I used to take my European car here, but stopped due to their repeated dishonest practices. Thought it was time to write a review since reading similar experiences. I don't know if it's because I'm a female that they saw me coming and tried to quote me for work equivalent to "replacing the oil in my head lamps". I wish I was exaggerating, I am not. Ender outright refused to give me any documentation for any work they did. I went to them several times, but over time noticed that he became more rude, chauvinistic, and dismissive when I pressed for any kind of documentation that I could keep on record for my vehicle. Maybe they've been forced to provide actual documentation now, but their business practices have not changed. He gave me credit card receipts for payment and nothing more. No document outlining what they did - brake measurements, fluid levels, parts, labor, nothing. One reason this matters is because when I took my car to a proper mechanic and the dealership, they both independently confirmed the work that Ender was supposed to have done was not done at all. This was not minor work. It cost me thousands of dollars to basically walk out with the same problem that I went there with. I would have pursued this to recover my money but it was too long after the work had been done. They went through my glove box, I know this because his worker who rifled through my things told me. Apparently, he didn't think there was anything wrong with that. Another lesson learned, sidenote especially for females, empty your glove box when taking your car to any mechanic from now on. I certainly have. It's not just the big things, but little things too. For example, they charged me $120 to wash the inside of my headlamps and I fell for it because I wanted to give them the business at the time. I thought they were being kind and watching out for me when it was the exact opposite. I feel like a dodo bird now, knowing that I was being fleeced. So BUYER BEWARE, especially females. Go somewhere you won't be seen as a sucker with a blank check. read more

I came to NorCal Eurotech expecting a straightforward repair and left with the original problem unresolved and serious concerns about how my questions were handled. The repair was only part of the problem; Ender's response when I questioned the charge was what concerned me most. I took my Volvo to NorCal Eurotech because the A/C and windshield washer system were not working. I asked for an A/C diagnostic and wanted the windshield washer system repaired. Ender diagnosed the A/C as needing a new compressor and told me the washer pump needed replacement. I authorized the pump replacement. The invoice also notes that washer fluid was leaking at the reservoir and right headlight and that the washer pump did not activate. The pump cost $45, with $100 labor to remove and install it. When I picked up the car, Ender told me the washer system had been working but had stopped again just as I arrived. My concern was simple: I was paying $145 toward repairing the windshield washer system, but the system still did not work. When I tried to ask further questions about the charge and what still needed to be repaired, Ender repeatedly cut me off with statements such as, "If you don't want the pump, I can pull it right now." I repeatedly told him I did not want the new pump removed. I was not objecting to replacing a defective pump; I was trying to understand why I was paying $145 and still leaving with a nonfunctioning washer system. Each time I tried to continue that conversation, he again said he would pull the pump out. At one point he began walking toward the car while continuing to say he would remove it as if he was going to pull it right then and there, despite my repeatedly telling him to leave it in. I experienced his repeated statements that he would "pull the pump right now" as threatening, particularly because he continued saying it after I repeatedly told him not to remove it. I found the way my questions were handled very unprofessional. There was another issue after I left the shop. The next time I drove the car, just a few miles, the front underbody panel/splash shield completely fell off as I pulled into my driveway. Because this happened so soon after the car was serviced and because it was not hanging or dragging; it had detached entirely, I was concerned that NorCal Eurotech had not properly resecured it. I cannot say with certainty what caused it to detach, but the timing was curious. My main complaint is not that the pump was replaced. My concern is that I paid $145 toward repairing the windshield washer system and still left with a system that did not work. More troubling was Ender's response when I questioned the charge. Rather than allowing me to discuss my concern, he repeatedly cut me off by saying he would "pull the pump right now." I found that behavior extremely unprofessional. read more

They saw me coming... Had my 2013 Fiat 500 repaired here again. First time last May, 2024 they replaced the battery and charged me over almost $400. The car had 28,000 miles on it then. The battery failed again a month ago and finally got it towed back there to see why it still wouldn't start. The milage at this time was 30,070. I was called back by the owner and told that the reason the car wouldn't start (even though being charged through a "smart charger" when I was away from home more than a week) was because the car needs to be driven not just charged. That sounded logical, and I thanked him for getting the car running again. THEN, he told me that since my car was at 30,000 miles it needs a full check up, and inspection. I asked how much it would cost and was told "around $400 or so, for an inspection, oil change and spark plug change". Showed up to get my car this a.m. and received a bill for $748.84. Was also told that there was something wrong with my steering column that wasn't there when I had the car towed in. (An effort to soak me for more money.) I was livid but decided to just pay and go and was then told that they only take paper checks or cash without and additional charge... read more

Ender, you seem like a kind man so I'm not sure why you have dishonest business practices. I originally came in for a check engine diagnostic and agreed to pay the $200 fee for it. Upon doing the diagnostic, Ender called and recommended a brake switch repair. He said -- and I quote -- if you do the brake switch repair, your total will be $296. I agreed to this amount. When I came in to pick up my car, I received a bill of $370.80 (it was $360 flat, but Ender does not tell you on the phone that there is a $10 surcharge if you don't bring your checkbook). Without my consent, Ender put a brake system diagnostic fee of $100 on my tab and followed it with a $60 bulb replacement. No brake switch repair. Had I known this was his plan, I would have never agreed, but he did not update me on what he planned to do. I feel scammed and cheated, but felt uncomfortable in the shop so I paid and left. I had planned to return for future repairs but I don't trust a mechanic that won't be upfront with you about costs and keep you in the loop about what it is he plans to charge you. I would leave 0 stars if I could! Ender, you seem nice, you need not cheat people to receive business. I hope you take this advice. Do not come here unless you are able to blow through money and be charged for whatever he feels like! read more

Ender is the best technician I've ever met. I worked for him years ago when his shop was a small place on Dillon Avenue. I learned a lot from him that I apply today as a technician. His professionalism, integrity, vast knowledge and diagnostic skills are second to none. My parents have taken their cars to here and I have too. I had to have the power steering pump and hoses on my old 2001 Toyota Camry V6 replaced. I dropped it off and Ender called me the same day to let me know that the hard lines for the power steering would need to be replaced as well, which meant it would take longer to do, as they were difficult to route. The work was top notch. I only brought it back because the pump fittings began leaking a little as the result of a prolonged drive home, but they had it remedied immediately. The whole job cost a little more than originally estimated due to the hard lines, but it was still very reasonable. I highly recommend taking your car here, whatever the job may be. read more

I have an unusual diesel vehicle that most mechanics have either not wanted to work on, or have not been able to do good work on (it's a 1990 imported Japanese MMC Delica camper van). Thank goodness for Ender and his shop, as my van is running beautifully now, so much better than ever before! I have the confidence I've always wanted, to take my camper van off-the-beaten-track, trusting that I'll both make it to where I'm going, and also make it home again afterwards! I'd wanted for some time to put a new engine in my van (one with 30 years of engineering improvements), and I arranged for shipping a brand new engine from South Korea to Ender's shop. This was not a straight engine swap, but he and his employees did the most fantastic job on replacing the engine and tuning its performance. I took it for a real stress test the other day, up and down hills in as wild an area as our locale offers, and it performed absolutely flawlessly. I am so thrilled with my van's performance, a testament to all the time and effort Ender put into it! I must add too, that Ender is so good at responding to questions and calling to discuss all the details with me throughout his work, so that I know where he's at and what he's planning to work on next. Took my 2017 Audi Q5 in for 36k maintenance and brake check since warranty expired 6 months ago. Vehicle had less than 40k miles. Brakes were still ok but an antifreeze leak, rear strut leaking, ft idler arms and bushings needed amongst other items. Failed water pump, cross over pipe that turned out to be plastic and hoses literally glued on from the factory. Folks, Ender had ALL the old inferior parts, I have an automotive background and this was expen$ive. Part my bad for not getting checked out before warranty expired but my lessons learned, Ender kept me informed along the way, was courteous and honest plus the quality of work was really good. I"ve been taking my 18 year old BMW wagon to Ender since 2017.
