I return here for the quality of food: not the BPM thumping techno or the rank-odorous loo. I asked if the volume could be lowered and was told it was "preset". (Yeah right.). Then the loo ... Soilove is a product that cuts through calcified buildup (see pic). Now that ventilation plate is something altogether different. A vacuum will do. The graffiti? Well - just place "video surveillance" signs will deter the graffiti bandits. Also - a sealer membrane over the mirror would discourage the varmints.

I frequent this location for lunch when I'm at work. They've always been very welcoming and friendly. My food always comes out fresh and tasting great. I actually prefer this smaller location over the Noodle world in Alhambra!

I have been and ordered from here for years, and will continue to do so, but my experience is always almost great and then... meh. I wouldn't bother with any of their ramen, nor their chicken karaage - both belong in the garbagè. Mind you, this is fast food, yet their pho and Singapore noodles are actually quite delicious for a quick fix. Any of the rice dishes are satisfying - roll the dice and order them twice and enjoy the fair price! Enough rhyming, give them a go. I love their Thai and matcha smoothies! Their satay salad comes with a beautiful peanut sauce, the seaweed salad can be a bit slimy at times, but oh so flavorful. The fried tofu could use a little more frying, but the sauce that comes with it is wonderfully sweet and savory. Orders are quickly made and the staff are always friendly.

There aren't many choices to choose from when it comes to Asian Noodles (Japanese ramen excluded). However Noodle World Jr. definitely hits the sweet spot when it comes to these dishes. The restaurant is spacious, clean and customer service was great! The food: BBQ Wonton Noodles (8/10): This is a classic Singapore's dish. If you would like to have a light tasting but delicious soup noodle, this is the one for you. I thought the soup wasn't thick in flavor, the BBQ pork was tasty and the texture was also not hard to chew. I also loved how they added some vegetables into this dish. The wontons (steamed dumplings) were also tasty. The only complaint that I had was that their noodles tasted a little soggy. Singapore Noodles (9/10): This dish is also known as Fried Bee Hoon. This dish tasted delicious. The portion was huge and they were also generous with the pork slices. This dish can easily become salty, seasonings have to be just right and they cooked it really well. Tom Yum Ramen (10/10): Not technically ramen, but it's named that way! However, names aren't important, this was probably my most favorite dish among all the dishes I have tried. This dish tastes mildly salty and sour (how tom yum should be). The noodle's textures were much better than the one in BBQ Wonton Noodles. Portion was generous and the soup was savory. Mango Sticky Rice (10/10): This was a SEASONAL dish. Therefore, I am not sure if they would still have it if you were to visit the restaurant. Anyhow, we went to Noodle World Jr. for more than five times in a month and we always had to get their mango sticky rice. Portion was good, their sticky rice was sweet and chewy. Also, mangoes were sweet and juicy! Totally recommended! If you are near LAX and love Asian noodles, then you definitely have to try the noodles served in this restaurant!

This is my new go to spot for a quick bite after LAX. There's ample free parking in back. The food is quick and the people at the counter are friendly. Its affordable so you can treat whomever picked you up at the airport to dinner without further depleting your travel funds. And the food is good. I got their special which was a Tom Kha Soup with beef instead. The beef was super tender. The broth was spicy. Like very spicy and i cant usually handle spice. They have lots of seating. Its nothing fancy but spacious. I like that they provide take out containers on the counter so you can take your leftovers home without even asking for a box.

If you want great noodles, reasonable price and a quick meal, this is the spot near LAX! Everything here is good! My favorites are: Singapore Noodles, Drunken Noodles and Pad Thai!

Noodle World Jr has become a staple stop on the way to LAX or a welcome back to LA visit. The garlic noodles are very flavorful and portions are a good size. You can got wrong with any of the noodles selections, pho or ramen , etc. great service and welcoming staff.

Ehhh...it's good but it has potential. First time trying Noodle World Jr was executed by Grubhub and it really disappointed me. I had ordered the yakisoba with shrimp and chicken and they forgot to add the shrimp. The amount of chicken in there was barely non existent. The flavor was very mild and I had to tweak it with garlic salt, soy sauce, sriracha, and some fresh chilies, not to forget adding my own shrimp and more chicken to the dish. Recently I went back but this time I went into the restaurant. I decided to give them another chance and ordered the Drunken noodles. It wasn't bad. The Jalapeños had a kick to them and they didn't forget my protein of choice this time. I think they could've added a little more sauce or salt because it tasted like there wasn't any sodium in it and it was dry. Since it was a take-out order, it was ready for me within 10 minutes. The staff was polite and friendly. I would definitely go back and try their soups and see how I can "jaz" it up.

I ordered the chicken Tomkah mild with veggie egg rolls and it was so yummy. It had a lot of flavor and it was served with mushrooms.

The udon broth is so flavorful. This is my favorite spot to order udon to go. I substituted the pork for additional fish cake. My only issue is They still charge even for substitution.

It was a but busy when we got there but luckily we got seared pretty shortly after arrival. We originally wanted to sit at the bar, but opted for a table for less wait time. When first looking at the menu we were shocked by the prices. I knew immediately i wanted to get the hui tou potstikers with pork and noodles. We ended up adding on the hongkong style wontons too. To my suprise the wontons arrived in a delicious and warm broth, keeping them perfectly moist and plump. The broth was so delicious even on a hot day, tasting faintly of sesame and scallion. Despite both dishes being pork they were so different and equally amazing in flavor. The pan fried potstikers which were CRISPED TO PERFECTION especially reminded me of black bean shortribs that you get from dimsum, fatty but hearty and had me wanting more and more each bite. The minced pork noodles were to no suprise, so good. Noodles tasted fresh, the sauce was umami with mushrooms and pork. While im not the biggest fan of mushrooms, i still ate it up. I feel it would be so good with some picked cabbage too to complement the saltiness. Most notable thing... THAT CHILI OIL. We probably used almost half the jar left at the table. It wasnt spicy at all, but it had this flavor that i genuinely have never tasted before. The texture of the chilli and sesame and the nutty flavor had me in awe. Enough to take two jars home... i would do it again. Servers were so quick, made sure everything we needed was at the table. Regardless of the crowd we were met with promptness and generosity. This that wonton place your girl tells you not to worry about forreal. Will be coming back despite the long drive from home.

That was my first mistake -- they don't even serve mu shu pork. That one's on me for not checking the menu first. I ended up getting my kung pao chicken and settled for the Mongolian beef, and veggie egg rolls. The Mongolian beef I could definitely pass on. The kung pao chicken was good at first, but somehow lost its flavor as the meal went on. The egg rolls were just okay. Nice and crispy on the outside, but too mushy on the inside for my liking. I was also pretty surprised (and a lot sad) that they didn't have hot mustard. The tea was really good though! Service was fine. The server was attentive, just clearly busy keeping up with all the takeout orders coming through. Ambience is definitely on the lower side here, so don't come expecting a nicer Chinese restaurant. It leans more Santa Ana burger joint vibes. That said, everything felt clean and they were pumping out a ton of takeout orders while we were there, so clearly they're doing something right. Overall, it just didn't hit for me, and I don't see myself coming back.

Then I went back to Firstborn twice within three months. This newly listed 2025 tasting menu spot actually made me feel a little hopeful about LA fine dining again. The shiso with razor clam and beef cheek cochon, and the black cod with green Sichuan pepper mala noodles, are both full-on collisions between deep animal savoriness and sharp, vivid spice. Then dishes like roasted artichoke and morel stuffed with green peas bring the seasonality into clear focus. The menu is not huge, but every dish has a defined structure and a bold sense of movement. On paper, it reads a little mysterious and intimidating; once you eat it, everything suddenly makes perfect sense, and honestly, it gets addictive. The ingredient selection and handling are also seriously thoughtful. Take the aged duck main course. I am very much a "if there is duck on the fine dining menu, I'm ordering it" person, and I've had plenty of beautifully rich, tender duck breasts. But Firstborn's version, beyond being tender and luscious, had that Cantonese sense of "gan xiang" -- the sweet, savory aroma you get from naturally air-dried, aged meats. For a second, I had this flashback to going with my family as a kid to Xing Fu Lou in Wenquan for Lutian cured meats during winter solstice. Absurdly good. Calling it the Duck King of the West Coast does not feel excessive. On my second visit, the truffle and wild mushroom "gnudi" was also excellent. The moment it hit the table, that intense truffle aroma made me think of the deep, earthy punch of French Périgord black truffle. But then I thought, wait, where are they getting Périgord in June? Turns out they were using Australian winter truffle, perfectly in season. That sourcing logic is smart. It is not expensive for the sake of being expensive; it actually understands the flavor window. The fire-grilled lamb saddle on the second visit was just as strong. It preserved the soft, tender texture of the cut without losing that sweet, milky lamb flavor. Grilled over open flame to a rosy medium rare, the flavor, doneness, and ingredient choice all landed. To me, a great restaurant comes down to three things: concept, ingredients, and seasoning. Some fine dining places love making everything complicated, stacking seven or eight ingredients together, serving a dozen-plus courses, and by the end you feel exhausted and sleepy. Firstborn is the opposite. It is unconventional, but from amuse-bouche to dessert, every dish explains its own logic clearly. Final feeling after the meal: addictive, interesting, and absolutely worth coming back for.

My friend's cocktail tastes very so so too. The restaurant is nice and clean. We were there to celebrate a birthday, but we didn't know the restaurant doesn't have any candles. They didn't offer to sing a birthday song or anything for us. I really don't think we will come back again. Not recommended.
