Definitely the best Korean food in Richmond - my opinion. I haven't had a bad thing on their menu yet just like some things better than others but all the seafood dishes are awesome. I can't say anything else other than you should go here if you want authentic Korean at a very reasonable price! And the staff has always been nice and answers any questions if I'm not familiar with a dish.

Noodles And Friends Ratings: 4.1/5 Food: 4.25/5 - My first time at this Chinese & Korean fusion restaurant, and it was much better than I expected. I went with my sister and two of our friends, and they have always been fans. We each got our own dishes, and I got to try my sister's dish too. See the descriptions of our meal below. - TangBok Bab [GET]: I got the fried pork with sweet and sour sauce with the vegetable fried rice combo. The pork was fried crispy with an insanely crunchy outer layer, and a juicy interior. It was fabulous. The sweet and sour sauce was thick and sticky but not too sweet, tasted more like a honey sauce, and I just wish it wasn't this thick; it just got heavy towards the end of the meal. I love the vegetable fried rice, which consist of onions, peas, carrots, and scramble eggs. It was chewy and fresh, wonderful CARBS. Make sure to mixed the rice with the black bean sauce, because it added a good flavor since the rice is bland. - WooJja Myun [GET]: My sister got the black bean sauce noodles with seafood soup noodles. The noodles are al dente and super chewy, cooked just right, and not soggy at all. It is topped with the black bean sauce; it's just a soul comforting dish. The seafood soup got a good amount of fresh seafood and the broth was rich and tasty. I think this is a great dish to get if you love noodles. Ambiance: 4/5 - Noodles and Friends is located in Grand Mart. An easy location with lots of parking. The interior is like a typical Asian grocery store food court with simple decorations and some tables and chairs for dine-in. There's a bunch bakery items for sell as well at the cashier counter area. It is definitely a great spot if you are looking for a casual meal alone or with friends if you guys are short on time. It's a cute spot. Price: 4/5 - I think they have slowly increased their prices over the year, according to my sister. I got the TangBok Bab for $15, and my sister got her WooJja Myum for $14, and they are prices after taxes. The portion sizes are great and huge, so if you are not hungry then you can definitely share it with another person. Service: 4/5 - The staffs are pretty efficient and fast at what they are doing. Menus are displayed at the front, and the ordering process is easy. We just told the cashier the order, and then they will call our order number once it's ready. They also give you a little cup for water, and it's self-served. BLUF: I'd say it's probably the best Korean food place in RVA, hidden in Grand Mart. Delicious fusion food at an unbeatable price. The place is never crowded and offers so many varieties and options on their menu. You will leave this place satisfied, and highly recommend the TangBok Bab.

Not bad! I was recommended this place by someone from Insta. She tagged me in a photo that was just fantastic and I made sure to go out there that week. My mom was actually in town on her birthday and spending some time with her grandson (aka my kid). For lunch, I decided to give this spot a try and order their spicy pork. It came wish a side of rice (very well portioned). I'm going to be honest and thought that the rice amount was small...but about halfway into the meal, boy was I glad that they didn't serve more rice with that. The spicy pork has A LOT of juice to it...so be sure to not wear white when eating this...or having a large napkin around your neck. The sliced zucchini was sauteed in the spicy sauce, along with A LOT of onions. The flavor was very good and was as good as the Korean restaurant up in NOVA by my parent's house. Wouldn't mind getting this dish again. While waiting, I decided to grab one of their Swiss Raspberry Cake for my mom to celebrate her Birthday at my house. (It's the least I could do since she was also babysitting my lil man.) The Swiss Roll cake was a hit. It was a little more on the sweeter side and def felt heavy afterwards. I recommend a good 1-2 inch slice cake with a side of milk (very tasty combo). I made sure to have my mom and dad to bring that back home with them to feed their other grandkids haha. A very easy location, plenty of parking. I'd like to try a different dish next time I decided to try this place out for lunch or have take out.

This place is my absolute favorite to stop in at whenever I'm in town. Its wonderful because the restaurant is inside of a grocery store so you can eat before or after you grab some groceries. The food here is top notch - super authentic and just amazing all around. I ordered the bulgogi and chicken fried rice which were both flavorful and filling. I also ordered the Jajangmyun and Japchae Noodles to go and ate them for dinner the following day which kept super well! I can't get enough of this place!

I have passed the sign so many times while shopping at New Grand and it's here at last. The restaurant tucked inside the store had several tables and a cooler of drinks and pastries. Right when you walk in you see the TV which provides pictures, numbers, name and prices of the variety of dishes. If your not familiar with Korean food this is really helpful. Also on the right side of the counter are flyers of more menu options. Once you order at the counter your receipt has a ticket number. When your order is up they display board will flash your number. I don't speak korean even though I am familiar with the cuisine so the number system was great for me. Some dishes on the menu have a Medium or Large option so read over the menu before you order. I got the #24 Tang Jja Myun which was basically a combo platter of what seemed to be a sweet and sour chicken and jajangmyeon ( black bean paste noodles cooked with onions and beef). My meal came with kimchi , onions, and danmuji (yellow radish). My plate was $11 something with tax and it was HUGE. I seriously only ate the jajangmyeon which was sooo good. It seriously tasted like a thick beef gravy cooked with caramelized onions. I personally never had this dish before and have been dying to try . I also have no idea what it's suppose to taste like. I had some of the chicken which was very crispy and make perfect leftovers. When your done they have a cart when you put your tray and dishes. I am personally really excited about is the variety of dishes they have. Compared to other Korean restaurants in RVA this definitely have more variety and the portions sizes are ridiculous. I really like how organized the menu itself is. Everything is organized by dish and they even have vegetarian options as well. They do take out orders which I literally saw a man walk out with a BOX to carry his takeout meal. Prices vary from $9-$24, definitely bring a group and get serval things to share. This is so close to my house so it's definitely gonna be dangerous for me and my wallet . I seriously love Korean food too!!

One of the best and authentic korean places in Richmond! The portions are great, quick ordering at the counter, and multiple korean dish options! I always get the Tangjjamyung (black bean noodles and korean sweet and sour pork). We also got the tofu soup that had seafood and so much flavor! I love that you also get side dishes with the noodles and fried pork. The noodles were glossy in the black bean sauce and the pork was still so crispy in the sweet & sticky sauce! Would definitely recommend trying this place out if you're near new grand mart!

    Galbitang

I have come to Noodles and Friends a LOT (as you can see from my many check-ins), and most of my visits have been very neutral. However, today we had a really bad experience. First of all, I ordered a galbitang (beef rib soup) and I asked for it to be not spicy. I checked with the lady at the cash register to make sure this was possible, and she assured me they could make it not spicy. However, when my soup came out, it was spicy - they took it back into the kitchen immediately upon realizing the error. Then, they gave me a seollongtang (ox bone soup) instead, and told me that it was impossible to make a non-spicy galbitang. These two soups are completely different and are at two different price points - one of them has beef rib with vegetables, the other has slices of beef. I was not consulted beforehand, and I had to argue to receive the price difference back. I just think it is very strange for a restaurant to assume that it is okay to give you something you did not order. Secondly, my father ordered the Grilled Croaker combo, as he always does. He noticed that the fish was very pink, and took it back to the cashier to ask if they could cook it a little more. The chef came out, looked at it, and declared that it was completely cooked. I mean, you can look at my picture. It's clearly not cooked all the way. Since my dad didn't want to eat uncooked fish, he was unable to eat the biggest part of his meal. My family was really disappointed by our experience today.

Super amazing food! Always come here to eat so I'm not hungry shopping around New Grand Mart. The pastries they sell too are also really delicious!

The Omurice, or egg wrapped around friend rice and drizzled in ketchup, with a side of lightly dressed coleslaw
    Serena T.

I love this restaurant! Located in New Grand Mart, it's never overcrowded, despite their delicious food and itty bitty corner space, and they offer so many menu options. Service is quick and efficient--all you have to do is wait for your number to appear on the screen, and then go pick up your food from the counter. The whole eatery has a charming little aesthetic that makes you forget it's inside a grocery store. Each order comes with a small plate of kimchi, danmuji (Korean pickled radish), raw onion, and fish sauce. The portions are HUGE and usually under $10. Typically I end up eating half my dish and then bringing the rest home for lunch the next day. I've had their seafood Udon, Japchae noodles (comes with a side of white rice), and Omurice (comes with a side of delicious coleslaw), and have absolutely zero complaints about any of them. You definitely get your money's worth here, and leave with a satisfied stomach (and wallet)!

They even have vegan kimchi and were so nice to bring out vegan gochujang because the one they have on the table is not vegan. We got the dolsat bibimbap and I always say the stone bowl is absolutely worth the extra money. The best part is always the crispy rice. Tteokbokki Having a vegan option without seafood was a great find. Most of the time the sauces have shellfish in them and I don't have the patience to make it from scratch. The noodles were cooked perfectly and they give you two vegetable dumplings on top. The sauce was nice and spicy without being too overwhelming. Kimchi pancakes: wish they had a bit more kimchi in them than the batter, but still good. Japchae with tofu, nice and almost beefy tasting. The black pepper was a nice punch. Korean fried tofu so nice and crispy with a really good sauce. I have been missing KFC since I turned vegan and good to know they have a good substitute for it. Service A good sized family run place where you can sit down or get take out. You order at the counter and they have a screen or you can be like us and take their paper menu to a table. A few four sized tables and some smaller two seaters. There was plenty of take out and delivery while we were seated. The person at the front was super helpful and patient as we tried to figure out what to order. They seemed busy and did not stop for too long the entire time. They came to bring us things and check in on us. Please use reusable cups for dining in and not styrofoam cups though! They have reusable utensils which is nice. Ambiance It's a fast casual place, but in a little strip mall in the county. They have K-pop playing and a stream of music videos so I didn't mind.

This place is consistent and clean, the staff is friendly, and the food is dangerously good. As many have said, you have to know what you're doing in order to make the most of this experience, and it IS an experience. You'll choose a soup base (all of them are good) which the waiters will bring and heat on your table. Then you'll hit the buffet and grab anything you want to add to your soup (they have all sorts of noodles, veggies, seafood and more). You'll also grab any meats you want to cook on your table's little grill. What I especially love is that the KBBQ and hot pot are all one flat rate, you don't have to order anything but your soup base and any drinks. I recommend getting a big plate for all of your soup add ons, and a small plate for your raw meats. They'll give you tongs to cook the meat and a giant pair of scissors to cut everything (wait to cut the meat until it's cooked). Apologies for the novel above, but maybe it will help someone. Yes it can be overwhelming if you're not used to the cuisine, but it is WORTH trying that something new. Qpot also has a full Chinese buffet, great for kids who are scared of the grill and the soup. We are truly in love with this restaurant. Thanks for always showing us a good time!

This is the kind of food that makes you stop mid-conversation and comment on how good it is. The bar service was equally impressive. We placed our order through the bartender, and despite it being a Tuesday evening, there was plenty of staff on hand. Multiple team members checked on us throughout our visit, and every interaction was friendly, welcoming, and genuine. What really stood out was the sense of community. Although it's a relatively new addition to the Forest Hill area, it's already clear that locals have embraced it. They even have branded merchandise and cycling gloves for sale, and during our visit we watched several cyclists roll up, hop off their road bikes, and come inside still wearing their cycling gear. It felt like a true neighborhood gathering spot. Places like this give a neighborhood character, and Kobop Korean feels like something special. The waiter said he's gonna ask if I can get a side of kimchi because that's also not an option as a side order. It's a no go for a side of kimchi. They said it's a different kind of kimchi they use for the rice dishes. Oh well, maybe I can suggest that be an option in the future. Someone told me that this place was better than Bonchon so I'm gonna compare the two. It's definitely a friendly, family atmosphere. Plenty of options on the menu. Outside dining as well as inside. Appears to be very clean. Rice - mushy not how I like it. it has a hint of something it's not regular white rice. But it's also not Jasmine because I like Jasmine rice. Interesting. I definitely expected better rice. Not rice pudding. I didn't know the wings came with French fries but they were bland. Not even any salt. Chicken- they only gave me 2 flats and 6 little drumsticks. Ok, it's a little spicy which was also unexpected. I really don't care for them at all. The waiter was nice and checked on me a few times. I wasn't offered any ranch or blue cheese or any other kind of dip for that matter. I asked if they had buttermilk ranch, they did not, just regular ranch. No offering of wetnaps either. I had to pour some water on a napkin to wipe my hands. Since I said I'm comparing, I'm gonna have to give it to Bonchon for the better wings, the better taste of the soy garlic, and the rice. Sorry bb.q I'm disappointed.
