TL;DR- A decent slice of pizza for the price. While I wouldn't go out of my way to visit, it's perfectly acceptable. The rating is for the area, as FiDi is generally pretty terrible with options, including pizza outside of Neapolitan pies. This location is one of several from this NYC pizza chain. I've been to another one near Union Square, and my thoughts are similar for both places. The plain slice costs $3.50, has a decent amount of cheese, and a fresh sauce which is bright, but not super notable. I did find the overall flavor a bit salty, possibly due to the cheese blend or the sauce. The crust is thin and slightly crispier than what I've experienced elsewhere, but not so crispy that it tastes burnt, as I've encountered at some other places like Cello's. At $3.50, it's a solid option, definitely better than many other chains like La Pizza Italia or the subpar Little Italy Pizza/Ray's. Personally, I would choose to walk over to the much busier Joe's instead, but this place does the job just fine, and it's cheaper, though, as noted by others, thinner than Joe's, so it's a bit less filling. THE SALT. This pizza was too salty to really enjoy. The sicilian was well constructed, but again, too salty. Pepperoni pizza by default is a bit saltier than other slices, but this felt like a salt lick. The margherita pizza was also very salty. I felt parched after finishing both slices. I enjoyed Norm's pizza. It's a little bit on the pricey side, but I think if you enjoy quality, you'll certainly like it. The slices came relatively fast out of the oven when I got individual ones. The service was extremely nice. The people there are very knowledgeable about what they're serving -- when I asked questions about whether the pepperoni was made out of turkey or some other beef product, they knew their stuff. I've walked past Norm's Pizza countless times on my way to Joe's, but today I finally stopped in--and I'm glad I did. The regular slice is excellent and easily holds its own against many of my favorite NYC pies. The pizza is made with a 100% naturally leavened sourdough starter and baked in high-temperature electric ovens from Sweden, producing a crust that's thin, crisp, and deeply satisfying. No gimmicks, no unnecessary flourishes--just straightforward, no-frills New York pizza done right. Located in the same building as Century 21, the shop itself has a nostalgic feel. The mustard-yellow tones, wood-grain Formica, and retro fluorescent menu boards immediately brought to mind the original Papaya King on 86th Street. Norm's is a better slice than most pizzeria down in the Fidi area. I've tried a couple of places around and for paying for the same price, Norm's so far is the best by far. The one complaint I have for this place is how crowded this place gets with no extra spacing indoor. It makes the dining experience in the cold extra gruesome. The location is quite hard to spot if you are coming from the Freedom tower side. But it's really just located next to an arcade and Century 21 up the small hill. The service is very fast, which is ideal. Have been coming here since high school. The store changed a lot and got renovated into a nicer, modern pizza joint. Always came here for a cheese slice and garlic knots and the garlic knots were the bomb! I always use the high tables where you got to stand. The place is very clean and has a nice, whirt vibe. Not a loud environment. There are cheese and chili flakes condiments for you to put on your pizza. Love the chili flakes. Since I'm no longer near this pizza joint and in high school, I barely come here. This time I came back to getting a cheese slice and a sausage slice. Our favorite pizza of our trip to NYC. Great location. Very close to the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. We had worked up an appetite after being at the memorial and museum for several hours. We had tried Joe's earlier in our trip and this was wayyyyy better. There was no line and the pizza was so much better. This pizza hit the spot. I got a slice of the white pie and my husband got a slice of pepperoni and a slice of cheese. We both loved these slices. The white pie was lemony and cheesy. It tasted really fresh. Norm's vs Joe's has been debated here for a while. I recently visited NYC for a few days and had the chance to taste both multiple times. I grew up on NYC pizza (in Manhattan) and have been eating it for close to 60 years, so here is an informed view. Norm's is a good slice. People have commented on it being salty and it hits the pallet like that for the first bite or two. It is thinner (less substantial) than Joe's (probably the biggest difference) and that is why it costs $1 less (you get what you pay for) . But you won't wait 20-30 minutes for a slice (an insult to any true New Yorker). Near closing time I had a slice that was floppy and had poor texture, but that was the last pie of the day so kind of expected. Joe's is more substantial (more of everything) , and has that classic NY crust and mouthfeel. If time is not a concern go with Joe's . Norm's Pizza was one of our BEST impromptu stops and a gem of a discovery. This is what I love about NYC, you gotta walk around and have some availability to be spontaneous especially with meals. We got off the subway at City Hall to walk the Brooklyn Bridge. I remember having a delicious slice of pizza a decade ago but couldn't locate the place nor remember the name so we walked aimlessly in search of a pizza joint. One wouldn't think it would be such a challenge.... Fast forward to us stumbling upon Norm's Pizza which is actually closer to the Fulton Street Station. We learned this a couple of days later when visiting the 911 memorial. The pizza here is OUT OF THIS WORLD! The garlic knots were also incredible. They offer other items but we took advantage of the slices for a quick bite to hold us over until dinner. I had the white pizza which featured ricotta and the perfect amount of lemon zest, one friend enjoyed a cheese slice, and the other had pepperoni. All of us were smitten. There is only a humble bar area and two high tops for eating in. Bottled beverages are available for purchase. The prices are extremely user friendly and the service is outstanding. We not only enjoyed our pizza, but enjoyed learning about members of the team. We visited a second time when we realized it was near the 911 memorial and mirrored our original order. Once again, we were beyond smitten and I've already recommended this place to friends who're traveling to NYC for the holidays. Wanted to try a different pizza joint in FiDi and saw that Norms recently opened, so I figured I'd give it a go. My pizza partner and I were so glad we decided to stop by norms to grab a few slices to go. It's got a classic slice joint feel and the service was friendly and quick, however there is some but limited seating (so great for grabbing a few slices to go) We tried the vodka slice, avant garlic (a spinach and garlic forward veggie slice), and the hatch slice (cheese slice with pepperoni, sausage, and hatch chilis). All three were delicious (the avant garlic is very spinach forward tho), but what really stood out was the crust. It was some of the best I've had in a loooooong time! Oooh, this was a tasty slice! Popped in after a visit to the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, as it's not too far away. Was just wandering around and oh, hello pizza! Why not grab a fresh slice?! They've got a great vodka slice (I'd categorize it as my favorite vodka slice in FiDi) and their Hatch Supreme (pepperoni, sausage, hatch chilies) slice is awesome too. So good, that we got a whole pie recently! Plain slices are good, and reasonably priced for the area.
