Hubs had booked marked this place as a place to eat while driving through. Boy, were we ever glad we stopped!!!They are five stars from all angles!! 1. Because we were traveling with our dog hubs planned to send me and the kid inside to eat. But he went in and asked and they said to bring our dog in. They set up a table for us. 2. As if their hospitality wasn't amazing enough their food was top notch yum! We got smash burgers and oh, oh my! Layers of patty, cheese, pickles, onions and lettuce oh my!! Can you tell, I seriously enjoyed the food! 3. After a hearty meal of burgers and fries we had to try the Indian Bread with cinnamon on it, which me being from Michigan sounded like an elephant ear. Whatever it was it was amazeballs! And it was gone in seconds with the 3 of us eating it. 4. As if all of this wasn't good enough our dog got a lot of love and we ordered her two patties! We almost went to a newer looking place, but I saw this restaurant while we were driving past and knew the reviews were stellar. First of all, the staff is SO kind!!! I understand completely why they have nearly a perfect rating! They have regular burgers, fries, rings... BUT, they have indian fry bread and tacos. Indian fry bread is like naan bread, and it is made here. It is delicious! I have a service dog, but they are FRIENDLY TO ALL DOGS and even have a DOG MENU!!! Really was inviting, lots of options on the menu and you can get a regular style burger and also smash burger. Liked that option. How can the reviews for this place be so high? In short, great food, great service and a touch of something that seems all but lost these days, hospitality. We rolled into NFK on a stormy night and were welcomed by the staff as if they'd been waiting for us to arrive. We got a mix of dishes, all delicious, and an order of the fry bread. About halfway through our meal the owner came out and brought us some cinnamon fry bread on the house. It was warm and tasty, the perfect end to a wet day in the Redwoods. While Crescent City may not have the charm of Carmel or Point Reyes, Norris Family Kitchen adds a healthy dose of class and warmth to the Northern end of our beautiful state. We had breakfast and dinner today. Breakfast - we had pancakes, eggs with bacon and toast and burritos. Pancakes were fluffy and good! Kids liked the burritos - it was a good size so filled them up. Eggs, bacon and toast were good. Good size pieces of bacon and cooked perfectly! I would give breakfast a 5/5 although they need to get a better coffee or make it a bit stronger. Dinner - we had bbq wings, potato soup, western burger, Philly OG and popper burger. The wings were fried - personal preference is grilled wings that don't have all the batter. The potato soup - wow that was yummy! We all loved. The western burger was good, but the popper burger was unique and so so yummy! Would give dinner 4/5. Bathrooms could be more clean. I was on a NorCal roadtrip when I came across this lovely place. My boyfriend and I had gotten good poisoning days previous and hadn't eaten in a couple days. We found this place, decided to try it, and I'm so happy we did because the people who work here are so kind!! My boyfriend wasn't gonna eat because they didn't have soup and that was all he felt like he could eat. Mrs. Norris heard that we were sick and said, "give me 10 minutes and I can make him a chicken noodle soup." I got the Indian friend bread with chili. Mrs. Norris brought out our food on a tray with tea and said she was giving us the Momma Norris sickness recovery treatment. I about cried at the kindness. Went in for breakfast on a quiet Tuesday morning. The atmosphere is very classic water-side diner and while it was clearly a long-standing building it was well maintained. The portion sizes are very worth their price and both employees I interacted with said what seems to be the restaurant's mantra "We don't want anyone going hungry". You gotta love a restaurant with a small-town, committed to the community vibe. The only improvement I would suggest is the coffee was a little weak and flavorless; everything else was delicious. On day one of our Redwoods adventure, we stopped at Norris Family kitchen for lunch and we couldn't have picked a better spot! We were greeted warmly as we entered and then they walked us through the menu which includes smash burgers, cheesesteaks and Indian fry bread along with some sides and dessert. We ordered the regular smash burger and OG Philly! The food was brought out in a few minutes. It looked extremely well made and fresh. You can tell they use fresh oil. The onions rings and skinny fries were perfect. The Smash burger was huge and perfectly crispy. As we munched on our food, the lovely couple that owns the place brought us cinnamon fry bread AND a slice of chocolate cake. She said she was going to bring us cake and he already made us the fry bread so we are getting both! Since we are new, we asked for recommendations of places to go in the area. He asked his wife and she wrote us a note detailing the areas highlights! From the food, service to the vibes this place is one of the best dining experiences I have had. This was our favorite food stop out of the 3 days we were in the area for our road trip. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and the prices were great considering the quality ,amount of food received, and cost at similar restaurants. The food came out quickly and was hot as well. My husband loved the quesadilla so much that we came back a second time to order it again before we left.
