Very small and you REALLY need to work with the people who work in TBD. I am a frequent Nordstroms shopped and this is the first time I have EVER received atrocious customer service. I never once was asked if I needed help and then when I got to the register NO ONE helped me, one girl (didn't get her name, she was a larger girl with a chambray shirt on) she was too busy doing something else and just kept me standing there. It wasn't till one of the other sales associates was about to ring someone up in front of me that I spoke up again and asked why no one was ringing me up after standing at the register for ten minutes. He was apologetic but I already had my mind made up that I won't visit this location ever again. I'll stick to Nordstroms online or my local store where the service is outstanding. read more

I really like Nordstrom and buy the vast majority of my work clothing there but I am not particularly crazy about this place because: 1. The customer service isn't quite up the the level as other Nordstroms. 2. The inventory and selection is more limited as well. Either that or I've become more picky and selective (definitely possible I admit). So if you have the means to do so, I'd suggest going to another Nordstrom and only come here in the interest of time and convenience. read more

Best department store ever. This Nordstrom is a heaven of all things stylish and an oasis of peace. They are ever so friendly and attentive, on all floors and in all sections. Their cafe serves wonderful food (top level), and its quality is miles apart from the terrible food court (which charges the same price) in the Pentagon Mall. My favorite is the women's shoes department. Michael is fantastic. Comfy and luxurious seats for you to lounge around while waiting for them to bring out your sizes. The entire floor is open, inviting and so pleasant. Every staff who walks by will always ask if you are being helped. Checking out is amazing too. They would go to the counter and get everything sorted out and bring the receipt to you all while you are comfortably seated. No standing and waiting in line. I never saw any line there. And it is never crowded. read more

Nordstroms is ok. I stopped by because I needed to replace my foundation at the MAC counter. It wasn't super busy but for some reason it took a minute before some one would help me. The people at the counter all seemed new so I hope their customer service was a reflection of the lack of experience. After I stopped by MAC I went to find a white blazer. There were no selections in any of the departments I went to. Sigh. I came to the Pentagon City Nordstroms because I live five minutes away, but honestly I think I would have been better off going to the one in Tyson's Corner. read more

I had a question about Topman suits, and I got a very helpful and prompt response via email. The department manager of Men's Casuals really made sure I found what I was looking for which I appreciated. And I love that Nordstrom carries Topman suits. As a skinny vegan (I don't wear wool) - it's very hard to find suits that fit - especially in the US where men's clothes seem to cater to larger men. Topman is stylish, affordable, they have suits with no animal products, and they have lots of options for slim/skinny men. This is also a convenient location to get to from downtown DC which I like. read more

I've been a fan of Nordstrom for over 25 years. However......The quality of merchandise and brand selection has recently deteriorated, this began before Covid. It seems there is more focus on cheaply made leased-type brands. I understand that merchandise selection must vary according to what sells in a particular demographic area. But the changes have been noticeably drastic. I shop in the DC area and NYC. This change is most evident in the recently opened Manhattan store. It's a disappointment with its limited choices, a large internet pick up area, numerous coffee bars and a publicly viewed denim alterations department.. There's very little merchandise on the floor and very cheaply finished fitting rooms. It does not feel like a genuine Nordstrom experience at all. Seems as though the Nordstrom brothers are experimenting and restructuring their entire marketing on a prediction that future retail will be infused with internet shopping. What a huge disappointment. I long for any part of the original shopping experience they used to offer. read more

I'm really NOT a Macy's or Nordstrom kind of guy. This review is for Nordstrom's in-store bistro ONLY. After some power shopping with my girl, (I tagged along) we decided to try their bistro. I assumed it would be average and the prices would be ridiculously high. Neither was the case. We split a turkey & bacon sandwich. And I have to tell you, it was surprisingly amazing. We also split a small salad. Even the croutons were fresh and tasty. I asked if the bread was baked on site. I was told that the company that supplies their bread also supplies the White House. Service was attentive and the place was quite clean. We will be back again for sure. read more

This review is for the Beauty Stylists / Cosmetics Department I had a negative experience with a Nordstrom Beauty Stylist (Bbee), but it was rectified by management and I was redirected to the Dior Counter where I had a wonderful experience with Stacey. My original appointment was with Tia. When I needed to reschedule, I called; Bbee answered the phone and said she would call Tia. If she couldn't get in touch with Tia, she would accommodate my appointment change herself. Later that evening I received a text from Bbee confirming 11a with Bbee, saying that she couldn't get in touch with Tia. The next day, I arrived at 11a. Bbee was nowhere to be found - even her managers couldn't find her. Tia said that Bbee never reached out to her to reschedule me. I texted Bbee to let her know I was waiting for her and she replied that she was "tied up with paperwork" but would be there soon. 15 minutes later, nothing. The Cosmetics Dept manager sent me to the Dior counter where I had a wonderful experience with Stacey. Alls well that ends well, but with a Department Store that has the reputation of Nordstrom, I would expect all employees to operate with integrity (not stealing each other's clients) and timeliness to their customers. Hopefully Bbee can learn from her missteps. Until then, I will be seeing Stacey at Dior. She was *amazing* and a talented makeup artist and friendly person to talk to. read more

A worn pair of Nike's were delivered to me. So tasteless! The laces had spots on them, the body of the shoes had creases on them, and the bottom had tar dark spots on the soles & bottom of shoes. As a inconvenience, you have to return to the store for a full refund. Or select another pair of shoes. Unfortunately for me, the shoes I purchased are sold out. **This comment is for MAC at Nordstrom** Customer service at this location is slim to none. I typically only go to MAC to get my makeup done for various galas and events, when my usual artist at Saks is unavailable. The last time I went I arrived 30 minutes before my appointment time. They told me they could not take me earlier which was fine so I walked around the store. I came back about 5 minutes before my appointment and several of the makeup artists kept rushing by me as there is no where to stand while you're waiting. About 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment time a woman tell me to go sit in the first chair and someone would be right with me. A few minute later she returns and asks what kind of look I was going for. She walked away to get the colors, or so I thought. A few minutes later, I hear her talking with someone who I presume was the manager and the manager tells her to go take her break. Like I wasn't sitting there waiting for her to do my makeup. The next thing I know another woman who'd been standing around the entire time I was there comes over to tell me that she was going to do my makeup. If that was the case she could have started 30 minutes earlier instead of them wasting my time and making me late for my gala. She ended up doing a decent job but I didn't have time to let her do any finishing touches because I had to run home to get dressed and make it to the gala before it got any later. Not impressed by this location nor their lack of respect for their customers. read more

4 stars for mostly organized past season shit. 5 stars for having better past season shit than other bargain basement shops like Marshal's or Ross. I fucking hate Ross. I really fucking hate Marshals. You can't even compare those two entities to Nordstrom Rack. The big difference is that NR actually has stuff they carry at Nordstrom whereas Marshal's or Ross have the most random shit ever that I have no idea what department store in America carries their stuff. Seriously. Look at the labels!! Anywaymovingthefuckrightalong... Nordstrom Rack offers great labels at great prices. I got a Tory Burch dress for $19.00. $19.00!! That's like 99.999999% off the retail price. You can also find Madgley Mishka gowns on retarded discount (albeit might need a dry cleaning cycle) and of course let's not forget to mention the Rack's super enormous selection of Juicy Couture jump suits. Again... think "what does Nordstrom carry?" Then that's what you will find here only at a super discount and to be honest, better variety. Their clearance section is a shit show so I never go through it and yes, as a whole, the store is slightly unorganized, but much more organized than other places such as Marshal's or even other Racks I've been to. This review is for the men's department at Pentagon City. I approached two women sales associates chatting on the not-busy floor, mid-afternoon Monday, Dec. 17, and got one's attention to ask if they had cashmere socks. She said all the socks were "over there" -- and pointed to the nearby sock display. I had already spent time at the display but couldn't find any cashmere socks. I told her this and said I thought she might know. She didn't and again pointed to the sock display, suggesting I "go through them." Really? This is Nordstrom? I'm a long-time Nordstrom credit card holder but haven't been in the store for a long time. Nobody wants to go to malls, but I went because I thought I would get personal service and the answers to questions I had after looking at the substandard website. Very disappointing. Two words: MAD HOUSE. Yes, it's opening day. Yes, it's in a really busy area and I went around lunchtime. The bottom line, however, is that this place will always be hell to shop. The Nordy Rack at Potomac Mills still remains queen: It's the biggest, it has the best layout and the way the merchandise is organized rules. Back to this one. Small, cramped, crowded. The discounts aren't very deep, though I did score a pair of Cole Haan patent wedges for $99, but I could do that at a Cole Haan outlet. The pickings were slim. Not a lot of variety. Clothes were largely organized by designer, with the exceptions of coats and dresses. While I did appreciate the James Perse rack, and there were Savvy and Individualist (departments at Nordstrom) racks, most of the goods were parceled out by brand, which I'm not a fan of. This place was beyond crowded. Women were stupidly schlepping their shopping carts down already-tight shoe aisles. The designer shoe offerings here eclipse any of the other area NR's; there were close to 10 shelves of designer daps. For as slammed as it was, the staff kept cool heads and were super friendly. The line wrapped around the store but moved quickly--they had a great system in place. Overall, I'll save my shopping for the Pot Mills location, only because I go down every weekend to see my parents anyway. If I didn't, I might deal with the chaos that is this store. In a nutshell, this place would give people who don't like to shop PTSD, and those of us who love to shop might actually reconsider our hobby because this location is super frustrating. read more

I love Nordstrom! It's my favorite store. I love going to Nordstrom @ The Fashion Centre at Pentagon City. It's so convenient. I hop on and off the Metro (Blue or Yellow Line). I feel Nordstrom @ The Fashion Centre at Pentagon City has gone downhill. No more Salon Shoes. The former Salon Shoes section is now a pick-up area for online orders. The restrooms are in need of renovation. Nordstrom needs to update all their older Nordstroms to be consistent with the newer Nordstroms (bells and whistles). Especially the Nordstrom in New York City. The Nordstrom at Tysons Corner Center is the jewel in the crown for the Nordstrom in the Washington, DC Metro area. read more

I'm not a huge fan of the layout of this Nordstrom... it all seems a little disjointed to me. Still, this is one of my favorite department stores in the area. My first love was (obviously) the shoe department. Nordstrom's is known for their incredible shoes, and for good reason. Lots of brands you won't see elsewhere and a great spread in terms of prices. Also, fantastic sales and great service. While I feel like this location isn't as well stocked as I'd like, it's still a great place to browse. Customer service here is just as superb as other nordstrom locales. I was hesitant to come here for the anniversary sale since I'm not a huge fan of all the dirty tourists milling about the mall. Gratefully, the middle school field trips and similar stay on the food court level for the most part. I had excellent service in the shoe department... they will order a pair for you and have it shipped free of charge if they don't have the item in stock. In another department, I had a manager (?) take down my contact info to let me know when they will be getting in more colors of a jean style I love. Honestly the customer service at nordstrom is better than any other store I've gone to. Somehow they strike just the right balance of helpful without being pushy. Disclosure: my main shopping experiences here (not all) are ordering online and picking up curbside. All of my experiences here have been very pleasant. The worst time was going two days after Christmas, but that had to do with the crowd, not the store or employees! I too had a few returns/exchanges to make and the staff at the third floor guest services counter could not have been nicer about it! I've since then been a big fan of ordering online and just picking up outside. I'm always very cheerfully greeted by name, and they usually throw in some samples for me to try too! During the holidays they even included a cute little s'mores kit. Those thoughtful touches have earned my repeat business. read more

THIS SHOULD ALSO ADD 'BRA FITTING' TO ITS LIST. I am one of many women who aren't IN LOVE with their bodies. I'd love bigger boobs, perkier boobs, happier boobs! And while I can't say that the 3-way mirrors or bright fluorescent lights change your body image, I can say that these bra fitters are the best. My fiancé had a bra fitting with a tiny Asian woman who found her the PERFECT BRA. I had my first fitting last week with Margaret Baer. She was patient, kind and reaffirming that you WILL find the right bra that makes you look your best. I recommend going to be fitted (it's free!) and you're not required or expected to buy a bra, but I bet you will walk away without a bra that does your boobs justice. Despite my previous review getting some attention and response, things (in the men's department) seem to have gotten worse. Two men were working on what seemed to be a fairly slow Saturday; only one acknowledged me (the other just stood there). When I asked the one that acknowledged me (bald headed guy, apparently he's one of the managers) where the John Varvatos table was, barely looking up from the register (he was sorting some clothes), he mumbled "we have a table up front". When I mentioned that the reason why I liked Varvatos was because the make XXL, he quipped "yea that makes sense". Wow! Fat shaming much? So rude. I'll never come back here. Guess I'll check out the website. As for how this story ends: I found the John Varvatos table on my own. Again, no one bothered to help. Funny how massage place here in the same mall had better service. And they barely speak any English (but at least they smile respectfully). read more

This review mostly pertains to the Make-Up department of the store - particularly the Bobbi Brown make-up section. I needed to replenish my supply of Bobbi Brown black ink gel eyeliner. I had originally bought it at the Sephora in Paris but the Sephora in the US didn't carry it. Enter, Nordstrom! I was almost immediately approached as I got to the makeup department and started looking for the eyeliner. I only wanted to buy the one thing and I had no one pressure me into any of the other products which I appreciated. The saleswoman was really friendly and offered to sign me and a guest up for a free make-up makeover/consultation when the Bobbi Brown rep from NYC was going to be in town. Sweet!! So this past weekend, my roomie and I showed up for our 12:30 appts and had a great time. My makeup artist was Darin and he did a great job teaching me about some of the products and how to use them. I did end up buying some of them but again, there was no pressure to do so. I even bought lipstick...which is a HUUGE step for me and my chapstick/lipgloss look that I still love. I was going for a more polished/professional look that Darin helped me achieve. On a side note, the NYC rep was REALLLLY HOT. He chose the lipstick color and blush and applied both to my face and I was really excited about that. If he wasn't gay, I'd totally have jumped him. Incredible eye candy...I was sort of in love with him at that moment. I am newly in love with Bobbi Brown make-up and their salestaff at Nordstrom. Incredibly friendly, helpful and knowledgable. After two weeks, TWO WEEKS of shopping for a dress for the SO's company holiday party I had just about given up completely. Michelle L. kept badgering me about Nordstrom Rack "ya know, across the street FROM Nordstrom". So I finally took the metro in (how convenient!) and got ready to dig. I knew I wanted a full length gown. And my heart sank as I approached the rack of dresses. There were 2 in a size 2. A velvet brown one, and a cream one. I sighed and slid the brown one to the left, and looked the cream one and FELL IN LOVE. Its exactly what I was looking for!! Satin, full length, embroidered straps, and a perfect bodice for my busty self. Can I mention that it was a $600 dress 80% off?! The store is very clean, and the associates in the fitting rooms are very nice. I had the tailor come have a looksee at the dress, and we determined I should be given an extra inch in the bodice for comfort and incase I want to wear a bustier. The alterations are done onsite and are very reasonable, ~$30. Multiple lanes with cashiers ready to go. No fuss, no drama. In and out in 30 minutes with a great find. I saw a lot of other items I would love to buy but I will have to come back another day to splurge. ***side note** if you are a size 8 or bigger they have a much more diverse selection for larger sizes. I love Nordstrom-- not because I'm wealthy (I'm not), or a brand snob (I am), but because they are one of the few major chains who still believes in SUPERB customer service and training their employees. Though everyone has been helpful, I want to spotlight two employees. Alicja at the Shiseido cosmetics counter and Alexis in women's shoes. Every occasion my wife and I visit this Nordstrom, we come to see Alicja. She's friendly, personable, and very easy to talk to. Never any pressure to buy and always tons of free samples. Because of her willingness to listen, she's turned someone who couldn't care less about facial moisturizer into a loyal buyer of $31 facial lotion. Today we met with Alexis who had worked clean through her lunch break because of how busy her department was. Though I suspect she was bordering on hangry, she greeted my wife and I with a smile and a set of good ears. The shoe my wife was looking for was out of stock in her size, but Alexis took a leap and brought out several other choices that might work. Sure enough, my wife found a pair of shoes she loved and went for it. Not only did Alexis manage to conquer her hanger long enough to treat us like old friends, she succeeded in helping my wife to purchase her first other-than-black pair of heels. Huzzah! We've made this our go-to Nordstrom and would happily recommend it to others. Thanks! read more

Although the selection of clothing is constantly changing, this location consistantly leaves me disappointed. I am always looking for high end designer deals, but you won't find that here. I LOVE the Potomac Mills Norstrom Rack, but this store is far from par to their designer clothing and shoe selection. Don't go out of your way to visit here. Inside the pentagon mall... Nordstrom is a nice clean department store...everything is places neatly...there is a good amount of people working there...lighting is actually pretty bright... I enjoy most of exterior in the store... I didn't actually walk around and shop...I just walked in and walked out since stores were closing... But from what I saw prices are a little pricey... But nice things are always pricey Isn't it ?!? Nordstrom has two floors...there is a restroom..basically sells clothes assorted jewelry and shoes... Hopes this help! read more

I am especially pleased with the children department at my favorite location. I needed a particular shoe for a special event that wasn't in store. Jada went above and beyond to order the item I requested. Jada gave great customer service over the phone and full details on when my item will arrive. Jada also suggested the customer rewards program to earn points on each purchase I complete. With the holidays approaching I will certainly be visiting Nordstrom (pentagon city location) more often now that I can receive points towards all my purchases. Nordstrom is great. This Nordstrom however isn't the largest or best managed Nordstrom. Park in the parking garage with entrances from Army Navy Dr and 15 St S. Nordstrom will validate your parking for you. Like some Yelpers experience, I have encountered push back when validating my ticket. If I was simply returning an item, chatting with a sales clerk, purchasing $60 worth of make up or $400 shoes makes a difference, apparently. Some clerks say over $25, some simply need to see a receipt, and others just want to see the bag, but they do eventually validate. The men's selection is far superior to the women's at this location. The men's tailoring is complimentary, of course, and returns are accepted when needed no questions asked. The women's selection for shoes is truly dismal! There's a Vince Camuto in the mall that sometimes I can find decent signature line shoes in but I usually end up at Tysons Corner Nordstrom where the women's shoe selection is extensive with all the designer names you hope to see. The women's dress selection is small but a little better stocked than the shoes. The women are courteous and go above and beyond in serving. The tailoring is average $50 for anything you want done and pick up is in 8-9 days. Honestly just buy it then take it to your own tailor! The women's clothes - jeans specifically is almost nonexistent here. I never find anything in stock at this Nordstrom :/ The selection in the beauty department is rather extensive. I recommend Tysons Corner Nordstrom but if you must make a trip then this is great substitute. read more

I was the dreadful customer who came to the men's shoe department very near to closing time. (Only those who've worked retail can understand.) I was looking for a very specific pair of Sperry boat shoes. The kind I needed had been discontinued years ago, so to find the closest version has not been easy. That was, until Richard and Nick, two sales associates at Nordstrom, helped me to find THE pair. I explained to them what I was looking for and they instantly understood my dilemma. They helped me analyze every option and provided knowledgable insight and opinion. The kind of customer service provided by Richard and Nick at Pentagon City is the reason why I'll continue shopping at Nordstrom. I hope they earn a commission. The best customer service ever. I love that after finding out the devastating news that I needed new bras that I didn't have to run around the store looking for new bras in that size. They brought me 20 selections in my new size to the dressing room. I also didn't have to run around to find a pink shoe. I just told the associate what I wanted and he brought out various selections in my size. Last. They altered my dress in 36 hours and I made my flight. I just wish this location had a better selection of clothing. read more
