes for our food was too long.
