My, my, my. Noodle Wave is going places. I was over the freakin the moon about the new location! I cannot gush enough about the wonderful employees at the McKinney location. They were always friendly, always remembered their loyal customers, and always got our order correctly... then we moved :( Enter the Frisco location! The interior is beautifully and tastefully decorated as it is in all 3 locations. It's whimsical and fun to look at. There was a wait when we got here because of the grand opening, but there is great patio space and beautiful weather on the horizon, so I'm sure the waits will be frequent but totally worth it. The menu is fantastic.. they actually lowered the prices! The portions are smaller, but I couldn't tell until my sister pointed it out. We poked around the menu for a few weeks, but now, we get the sukiyaki beef every time. The beef is tender and full of flavor. The mix of vegetables is a lovely variety of onions, carrots, cabbage, sprouts, & bok choy. All of that is stir fried in glass noodles. What's not to like?! Okay, we don't venture around too much when it comes to thai food, but I LOVE spicy; the hotter the better, and man, they DO spicy! Each location varies I think, because their level 3 (1-4) isn't as spicy here. The flavor is outstanding though. It's not a bland, dry heat. I highly encourage a more in-depth exploration of the menu, though if you're up to it! So who runs the show? Peter, the owner, visited with most tables during opening night while he helped run food, refill waters, and bus tables! He was doing it all, AND he had a smile on his face. This is the best Thai I've tasted in Frisco. Having visited the McKinney location, I kind of knew what to expect and I got that and more! Great customer service ( very patient server) and a menu so vast I can never make up my mind.... The food is fresh, artfully plated, and the space is beautiful. The recommended lunch special today was herb chicken--a generous helping of the tastiest, tender fried pieces of chicken I've ever had. Beside it was a wide noodle dish whose name I can't even begin to remember. It was savory and very flavorful. My husband had the Sriracha Beef Bowl which was bold, spicy, and very filling. We wanted the Green Tea, but were told they were out. If I could, I'd eat here for lunch 2-3x a week just to try everything on the menu! Not a disappointing moment here! read more

Kudos to Noodle Wave during COVID-19 pandemic! They have made takeout safe for workers and customers alike and still provide the same amazing Thai food you crave! They installed plexy glass barriers to limit contact and they bring food out to your car using numbered parking slots. Also, I observed all the staff, cooking staff, wearing masks! Can't say I've seen that at many takeout places! Great job Noodle Wave!! I ised their online ordering for our pickup order and it couldn't have been easier. Of course I had to get the Roti (5 of them actually) and curry puffs but I changed up my curry type to the Panang chicken and added bamboo shoots. Their ordering process allows for plenty of customizing and comments including adjusting spice level. My food was phenomenal and the curry puffs are so amazing that my 1yo son ate them all and I got none so next time -two orders!!! He's lucky he's cute! My husband enjoyed his Thai Basil Chicken level 3 spicy and loved his as well. The portions were so big we enjoyed Thai food for two days! They have so many awesome choices on their menu and even if you don't love Thai food there are some other Asian food options that you'll be familiar with like orange chicken. She provided the prik nam plah as I requested. At home the food was very good. A week or so later we went back to dine in. Very disappointing. The service was lackluster. The Tom Yum soup was flavorless. The rice was badly overcooked. I don't know what happened in just a few days. But we won't be back. read more

I ordered spice level 2, and it was still on the spicier side. My friend ordered a 4 and it was fiery hot even for his palette. But it tasted good (not the best but good). Had leftovers and I gladly ate em later. The noodles were stuck together in chunks though but it was probably a one time thing. The spring rolls were bite size. 5 rolls cut into two for a perfect bite. Thai tea was a little sweeter for my liking but I generally prefer my drinks lightly sweetened. Was really wanting to try a new Thai place and this place HIT THE SPOT. Servings are so big and for that it's super reasonably priced. I got the crab cream cheese rangoons to start and they were stuffed with filling! Super yummy! From the yelp photos, I really wanted to order the crispy basil chicken, but the server recommended the herbal chicken sriracha fried rice and it was AMAZING. The Noodle Wave in Frisco is pretty good! I like the atmosphere. They have done a great job of making the place look very nice and open. Modern style with lots of color that makes it a very comfortable environment. The service was nothing to complain about, we went during lunch and they responded rapidly to anything that we needed. The water was never empty so I appreciate that. The food was not as good as the other location. My personal issue was with the rice and the curry flavor. The rice wasn't the right texture and felt like it had been sitting out for a while. The curry tasted unlike the green curry at the other location. Other than that, I enjoyed my experience! The prices are reasonable. They currently have a lunch special for 10.50 that includes a small appetizer and a egg roll/spring roll and then the main dish. read more

The meal was fantastic from start to finish. Immediately when you walk in, you're greeted by a calm atmosphere and friendly waiters who take you to your seat. The wait wasn't long, and appetizers came quickly. For appetizers, we had shrimp spring rolls, which tasted like heaven. They were light and tasted like Spring (the hint of basil, probably), and perfected by the peanut sauce that brought in just the right amount of flavor. For the main course, I went for mild yellow curry with beef, and it came in an appetizing looking white ceramic bowl with a perfect bowl of jasmine rice. The curry is fantastic with the rice, sweet but not too much so, with just a hint of spicy. It doesn't taste too heavy, and the portions are definitely big enough to have takeaway as well. The carrots were a little too big, but there was definitely more beef than expected and I was very satisfied with the arrangement. We ordered mango with sticky rice up front, and there was a little wait time involved, but it was still reasonable. But when it came, it was definitely worth the wait. The rice was warm and sweet, not too sticky. The mangoes were a little warm from the rice, but still sweet. Overall, the service was fantastic, with the waiter coming every course to ask how we were doing despite a busy restaurant by then. We came in for an early dinner on a Friday eve and this place was packed! I did not expect that! The restaurant was clean, neatly decorated, and the waitstaff was super attentive. We never had to wait for water refills or ask for anything! For starters we chose the Crab Cream Cheese Rangoon & Crispy Vegetarian Spring Rolls. The spring rolls were tasty but the cheese rangoons were cold :( The Tom Kha soup was huge and flavorful- really too much to finish. The Tom Yum was not good. Sweet, greasy, not spicy at all. FULL of huge chunks of galangal root that was like gnawing on big pieces of wood. Inedible. We also got the veggie spring rolls. Not sure if I'm always ordering the wrong plates, I've came here twice and first time I got the crispy pan fried noodles, not impressed, ate enough to not be hungry and left the rest, second time (last week) I tried the Yum woonsen shrimp. First of all our food took over 20-25 minutes to come out, I mean c'mon now I ordered a salad! When they finally presented it, It was just a few big pieces of lettuce, sliced cucumbers, a few shrimp and some chicken chunks, very simple and not sure why it took almost half an hour, as far as the taste goes I felt like it was drenched in vinegar and hot sauce, for spice level I ordered a and I couldn't get the food down without a few gulps of water to follow, I've been to the Noodle Wave in Richardson and remember liking it, that's why I gave this place another chance after the first disappointment before reviewing. I know this is a family restaurant but both times i've come there's been kids running around, last time crying/screaming while the mother just kept eating, not sure what's up with this place but overall experience is not pleasant at all. The Roti Curry is everything! It's a huge portion, so plan on taking at least half of it to go, or share with someone. The roti is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the veggies in the curry are cooked perfectly. The staff is amazing, so incredibly nice and attentive. The wait for food was a little long, but it's worth it! They got very busy, and for a good reason. We were there around 7pm on a Saturday night, and the tables were always full. It's tucked away in the back of a shopping center, but fully visible from 121/the feeder road going west. We will definitely be back the next time we're in Frisco! read more

So this past Thursday I decided to stop by @thai_noodlewave before I went to see @girlstripmovie because earlier in the week I was watching Bizarre Foods on Travel Channel and Andrew Zimmern was eating a whole fish that looked divine. I'm so glad I chose this restaurant because this has to be one of the best things I've ever eaten... the sauce of course was the thing that took the fish over the top! When ordering you get to choose your level of spice for the sauce and I chose level two and even though it was not as spicy as the three or four my nose and eyes were running so bad but I promise it was so worth it and the service excellent as well. Ordered two chicken pad Thai meals online for pick up and when I arrived at the restaurant they had it ready to go in a timely manner. When I read the ticket, it was all correct, I left thinking it was fine. When I got home I noticed they didn't take out any of the requested ingredients and had hardly any chicken in either meals. I can't explain how delightful my experience was. We were very kindly seated and the waiter was absolutely friendly. I can't explain how amazing service was. We started off with dumplings which came with sauce. It was so good, the sweet sauce really complimented the dumplings very well. I ordered strawberry tea with boba and it was not over sweetened, it was perfectly balanced. We then ordered our entrees and I can very much tell you we were not disappointed one bit. The food portion was perfect, and it tasted out of this world. Definitely recommend this place, and I'm coming back soon!!! read more
