The Normas breakfast is very decent. We've always gotten the SoCal breakfast or the bigger better breakfast and had a good experience! You do get a lot of food for your money! The online ordering is a little annoying because it doesn't have the kids menu, but they have a nice kids menu in store, they keep the restaurant itself nice and clean. Went for breakfast at 7am only one waitress working terrible service. She was not nice at all but when her regular customers came in she treated them so well and laughed with them served them totally different. I was so annoyed with her double standards. This was my first and last visit. Then when I got my bill she added a 3% surcharge, I asked what's this ? She said it's mandatory California law, a new tax to help increase wages. Came in today with my family for a late breakfast. The wait was not bad at all which was great since we had previously gone somewhere else where the wait was going to be 45 min. Once we were seated the waitress (who was great btw) took our drink orders then gave us a few minutes and got our food order. There was quite a bit of a wait for the food I'd say maybe 30 minutes, but that's prob due to the rush at the time. Once our food arrived we dug in which is where I'm giving the 2 stars. The hashbrows had zero flavor as well as the super small portion of eggs. My sibling had some steak which wasn't fully cooked (ordered well done). I did enjoy the pancakes, bacon (crispy) and sausage. The service at checkout was rushed, as she was on the phone and wasn't able to get my coupon (for checking in) due to me getting rushed to pay and her being distracted with the phone. So I came here for lunch. I ordered an omelette with home style potatoes and pancakes. Hm....omelette was ok, potatoes were hard. I wasn't irate, I wasn't rude, but I did speak up to our waitress. She then said if I wanted hash browns, I said, ok why not. Hm....they were burnt. Really. I mean come on, visually you can see that it was burnt. As a waitress I wouldn't have brought them out and given them to my customer after the first incident. Seemed to me like the waitress didn't care and was mad that I spoke up. My family have been customers of Norm's for over 12 years. But I will not be dining at this establishment again. Out experience has been fantastic until covid 19 happened. My family ordered delivery 3 times. Each time the food was not cooked properly, items were missing, and the quantity of food was poor. For example, I ordered strawberry waffles and either was given barely any strawberry or whipped cream. The last time the strawberries and whipped cream were missing. The food quality is also poor. My husband's hash browns were undercooked. The last time half his sausage was missing. All the food was stone cold also. Food should look appetizing, and on all three occasions it was thrown into a container literally. The last time I left a review the manager blamed the third party for the condition of the food. I worked in food delivery during Covid 19 we are not allowed to open the bag and check on the order for safety reasons. So of there are missing items that is the eatery's responsibility. I will not be ordering or dining here ever again. When we order food it is to splurge. For this to happen three times means that there is no care or importance on food quality or keeping long term customers happy. The manager takes no responsibility instead of apologizing and counseling his employees to correct their carelessness. I would be embarrassed and ashamed if I was manager. Congrats!! This Norms is always packed so it takes a while to be seated but all of the staff there are really nice ! The pancakes are super delicious! And I always get a side of strawberries and whip cream for them. They also have a few arcade machines in the lobby. We played after we were done eating and my son won a prize of a game worth up to $75 for 3 different consoles. Pretty cool. Overall a good diner! read more

I got breakfast and food was great, portions were hearty, and my server was amazing. She frequently came by to check how i was doing and refilled my coffee a few times. She was efficient and very kind. 5 stars for this. I had to lower to 3 stars due to my checkout/payment experience. There was one gentleman in front of me paying, I was waiting behind him to pay. Once he was done I was stepping towards the counter and another gentleman who was walking up from their dining table, not in line to pay, gave the employee at the register their receipt. The employee, Kim, started helping them out when I was clearly next to pay. I figured maybe she did not see me so I said " Oh, sorry I was next" she just said "ok" and continued to help the gentleman. I didn't think she understood me so I said "I have been waiting in line to pay, the gentleman came after me." I kid you not she said "You can wait". I am so confused what prompted this and irritated because it seemed she was doing it on purpose. I had not seen her other than this one time. I have been to this location twice in the last year, several months apart. Both times it was freezing inside. Both times had to ask for a warmer area, and both times reseating us only improved the temp slightly. Employees said they did all they could on the temperature and they knew it was cold. Ordered food for pickup this morning for myself and a few coworkers. I'm a huge fans of norms in whittier, and the portions that I've always received were not there at all today. I ordered the combo of 2 pieces of bacon, 2 eggs, hash browns, and hot cakes. I must have just been getting the leftovers off someone else's plate because this is only a full order for a toddler. Giving them credit as the food was prepared before my scheduled pickup time (albeit my food was cold by the time we got back) and the service was very sweet. I gave this location a Five Star for great service and good food. Appetizer: I ordered: A small green salad with Chicken Gumbo. I added Italian Dressing to my salad and was very tasty. Also; Chicken Gumbo Soup; A little spicy but oh so good. Entrée: I ordered: New Your Steak & Shrimp Plate; The steak was cook medium and was flavorful. The shrimp was breaded and fried to perfection. included; zucchini and a baked potato. they were tasty. I drank a Diet Pepsi to balance my meal. Diana ordered: Mushroom Spinach & Swiss omelet sautéed mushrooms, baby spinach, and swiss cheese. included; fruit bowl & English muffin. A good combination of flavors. Diana drank a Diet Pepsi with her meal. Dessert: I ordered a Red Velvet Cake topped with cream cheese and whipped cream. it was soft, sweet, and so delicious . We were greeted right away, but with a gruff voice. Our hostess also had a stone face. As we looked around, all the line, cooks, and all the waitresses, except ours, had grumpy faces. They never cracked a smile the whole time we were there. Our server, Natalia, was awesome though! She was pleasant, had a small smile, was very attentive and helpful. The food was very tasty though. Norms has good size portions for the price. Other restaurants charge the same amount, and give much smaller portions. We did notice that our appetizer sampler came out late, and was not really cooked right. The mozzarella sticks had not even been heated up to the melting point. They were just hard blocks of cheese inside. We noticed a slight raised voice altercation between the waitress and the line cooks. seems like people here are not really happy with their job and don't really get along well. Says a lot for management. The fish and chips were cooked great, the burger was tasty with a very soft bun, the shrimp was cooked very well. Just the mozzarella sticks were not cooked. Hello there I wanted to let everyone know that my family and I went to eat at this restaurant @ 7:30P.M. and they sat us down at 7:45P.M. They Waitress by the name of NICOLE took out drink order and it took her 30 to 40 minutes to bring our drinks to us and after that took 30 more minutes to take out order for the food, My daughter and her friend told the waitress what they wanted from the kids menu and she said that the menu was for 12 years and under. We has all explained to her that my daughter and her friend were 12 years and because they are tall kids the waitress judged them and assumed they were older. She really gave us the dirtiest looked you couldn't even imagen. She made all of us feel in a very uncomfortable situation. So my daughter and her friend ended up ordering from the Adult menu. My daughter had apologized to me and I told her that it wasn't her fault. after that she started to cry because of what happened and she told me not to make a big deal. we ended up getting served at almost 945 and getting home at almost 10. Don't come here on a holiday. This location is always severely understaffed. They'll seat you fast and make you wait. Took 15 minutes to order and then another 45 minutes to get our food. Waiter forgot to delay the delivery of the pancakes, forgot the lemon slices, and never refilled our hot water. Honestly I wonder why they are always understaffed - haven't they learned anything? Should not take 25 minutes to get lemon slices after three reminders. All in all, food is decent quality, affordable. But don't come here if it's busy or you are expecting good service. We both ordered the t-bone steak and eggs special for $9.99 that comes with two huge fluffy pancakes, perfect hash browns nice and golden/crispy and plenty of condiments. Coffee bottomless, hot, fresh and tasty. They are seating inside and out at this location with plenty of socially distanced tables spaced appropriately. Staff so friendly and nice here. I was in the area getting my truck serviced early in the morning so I decided to catch some breakfast here while I waited for my trucks service to be done. I walked into this place at about 8:15 and it was pretty empty for a Saturday morning. The service was great I got seated right away and the waiter took my order shortly after. By 9:30 more people had started to show up but it wasn't super packed how my local norms usually gets. Opened 24 hours! I prefer Norms over Denny's--They have more options and I think their food is much better than Denny's.. You get more bang for your bucks... Stopped by here after a night out since its around the corner from my house...Kinda reminds me of Vegas because they have steak and eggs special for a good price and it may come with toast and pancakes... and many of their dinner entrees come with soup and salad... yes both...I ordered the chicken parmesan and I was very satisfied...Even though the menu said it was served from 11am-11pm daily, they were able to make it for me at 2am... And it came with garlic cheese toast, a side salad and soup, which I got the gumbo and that was good too!! The portions are huge!!! I shared my meal and was able to take it home for breakfast/lunch the next day. The parm chicken was crunchy and the sauce was delicious! Good Stuff!! So last night, after a failed foodie experience at the international food fest in oc, we decided to go to Norms. I expressed that I had never been and everyone had come to rooting for me to like this place (bec so they themselves love it so much). We walked in round 9pm and were seated immediately. Our server was really casual, not overly accommodating but didn't ignore us either. I gleefully stared at their huge ass menu ! They offered tons of steak options! Everything looked appealing as orders were being ushered out of the kitchen so I was utterly confused as to what I wanted to fatten up my tummy with. Settled on the sirloin steak with sauteed mushrooms, a ceasar salad and whatever sides that came with. I asked for my steak med rare as I normally do. The ceasar was really good. The lettuce was crisp, dressing deliciously creamy and the perfect amount of croutons (excessive is how I like 'em). Was not a fan of their potato soup . It was basically really mushy-wet mashed potatoes. Very reminiscent of babyfood. Steak finally came and let me tell you, I was pleasantly surprised. The steak was tender, nice pink and juicy. The portion was smaller but not going to complain about that because its a fifth of the cost of its cousin from a higher end steakhouse. Special shoutout to their delectably cheesy crunchy cheesebread. I definitely prefer this place to Dennys, and I don't have to be drunk to crave it. read more

Like most of the reviews here, its true. If you want to be ignored, come here. The hostess or what ever she is straight up does not want to be here. Don't be in customer service if you have a B-face and are rude. Plain and simple. Walked in and legit just standing there and no one acknowledged me. The COOK had to tell the girl, that was literally 3 feet away from me , that I was there. Not sure who isn't aware of their surroundings, I can see people walking past me easily. Finally sat down, and another wait, just to get water and coffee. Then I have no silver wear, had to stir my coffee with my finger. Asked the lady for silver wear.. she seemed surprised. Call me crazy, but isn't that the bare minimum you need at the table? Still waiting to even place my order. I guess they have 1 cook, which is fine. But if you need to slow down the orders coming in, just be honest with people, don't ignore them because you are trying to slow down orders/tables coming in. Straight up go to Denny's off 17th and Tustin. I came here cuz I was across the street. But nothing sucks more than bad service. Should have been a hint to us but, we went forth to sit down. We waited about 20 min as servers just blatantly ignored us as they walked past us. There was a half chewed up fry and whatever else was regurgitated on the wall of the booth. I got up and left with not even one employee saying a word to us. Horrible!!! If you're in the area don't go to this location on E Katella Ave. drive a bit further to N Euclid St. In Anaheim where I'm currently sitting writing this review. Night and day difference. New York steak and eggs, medium rare with added onions & 'shrooms, loaded hash browns and sourdough toast is my go-to here...A great way to start any day! However, I just tried their club sandwich as I've see several patrons in the past enjoying this dish. I highly recommend to all sandwich lovers out there! I live that you can order a grilled jalapeño pepper (Chile toreado) with your meal to add some spicy yum as Tabasco and Tapatio just don't make the cut for me :) The service at this location is always on the button as the severs are attentive, friendly and very professional. WOW! I ordered a Porter House Steak and given a t-bone. Saddened by the Manager, when brought to her attention that it was the same tech that my partner had ordered she said porterhouse and t-bone are the same cut the only difference is the weight served at Norm's. I went out of my way to Google a photograph of t-bones and porterhouse steaks to educate her and show her the difference meanwhile they still charged me for a porterhouse although they sold a T-bone. read more

So I think I've only been to NORMS one other time and the experience was ok. This time around our waitress was great. Very great customer service and brought our food and drinks to us in a timely manner. She kept checking on us too, to make sure we had a very thing we needed. The food was pretty good too. I had the chicken tenders with BBQ sauce which was really flavorful. Need to come back to try the other items on the menu. read more
