My husband and I visited this restaurant on Monday September 22. The food is delicious. My Steve had mac and cheese and I opted for spaghetti and meatballs. But the service leaves a lot to be desired. The waitress brought our food and slammed it down on the table and walked away without saying a word. But what disturbs Steve and me is the amount of food this restaurant throws away. There are hungry and homeless people many of whom are children. Some Richmond Virginia restaurants seem to take pride in not using microwaves. I don't understand this. There is a multi billion dollar frozen food business in this country based on microwaveable meals. Microwave ovens have been in existence for decades. Apartments in Richmond have kitchens that include you guessed it a microwave oven. So when my spaghetti and meatballs came out cold the staff told me that they would have to make the dish over which means they threw my original order in the garbage. Every time a customer gets cold food it is thrown away and wasted. From my Steve When I wanted to take my food home because I couldn't finish it, I told the woman behind the counter I wanted to take it home but she didn't hear me and tossed my food in the trash. When I explained I had wanted to take my leftovers home she had a new order made for me. As far as the menu is concerned, they don't print the prices on the printed paper menu. Only on the menu on the wall behind the counter. As for food wasting, it's a shame. As this food doesn't need to be wasted in most cases. There are too many people who need the food. When I brought my leftover spaghetti and meatballs to the counter for a take home box the waitress did speak to me in a pleasant manner. read more

I feel like the 3-star overall average for Noodles & Company is on point. It's one of those chains I hardly recall exists on most occasions. However, I've been sick for the past week with the never-ending cold, and I've found it prudent to mix up my sources of chicken noodle soup. Noodles & Co. happens to serve chicken *noodle* soup, so I placed an order on GrubHub. I also ordered their Wisconsin mac and cheese, 3 of the garlic bread, 2 rice krispie treats, one snickerdoodle, and one parmesan crusted chicken tender, which arrived cut into pieces -- nice and convenient. I will say that they should staple their to-go bags. When the delivery driver handed it to me, he looked oddly uncomfortable (maybe I just looked super sick, I don't know) but the bag was wide open and gaping heat. Hadn't been even crinkled shut to lock in any of the temperature. Dude could've easily snagged a bite of anything. Oh well -- I don't have an entourage (or family) to deliver food when I'm sick sooo random delivery drivers it is. The chicken noodle soup was probably the tastiest item of the bunch. I enjoyed the thick noodles and the broth was nicely seasoned as well. The mac and cheese wasn't anything special at all, but it was made slightly better by the chicken addition. The garlic bread tasted straight up charred and otherwise had no exciting flavor (yay for worthless carbs), and the desserts were both subpar. I've tried Noodles & Company in the past, though it may have been more of their classic pasta dishes. I recently tried the Spicy Korean Beef Noodles and it was not good. It was a bit more wet than I expected and the flavor was more sour than the advertised "sweet & spicy". I also tried the Tomato Bisque soup and it was more of a marinara-like consistency and also tasted more like I was eating marinara from the jar that had been heated up. Nonetheless, I do think it is in a good location and I will likely return and give the classic noodle dishes a try again. read more

I've came here before, but it has always been for lunch during the workday with a friend/coworker. My go to bowl is the Japanese Pan Noodles - with or without the protein. I don't like getting the large bowl because it's pretty big for me. The last time I came here I ordered the small bowl of Japanese Pan Noodles and a side of the Mac & Cheese (to get my cheese craving). It was pretty good and tasty! I love flavors that this dish comes with. You can order it spicy and with/without the available proteins. The description of this dish consist of "caramelized udon noodles in a sweet soy sauce, broccoli, carrots, shiitake mushrooms, asian sprouts, black sesame seeds and cilantro". SOOOOO goood!!!! The only thing that I didn't like was the side of the mac and cheese. It seemed quite soupy when I got the bowl and it just wasn't my kind of mac and cheese. I'm the kind of girl that has to have her mac and cheese thick and creamy and out of this world!!!! Hahaha. Pretty bummed I missed out on this place when they were in New York-petition to bring it back?? I had no idea they had such a variety and while my dish was still relatively unhealthy, I'm pretty happy they allow the option of zucchini noodles instead of pasta to save some carbs and calories. I got the zucchini truffle Mac and cheese which came with toasted breadcrumbs and then a side of the Thai chicken soup. The size was just the right amount and the taste was scrumptious, just a hint of spicy and not heavy at all. The whole meal was delicious. I've eaten Noodles & Co plenty of times but it had been a while since my last visit. I'm currently eating certain things (fruits and veggies) and I wanted to finally try one of their zoodle options. I saw they had about 3 zoodle options and I chose the Zucchini Romesco. I requested that the feta be left off based on my current diet restrictions. It took about 8 minutes for me to receive my meal. Once my food was ready the cashier brought it directly to the table where I was sitting! I got the meal and doubled checked it before leaving to make sure the feta wasn't there. I was so hungry that I started to eat it once I got to my car. The sauce was very rich and tasty. The zoodles weren't too soft and had a texture and a little crunch to them. The menu stated it comes with garden vegetables but I wasn't sure of what all was included in that. As I was eating I found out it was broccoli and carrots. The portion was so big that I couldn't finish it in one sitting. I saved the rest for the next day. I would definitely go back to this location because it was clean and the customer service was good. I've always been a huge fan of noodles and co. They have so many options and the portions are always a great value. Usually, I can make two lunches out of their BBQ Mac & cheese! I eat here a lot for work lunches, and it's great because you can order and pay to online, then head to the register to pick it up without waiting in line! I usually try to only take a half hour for lunch so it's great that I can get in and out and back to the office quickly. Today I ordered the bbq Mac and cheese and it looked extra glorious so it prompted me to finally write a review. I'm knocking off a star however because the interior isn't always clean. I put my order in right before I leave my office, which is 1.5 miles away from this location, and every time I enter the store my order is sitting in the pickup station waiting for me. I love it. The store is always clean and from the 1 or 2 times I've used the restroom it was sanitary as well. My food is always correct and still hot by the time I make it back to the office to dig in. A great restaurant to bring kids, and the restaurant has a good healthy kids menu to choose from. The restaurant is accessible and has bathrooms that both have changing stations mounted to the wall. It also has a nice outdoor sitting area. This location also serves wine and beer for busy moms and dads, who might need a drink while out with the family. I have been to Noodles and Co. several times, with my latest trip today. I have always had pretty good experiences. The noodles were always cooked perfectly, kinda like al dente, but not... if that makese any sense. I always get the pad thai with shrimp. The pad thai here is a little bit sweeter, but I like the taste. They layer it with fresh bean sprouts, basil, carrots, and nice little lime on top. I think what keeps me going back is because the look and feel of the restaurant; it's a simple modern style and it's not over the top or distracting. The presentation of the food looks high quality and all the food looks so fresh and tasty. My latest trip was almost on point with my past experiences. This time, I don't think they used enough sauce to cook my pad thai; it just seemed slightly under seasoned. Service is always pretty fast though and you don't have to tip! Portions are a pretty nice size if you get the regular size bowl, and if you ask for a cup of water, you actually get a real cup of water! read more

When I arrived, I was rang up promptly but did have to wait a little while past the time I had ordered for, however, they did seem pretty busy for having just opened 10 minutes prior. I ordered the Alfredo MontAmore and the Penne Rosa, both with grilled chicken. I ate the first one for lunch and saved the other one the next day. The Alfredo MontAmore was pretty good. It had mushrooms, spinach, and cream sauce (I opted for no tomatoes). I wasn't a fan of the chicken, which I do remember not liking from previous visits. Not sure what it is, but it reminds me of prepackaged chicken. The same went for the Penne Rosa the next day. Good flavors but I just pushed around the chicken in my bowl. I did get a slice of carrot cake, and that was actually super delicious. The icing was perfect, and I'm not a fan of too sweet icings. We go to this location pretty often maybe twice every 2 weeks when we have cravings for noodles and their delicious cheesy bread sticks. The lady up front accidentally gave my gf the wrong order. She order the pasta Fresca. Prolly orders that every time when we come in. The fact they got it wrong and acknowledged the first time But the second time when they finally got the food out. I felt like the food they made was a bit rush. Like they threw everything on the plate and said here you go. They weren't busy tonight either. The least you can do is have some sort of pride cooking the dish correctly. She was not please after they cook it right. Food seem to be a bit off for her. End up not finishing it either. I used to go here a lot during my college years and tend to have lunch here when I am in the area and need to refuel. Great staff, clean place, and quick service. So- this was my second time going to noodle and company. I was really disappointed because it was so bland. I tried the noodles and company in VCU then this one in willow lawn. Maybe they need to add more sauce? Maybe they don't use enough seasoning? Maybe the noodles aren't prepared in salt water? I'm not sure but either way, my taste buds were not in agreement. This was the third visit I had a bad or lukewarm experience so I had to review. I should've known better when I walked in and the restaurant smelled like a dirty mop. The first time I received my food it had bean sprouts (which I had asked to remit) and the noodles were black and burnt. I returned to counter, explained the problems, and they brought me a new bowl. The second bowl had raw broccoli (should've been blanched or sautéed). Repeat counter process. The third bowl was about 1/2 full and had cold noodles. I left and went to Chick Fila. 2 stars for food: Ordered this for office lunch and I got the buttered noodles because I love egg noodles and was really craving them after seeing they were on the menu, cheesy garlic bread, and the tomato basil bisque. The noodles were a total let down--mushy and squishy and so unappetizing. The tomato bisque was very sweet, which is not what I want from tomato soup (see my love for Panini Grill's tomato soup!). Garlic bread was okay. This was my first time eating from here, but the mushy noodles really turned me off and I'm not sure I want to experiment again. 4 Stars for online ordering system: It's really nice that you can send a link to all your coworkers and they can submit their own order to you instead of having to go around asking evryone to write it down and then you relay that info over the phone, or whatever. I used to come here often whenever I was in town. A few weeks ago my boyfriend and I arrived and we were very patient because it took the clerk about 20 minutes to handle the guy in front of us. Yeah fine whatever. Then we did our order: a small pasta, mac n cheese, and a salad. We waited for a while and the manager told us they didn't have salad (we were the 2nd people there on a Sunday...) so she asked if I wanted something else or a refund, I said a refund. Then she told me to come to the register when I was done. I stood at the register while this manager did her very very best to ignore me for about 20 minutes.
