Very consistently solid spot for Korean dumplings! I got their shrimp dumplings, which come with pickled radish, soy sauce, and hot sauce. The dumplings are always reliable and delicious. I ordered naengmyun from Yuchun and got these to pair with it, and it was the perfect combo: icy-cold noodles and spicy, warm dumplings on a hot day! I love their other menu options as well. Highly recommend!
Dumplings inside a food court. The portions were decent and were fulfilling. The Shrimp Dumplings were delicious and the sauce gives it a kick. It's a food court seatings so during lunch time it can get packed in a busy area.
Casual mall food court spot, cooked to order, enjoyed with my 3 kiddos so unfortunately didn't try the spicy shrimp dumplings but really enjoyed the cilantro dumplings (skin is so thin, chewy, sauce was amazing and kids friendly), fried dumpling was huge and yummy too - would definitely return to support this small business

Pao Jao Dumpling House is located in the International Food Court of Koreatown Plaza in K-Town. I tried the shrimp dumplings (8 pieces for $15.99)--they're large and uniquely shaped, not like typical dumplings, but the flavors were spot on. They had a nice kick to them and were stuffed with shrimp, chives, ground meat, and glass noodles. It also came with thinly sliced pickled radish and hot sauce, both of which complemented the dumplings well. They accept both cash and card. The staff prefers not to be photographed, so I'll just stick to reviewing the food. There's plenty of seating in front of the stall, making it convenient for dining in. Overall, a great spot for dumplings in K-Town!
Pretty tasty dumplings. Enjoyed both the chive dumplings (loved that they had noodles in them in addition to pork and chives) and the kimchi dumplings. Wrappers were on the thick and sticky side.
My cousin and I went here last weekend and ordered the highly recommended shrimp dumplings and honestly they were underwhelming at best. Not sure if it's supposed to taste bland but I feel like maybe we got a bad batch? Felt like someone forgot to add a pinch of salt and I know they give you a sauce to dip into it but even after we dipped it into the sauce it still was tasteless. I'm willing to give it another shot but not anytime soon

Flavor was good, sauce was also nice and spicy. Would definitely come back to try the other dumplings.
At the Koreatown Plaza, I walked through every booth because I was looking for a light snack and I thought that kimchi Mandu (dumplings) 김치만두 would be perfect. It turned out to be a much larger quantity than I thought, and I ate them all anyway! They came with sliced radishes and a delicious dipping sauce! I could totally have popped them into my mouth in one bite, but I really wanted to sit and enjoy the food court for a while and just people watch. I love that Koreatown Plaza at noon on a Tuesday almost felt like a community center with lots of friends and families gathering for lunch and conversation. Not just a quick meal on the go while in the middle of a busy shopping trip. I saw several things I want to try on their menu when I return. They have quick service and the food is served perfectly temperature!
Usually when I encounter a small menu, I anticipate high quality; however, my experience here was somewhat mixed. The shrimp dumplings were quite tasty, warm and flavorful. The King Roll however was disappointing. There was no information about what was inside the buns; when I asked, I was simply told "pork belly," which I always love, so we ordered. However, it didn't look or taste like there was any pork belly inside-- it was a rather dry mixture of japchae and greens that lacked dimension. While the size of the buns was impressive, I was disappointed with their flavor. Since there was a little bit of a language barrier, it might be helpful for them to list the ingredients somewhere.
Been obsessed with this specific type of dumpling lately. If you happen to be at ktown plaza for a meal definitely get these grilled fried dumplings to share. :)

Quick friendly service. Food court mall vibe is fun. Tried the chive dumplings. Pretty tasty. I wish you could do 5 chive and 5 kimchi. They are pretty big so 10 is a lot, so took half home. Definitely order an extra dipping sauce. Pickled radish was super delish. I think I would try out the kimchi dumplings next time. Loved popping into K Mart after picking up a bunch of different banchans. Free parking if you get validated. read more

Of course I saw this on IG, for the food court, but they highlighted this place with the shrimp dumpling. Comes with a sweet soy saucy dip, chili sambal and sliced pickled radish! Three of us fought over the dumplings! These things were packed with shrimp and glass noodles! read more
It's been a while since I've had Pao Jao but it DOES NOT MISS! I'm not going to lie I haven't had it in years but I was in the plaza picking up a drink when I saw their bright sign just calling my name. And to be honest, I've been craving for some dumplings for some time. I got the shrimp dumpling and oh my god, it comes out piping hot and fresh, it's meaty and so flavorful. It comes with 8pcs, the smallest out of their other dumplings which comes with 10pcz, but it really fills you up. It's located in the food court, you order, you pay, they give you a buzzer, the buzzer buzzes, you pick up your food and you enjoy! read more

Pretty yummy!!! The service was nice and the ambiance at the plaza food court is always pretty fun. I want to win one of the stupid looking ditto Pokémon guys from the machines there. It also is kinda 80s??? Ish I don't know but it's fun. I think the dumplings were a bit expensive (not blaming in this economy totally get it) I just probably wouldn't go there again because I am unfortunately not named rich richardson the third read more

Wowwww! Chive steamed mandoo 10 pieces at $16 a pop. At first I thought, price is steep. Then I remembered we are living during the Biden administration and it's not fair to blame a small business for the inflation. The chive mandoo was flavorful and the skin (wrapper) was chewy and glutinous. After eating the first mandoo, I thought "okayyyy I see you." After eating some more, I thought "Pao Jao are pros at making mandoo!!!" It does take a while to get your order but that's because they're made to order. I ain't mad at that at all. It seems to be a family affair. Daughter took the order, while parents and staff prepared the food. Everyone was friendly and courteous. I'll be back to try the kimchi mandoo as well! read more
This place is located inside the Korean mall in the bottom level. The workers are very friendly. The area has plenty of seating as well. It didn't take too long to get our order. They give you buzzer after you order to notify you when your order is ready. The shrimp dumplings were so delicious, especially with the sauce. It definitely makes a good snack. I definitely want to try all the other food items next time I come. read more

Pao Jao Dumpling House is located at the Koreantown Plaza in the International Food Court. Parking is 3 hrs free in the plaza on weekends and free with validation on weekdays! We got basically all the dumplings to try: - Kimchi dumplings: delicious! : 5/5. -Chives dumplings: loved it! Full of glass noodles, garlic chives, and "hint of pork". : 5/5. - King Dumplings: Not bad. Like bao buns, but with Korean style filling (pork, glass noodles, garlic chives); veggie heavy with "hint of pork"; and thick breading: 4/5. - Shrimp Kimchi Dumplings: Best Seller. I didn't love it. Thought it was fishy and gummy texture. Disappointed. However, most people seemed to love it. Must be me! - Fried Chives Dumplings: Yummy! Veggie heavy of chives, glass noodles, and "hint of pork"... see the pattern here? The dumplings aren't heavy on meat (pork in this case). I would get this again! : 5/5. - Sweet Red Bean Bun/Bread: Just ok. I usually love sweet red beans but thought this to be too sweet. : 3/5. Overall I thought Pao Jao was good and I'd come back, but there are better Korean dumpling spots that are my personal favorites. The dumplings sauce and radish are a must, so don't leave or order without it. -Payment: Cash/ Credit. -Parking: Free/ within the Koreantown plaza structure. read more
Good but overpriced imo, and the lady charges for take out containers if you are eating there and have leftovers lol. The shrimp dumplings currently cost $15.99 for 8 which is alot, but also inflation so I kinda understand lol. They were pretty meaty & big but I've had frozen dumplings just as good. We also tried the chive dumplings which had good flavor but the dough was thick. I probably won't be back! read more
Whenever I crave dumplings, I always find myself to this spot! I haven't gone in a while but... I was a bit shocked to see the price increase. Ordered the shrimp dumplings and the pan fried dumplings. Don't get me wrong, they were both really good but it made me rethink about whether I want to go back there for dumplings again. read more

With a bunch of options in Koreatown, it is not hard to find some good eats. This spot does dumplings, and their most popular item is the spicy shrimp dumplings. These are fairly spicy, and that is no joke. The filling was more veggie than shrimp, and the flavor was subtle. I was more impressed with the pancakes as the green onion flavor came through nicely. read more

I ordered plate ja jang myun, and I was so disappointed. It cost $30 and it is absolutely trash. No ja jjang flavor at all, and it was literally just stir fried noodle. It used to be so much better, but now it is just sad. read more

This dumpling shop is in the food court on the first floor of Koreatown Plaza. It's a good place for a satisfying (but pricey) snack. The grilled fried dumplings are big and served piping hot. Reminiscent of Chinese chive dumplings, but with glass noodles inside. The shrimp dumplings had a gummy texture that I wasn't a huge fan of. Loaded with noodles and filling, but for $15, I wanted more shrimp. I'd get the grilled fried dumplings again, but would skip the shrimp ones and grab a main dish from one of the other shops in the food court instead. read more
Wandered upon this place at the International Food Court of Koreatown Plaza, bustling on a Sunday afternoon. After seeing the interesting cylindrical shape of the Spicy Shrimp Dumplings, along with the news articles posted on the store front praising the shop and dumplings, I knew I needed to try them. The Spicy Shrimp Dumplings had a good spicy flavor to them filled with vegetables and large pieces of shrimp, all wrapped in a thin but strong wrapper and served with a dark, vinegar dumpling sauce. I liked the flavor of the dumpling but I did wish there was a more prominent "shrimp" flavor to them because the shrimp alone did not give me this. I will also say that these dumplings were on the pricey side coming out to be about $16 for the 1 order. Despite this, I do respect the homemade feel to this shop and their dumplings and would definitely try more of their items when I'm back in the area. read more
I use to live in Koreatown and would visit the Koreatown Shopping Center for the grocery store. I totally missed out on the food court! Pao Jao stood out with their white decor and signage and I'm glad I tried it. The fried dumplings are DELICIOUS and I'm definitely coming back for more. The shrimp dumplings were also great, a tad spicy, but the flavour is on point. I need to go back to try the other dumplings and baos. Parking is convenient and the food court is on the ground floor. read more

The spicy shrimp dumplings were delicious, flavorful with the right amount of spiciness. I would definitely order those again. The black bean noodles were watery and bland. After 3 or 4 bites, I couldn't eat it. Definitely would not order again, overpriced and a waste of money. It's in a food court, so no photo ops. However, it is a clean and quiet place to sit and eat a meal. The food came out pretty quickly. The woman at the counter was polite. read more

Are the black bean noodles made from scratch?
Yes! Black bean noodles cook with in house sauce we prepare every day along with noodles from fresh flour dough we also make every time upon each order.
Do the shrimp dumplings come with other meat in it or just shrimp?
Shrimp dumplings come with ground pork to add more flavor. However, mainly come with chopped black tiger shrimp. Thank you!
