Fried mackerel with side dishes in top photo. Cold noodles in beef broth with side of steamed beef and leeks dumplings.

If you ever want just fast but yummy food court Korean dishes - this is the place!! Crowded (it's Sunday), but clean - I ordered a combo noodle and Korean dumplings set for $16!!! Hubbs ordered a ginormous mackerel from Jin for $16!! What an economically delicious lunch, especially in this day and age!!! Service was swift and friendly and the side dishes were flavorful and plenty! Who needs fancy restaurants when Noodle Plus and Jin delivers 5+ star quality food!! Also - we decided to tip the two gentlemen who work tirelessly to clean up after the patrons quickly!!

There's outdoor dining now on the upper parking lot now! I haven't visited in a while. Back at home in San Francisco, I always crave a hearty bowl of kalguksu (hand-cut noodles), and this is my go-to spot when I'm in Ktown for the past several years. Finally got to sit down for my first review. I love to support family-run businesses, and the mother, father, and daughter always provide the best service. I was stoked when I found out they were open for outdoor dining. They bring the food in takeout containers so that you can bring your leftovers home. Highly recommended dishes: -mandu (handmade dumplings) -cold noodles with salmon sashimi (super fresh cuts!) -of course, kalguksu (clam, oyster, seafood combination) The kalguksu broth is very light and flavorful. The portions are very hearty and the banchan (side dishes) are great too! Thanks, Noodle Plus!

Great service!! The people that are working there are really fast and super friendly! I order their Salmon Mixed Noodle for the first time ever and it tastes amazing and very fulfilling! I also order their Fishcake Soup that tastes really good, amazing, and fulfilling as well. I definitely will come back again for ordering more of their tasty food items from the menu to choose from because of their beautiful food presentation. Thank you all so much!!

Humongous portion - best to be shared! I made the mistake of ordering their snail mixed noodle for myself. Way too much of the same thing in one meal. I got tired of the texture and flavor 1/3 mark in. Mountain worth of soba noodles + julienned mixed veggies, but a sprinkle of snail pieces - yes a lot of veggies and noodles but not sure it was worth $15? The flavor wasn't exactly unique. I was given container of generic red pepper paste to add on my own. In addition, it took them forever to have my order ready despite being the only customer. My husband was half way through his giant Tonkatsu platter from the adjacent counter before i saw any signs of my order being assembled. Overall - snail mixed noodles? Glad I gave it a try since I have never seen it served elsewhere in ktown but don't think I would get it again.

I had their cold soba noodles. It had 3 mounds of noodles, grated daikon, green onions, yellow pickled radish, and the broth. It was super filling and ~$14!

Where is the kimchi in this supposed "kimchi dumpling"?

DO NOT EAT HERE. We ordered 떡만두국 and the dumpling fillings were rotten. We told the ladies working there and they said it's kimchi mandu and that's the way it's supposed to taste. Do y'all see any kimchi in this filling?? Cuz we don't, and it smelled rotten. When we first got the order, they had added no salt and instead of apologizing they reprimanded the cook in front of us and shoved some salt into our hands.

Pros: -Big portions -Korean banchan (side dishes) included, of course. Kimchi is solid, here -I don't really like Kalguksu (knife noodle) that much, but the Kalguksu here is yummy. I got the Kimchi Kalguksu Cons: -Sashimi Noodle Salad doesn't taste that great. The sauce is not balanced. I think it is a bit too acidic and not spicy enough. Needs more gochujang (red pepper paste) and chan geerum (sesame seed oil).

Clam noodle soup. It's cleanly delicious. Even side dish are very good too. I will be visit this place again

Just ate a very satisfying round of banchan, korean fried chicken, chol myun and cold noodles. Someone left a one star review griping about fruit on soba noodles but they clearly shouldn't be reviewing if they can't identify the noodle type properly. Overall, great fast casual Korean place. I will be returning.

Sorry, I dug in before thinking to take a photo. Not the most flattering picture, but this Sprouts Mixed Rice bowl is so yum!

This is my favorite spot at the Koreatown Galleria food court. That's saying a lot considering this food court touts many strong options like the popular pork cutlet place in just the next stall over. The vaguely named Noodle Plus is my favorite for good comfort food in the most purely Korean way. The best way I know how to describe their food is that their food tastes clean. So to explain... Korean food is often regarded as generally healthy. It's true that compared to common American food court fare, yes it's healthier but among Koreans, some things like bulgogi and even some type of soups are considered splurge meals due to its high fat or sodium and spice content and it's never considered a healthy diet to be eating these things every day. Noodle Plus is food that you could find at home but far more spruced up. Like if you had a beautiful apron-clad health-conscious Korean lady for a mom with some serious home-cooking chops, just chop-chopping away in her pristine kitchen making meals for you.. this is the food she might be churning out. My favorite menu item so far is their Sprouts Mixed Rice. So like their restaurant name, it doesn't sound very exciting but trust me, this is a showstopper dish because it is a mixed rice bowl that comes still sizzling in a stone pot with a nice oozy egg yolk that gets cooked when you mix the rice up turning it into this creamy texture that is perfect. The rice is topped with bean sprouts along with other nice veggies but it also contains a good amount of seasoned ground beef. While mixing, I also spied some chickpeas in there like mom was trying to sneak a little something extra healthy but I didn't even mind because it really worked. And don't forget to douse the bowl with the small tub of their special soy sauce to taste before you mix everything up, and do the mixing fairly soon. You want the rice at the bottom to crisp up a bit so that when you mix everything you get this unbelievable texture with the occasional crunch, but of course, you don't want anything to burn. So let it sizzle a bit, then pour in that soy sauce mixture and mix away before enjoying. It's just the perfect thing to have when you feel like treating your body well but you want it to taste amazing too. Each of their dishes come with around 3 side dishes that change up every so often, and a little bowl of soup. Because I love the sprouts mixed rice so much, I didn't try anything else yet but wow I saw some things other people we're ordering and they looked amazing, like a noodle dish with yulmu kimchi (radish stem kimchi) which is a perfect summer dish or just something to have when you want something light. I love that sort of food, fresh vibrant and clean flavors. I actually think this may have been a temporary special because I didn't see it on the menu before and instead was on a poster separate from the main menu. I know restaurants sometimes have a nice seasonal ingredient that they want to integrate into the menu but only just until that ingredient is at its best. I'm guessing that's what happened here. I highly, highly recommend trying this place out. The restaurant name and the look of the stall is very unassuming but their food speaks for itself. It's so unassuming that I always forget which stall I got my favorite sprouts mixed rice from and I end up chatting with all the ladies in each stall to find it again. This review is kind of a way to remind myself which stall it was, like leaving a breadcrumb trail. I figured my fellow Yelpers could benefit as well :)

Spicy seafood soup and salmon sashimi cold noodle were really good!! I do recommend them!!

This is my favorite food in LA and I love the salmon sashimi cold noodle, spicy seafoods soup, steam korean dumpling and fried vegetables. I do also recommend the seafood noodle soups, called kalguksoo, that's really good. Thank you!!

There is sometimes street parking but the availability is rough, it's tough to park, and even one of the meters we ended up at just didn't work. They only charge a $5 cash service charge though, which isn't bad. We were lucky to be seated right away, even in a packed restaurant. The restaurant has a surprisingly modern design, and is comfortable for as small as it is. We were quickly served their signature kimchis and barley rice. The kimchi, particularly the yeolmu (young summer radish) kimchi, has a unique flavor profile well suited to their food. We ordered 2 bowls of their plain kalgooksu, 1 bibim milmyun, and 1 tteokbokki. The food came out fairly quickly. The kalgooksu was as expected the star of the show. The anchovy broth brings a savory complexity that seems impossible for a soup made from just dried fish and a few other ingredients. It even has a rich, almost thick, quality to it that is surprising for a fish broth. Their noodles, the titular kalgooksu, have the signature irregularity and chew of knife cut noodles. I appreciate the vegetables that always come in kalgooksu, like potato, pumpkin, and zucchini, which offer an earthy heartiness to the light soup. My only complaint is that the potato is in huge irregular chunks, and is barely cooked, though I feel like I have had this issue with many of the kalgooksu bowls I've had over the years. The bibim milmyun was solid. I think that I prefer the texture and flavor of naengmyeon buckwheat noodles, but the milmyun, which are made with mostly wheat flour, still provide a satisfying chew. The sauce tasted bright and fresh, especially with a splash of added vinegar. It also came with a small side portion of spicy pork and some rice paper to wrap. The tteokbokki was the one let down of the meal. To be fair, I wasn't expecting much out of tteokbokki at all restaurant like this whose specialty is essentially the opposite. I ordered the tteokbokki as a "safe pick" for a picky eater in the group. It turned out to be a bit mediocre in our opinion, and that friend ended up enjoying their kalgooksu anyways. If you're looking to try this dish, it's definitely one of if not the best I've had in Southern California, so I'd totally recommend it. I'll also warn to steer clear of the Garden Grove restaurant of the same name and specialty. I think it's a disappointing mimicry of this place.

There was not anyone at the restaurant at the time, but people did start trickling in as more time elapsed. We got our food relatively quickly as well. FOOD: I ordered the spicy pork tsukemen ($23.45), which is their dipping noodle. The noodles are thicker than standard ramen, but in a good way! It comes with thick chashu (thick, fatty pork) slices and soft boiled eggs. If you haven't had tsukemen before, you essentially dip your noodles into the broth and then eat it that way. The broth is extremely flavorful and there are also pieces of chashu in it as well. The only critique that I have regarding this is the broth was lukewarm which made the dish taste slightly off. I've tried this dish at another branch and the broth was also lukewarm there, so I'm not sure if this is a location issue or a standard amongst all branches. Also, this dish does not really have any vegetables in this, but I also don't know if traditional tsukemen has veggies included. SERVICE: Service was quick and everyone was nice and doing their job. Didn't seem like the staff was slacking or messing around while there weren't many customers. They were very attentive to us, refilling our water immediately once they saw it was getting low, and being very attentive towards if we had any other concerns or if we needed anything else. PARKING: There technically is street parking but since it's in Little Tokyo, it's going to be very difficult to find it. There's $4-6 valet parking available nearby the location. There are a lot of people walking around though so just be safe. INTERIOR: It's not too big of a place but it's also not too small as well. It looks very well kept and clean. BATHROOM: Two gender neutral bathroom stalls that are both very clean and accessible. No issues here with them. TLDR: Overall, I thought the place was pretty good to eat at! I would definitely come back for the tsukemen (as long as the broth is warmed up until it's hot). A very good dish combined with great music (they have some great Japanese music variety) is definitely a spot worth coming to with friends !! :))

It's been sitting on my saved list for a while, and honestly, this turned out to be the perfect opportunity. The space itself is bright, clean, and welcoming with warm woody tones throughout. Casual setup where you order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. I had already looked through the menu beforehand, so the real challenge was narrowing down what to order for one person. I failed at that... and I'm very happy I did. Started with the Pig Ear Salad 滷豬耳朵. Braised thin sliced pig ears dressed with soy sauce, chili oil, sesame oil, scallion, and cilantro. OMG. So good. Tender, flavorful, perfectly braised, with that satisfying chewy texture done right. Also got the Fried Peanut Salad 五味花生 with garlic, cilantro, scallions, vinegar, and Thai chili. Super crunchy, bright, refreshing, and honestly addicting. I added a cup of the Hot & Sour Soup 酸辣湯 too. Organic tofu, beech mushroom, carrot, bamboo, woodear mushroom, and egg. Super comforting with a really balanced tang and peppery heat. Not overly thick or heavy like a lot of Americanized versions can be. Exactly the kind of soup you want during a long travel day. For noodles, I ordered the Dan Dan Noodles 擔擔麵. Sesame-peanut sauce, cucumber, cilantro, crushed peanuts. Delicious on its own already, but I ended up adding some of the fried peanuts from the salad into the noodles and it became even better. Then the Three Cup Chicken 三杯雞 with sesame oil, soy sauce, rice wine, and Thai basil. I do wish it had a little more wok hei, but overall the flavor was still really comforting and savory. Extremely good with rice. Had a glass of Gewürztraminer alongside everything, which paired surprisingly well with the spice and aromatics. Their wine list leans more organic / natural wine focused, which felt very LA in a good way. Ended up sitting at a high top next to one of the managers and had a great conversation throughout the meal. She ended up hooking me up with the Traditional Shaved Ice 傳統刨冰 with grass jelly, red bean, boba, sweet potato balls, taro balls, brown sugar syrup, and condensed milk. I was already planning to order it anyway, and wow... I finished the entire thing. The brown sugar syrup was incredibly fragrant. Packed the leftovers to-go, and that ended up becoming my dinner after landing in San Francisco later that evening. Flight cancellation somehow turned into a really great food day.
