Dr. G agreed to extract…read moreall four of my wisdom teeth for which he said he was supposed to sedate me but when I got there he was totally unable to even get an IV into me properly so he just decided to do it anyway with absolutely NO SEDATION period. I had never had my teeth pulled before so I had no idea how horrid of a choice that was on his part. So he was only able to pull one of the teeth and then he got to the second bottom right wisdom tooth and couldn't pull it out normally at which point HE SHOULD HAVE ENDED THE PROCEDURE, but instead he decided to start cutting into my bottom right wisdom tooth while I'm still totally 100% awake and he is using nothing but local anesthesia, long story short it took him 3.5 hours to extract 2 wisdom teeth total! It took me multiple weeks and a ton of pain and PTSD related symptoms from being put through such a horrendous experience. The so called 'medical assistants' that he has working for him could not or would not pay attention and do their jobs well enough to keep all the blood from running down my throat and onto the front of my shirt, my husband was HORRIFIED when he saw the state I was in after they were done hacking at my mouth for 3.5 hours regardless of how many times I begged them to please stop yet he refused to do so. I am writing this review so that potential patients know the risk they will be taking if they choose to use this dental practice in any capacity. I can only speak to my personally terrifying experience and God only knows I WISH I were making this up bc it really should never have happened to me and I hope it never happens to anyone else. Based on Yelp reviews, I tried Lipson Dental for a second opinion after a $10,000+ estimate from Buckhead's Best. Their communication and technology are first class. Dr. Kapur gave explanations and discussed options without pressure. Bottom line: Needed work is done with more durable options at half the cost. Plus excellent staff and pain management. Now, I have a health care Partner, not a Pusher.

Today's visit, however, was bittersweet. I came in expecting to see my longtime hygienist, Kelly, only to learn she is no longer with the practice. While the new hygienist was pleasant and professional, I truly missed seeing Kelly. She's been a part of our dental care journey for years, and that kind of connection is rare. In my opinion, businesses should do everything they can to retain the people who help make them great--whether through better compensation, flexibility, or simply recognition. That first appointment would have been next week she said healing process is 3wks-month. Then I can schedule the bottom one. So basically it would have took over a month to even deal with the tooth that's causing pain. This doesn't make any sense also I wasn't even prescribed any pain medicine so I would have had to deal with my pain on my own. As they simply are too busy to schedule patients for months at a time, I highly recommend that they no longer accept new patients until their staffing is improved. Gentleman and daughter were waiting, then there was me, then another lady came in. No one was at reception desk. When lady came out around 7:57 a.m. to finally sign into compute, another lady walked in and right up to receptionist and they started talking, even though all of us had been there since probably at least 7:40 (me 7:45). Please note that when she was signing in to her compute, she never said good morning to anyone or even look up to acknowledge we were there and had been there waiting. That would have made a difference. I had already filled out my paperwork online. I told her I was not going to fill it out again since I thought that was the purpose of doing it that way. She asked did I print it out. I said, no, there was nothing that said to print it out and no one from your office said to do so. She said, we don't tell people to print it out. I said, you probably should do so. After she handed me my driver's license, she once again asked was I going to fill the paperwork out, I said no because I had another appointment to go to after this and didn't have time. I told her I did not want to reschedule and asked for the copy of my driver's license. She said, I'll just shred it then. I said, that's fine, and I'll be sure to leave a review. The answer that I got from Georgia Smiles was that they were in network and that the only thing I have to pay was a deductible of $50 that applies to the cleaning service. I agreed and made the appointment. At the time of my appointment I paid the $ 50 deductible, nobody asked me to agree to any other charges. To my surprise I got a bill for an additional $376.74. We made a three way call with my insurance and Gordana, the office manager, and we found out the person who called the insurance company understood wrong, as I was not fully covered. If the clerk of Georgia Smiles did not make this mistake and informed me this, I would have gone elsewhere, but they made a mistake and then threatened to send me to collection for their mistake, risking my credit. The insurance agent informed Gordana of Georgia Smiles that they could file an appeal to the insurance company for this issue. After days of continual follow-up, Gordana refused to send me a receipt of what I signed the day I came in, any updates and refused to file an appeal, only to send me to collection. I have the whole email chain and will include pictures. I had the choice of ruining my credit, or paying an additional $376 dollars. Beware of Gordana and Georgia smiles!!
