Finally got to visit the Brea North Italia, gorgeous and spacious. I will say, I went on an incredibly hot and humid day, and since they have an open patio area that is connected to their bar, the restaurant technically is open to all of the outside climate so it was HOT. Our server was great (so sorry i didn't catch his name), he was very friendly and knowledgeable, as he mentioned he relocated from 2 different locations. As it got way busier through the night, we hardly saw him after our food got brought out, but he was workin those tables and hustling, shout out to you!! Our steak came out perfectly medium rare & my shrimp scampi was outstanding, I literally sopped up all of the sauce in the madein pan with the grilled bread they serve with this dish. Now if they ever make a shrimp scampi entree, I'll seriously be coming every single day lol! Their house bolognese and shrimp scampi app never miss. Parking is a bit of a circus now due to the closeby structure being swamped with the new gym goers.

    Omg, Brea's new outdoor mall is SO cute! I'm so happy to see all the new upgrades, the whole mall is seriously poppin'! I hadn't been in a while, so I was pleasantly surprised by how much has changed. My friend recommended North Italia, so we decided to stop in for some dinner & drinks. The restaurant itself is beautiful! I loved all the decor, lighting, cute paintings / quotes, & all the little details throughout. I also loved the open-concept layout where you can actually see the chefs cooking through the glass window. This place is such a vibe & would be perfect for a date night or girls' night! We decided to sit at the bar, so there was no wait so we just walked right up! The girls serving us were the sweetest, super personable, & really helpful when it came to guiding me through the menu / their favorites! Which I always appreciate. For drinks, my friend got a glass of wine & I ordered the Hugo Spritz, which was actually recommended by our server. I was originally going to get an Aperol Spritz, but she sold me on the Hugo when she mentioned it had elderflower & was on the sweeter side. & I'm SO glad she did because it was absolutely divine! Definitely the right choice for me. For food, my friend went with the pesto pasta & I got the Spicy Rigatoni Vodka. My friend loved her pasta & completely devoured it! Haha I absolutely loved mine too! So much flavor, perfectly cooked noodles, & the sausage was SO yummy with just the right hint of spice. I even had leftovers for lunch the next day & it was still just as good! Overall, we had such a wonderful experience & I can't wait to come back! I will be dreaming of that Hugo Spritz until then (;

The restaurant is beautiful both inside and outside. Walked in a weekday for lunch and was sat within 10 minutes. Immediately was greeted by our server for drinks. He was really fast! Didn't catch his name but he was good the whole time dining in. I ordered the Cacio E Pepe pizza. The size of the pizza can be shareable with 1 other person. I wish my pizza had more cheese though since some of the pizza mostly tasted like the crust. Not bad but I would probably get a different pizza that has more toppings to see how that would be. Also tried the Chicken Parmesan Sandwich which was okay. The size of the chicken was pretty small and again it seemed like we were eating more of the bread than protein. Overall everything was excellent. My downside of it was the food in how it's proportioned especially in a pricier and nicer restaurant

North Italia Brea Food was absolutely delicious! Love, love, LOVE the fig & prosciutto pizza and the kale & goat cheese salad. And that butter cake with banana caramel?! SO yummy! But to top it all off, our server Kevin was ZEEE BEST! Amazing service, great food, and such a good dining experience. Definitely coming back!

Review 79/365 Day Challenge. Came here on a Monday for Happy Hour around 5:30 p.m. Was meeting w 2 of my other childhood friend. It's my 1st time @ North Italia. My Friend wanted to take mee here to celebrate my bday month. Right when I walked in, was helped within 2nd's. The hostess ask how many people and if it was ok to dine out in the Patio, told her that's actually perfect, wanting outdoor seating as long as we may get the high bar table seatings. I was approached by our server for the evening, Jacob. Really friendly informative young guy. Told him my girlfriends should be here in the next 10 mins. They are currently almost here. *Jacob helps us for the entire visit here and he definitely made our evening really enjoyable. He kept checking in on us, seeing if we needed refills and if we needed anything more. Really like his attentiveness and awareness. 5 stars service indeed. What we ordered ~ Got the Happy Hour Bottle & Board $ 45 ~ Smoked Salmon Avocado toast is really good. Loved the smoked Salmon, topped w arugula on top of the toast. They offer complimentary Birthday dessert of your choice for the Bday Guest/Celebrant. The restaurant is really clean, modern, high ceiling with an open welcoming vibe. The restaurant was pretty busy during my visit but it didn't feel over crowded at all. The citrus tree art and wall decor with nice portraits was a nice touch to the ambiance. They have parking out front of the restaurant but a bit hard to get. Plenty of parking in the parking structure in front of Nordstroms.

    Calamari Fritti
    Shawn M.

Really enjoyed this place. We got the calamari fritti to start, the Bolognese with meat sauce, and the Parmesan chicken sandwich. Everything was really good. The calamari was crispy without being overcooked, the Bolognese had a really good, rich meat sauce, and the chicken sandwich was probably one of the better ones I've had. The service was also great. Everyone was really friendly and actually knew the menu, which I always appreciate when you're trying to figure out what to order. The restaurant itself was very clean and had a nice, lively atmosphere without feeling too crazy or crowded. Overall, really good food, great service, and a nice place to sit down and have a meal. I'd definitely come back again.

I was pleasantly surprised when I heard that North Italia was coming to the Brea Mall. The food and the service I would say was comparable to the location in Irvine, the overall restaurant itself is a bit smaller, however, I think that they have a better patio layout than the one in Irvine. It's located in the new wing of the Brea mall that has the outdoor area where folks can hang out and just relax, and they do have valet parking, which I think is a huge plus given how difficult the parking is. I will note that Din Tai Fung is also in this area and it has yet to open but once it does, I just know that the traffic is gonna become insane. Overall, a great addition to the Brea, fullerton, Yorba Linda area and it's nice to see that people are enjoying it. I visited on a Friday evening, the place was packed, and many of the folks dining were dressed up as opposed to in casual wear.

First time dining at North Italia at Brea Mall! Visited on a busy Sunday and had about a 20min wait after joining the waitlist. Parking in the structure was a nightmare, so I recommend parking outside near Dick's Sporting Goods/Macy's and walking through the mall instead. Overall, we had a great experience! Our server was super helpful and walked us through some of the best dishes and drinks. When we mentioned that we'd be sharing everything, we were pleasantly surprised when the kitchen actually prepared separate plates for each of us. Most restaurants will just provide extra sharing plates, so I thought this was such a nice touch and great customer service! What we enjoyed: Trottole Chicken Pesto White Truffle Garlic Bread Little Gem Caesar: fresh and a nice balance alongside the pasta Drinks: Just Peachy -- peach ginger beer lemonade, refreshing and not overly sweet Faux Me Twice -- N/A Sauvignon Blanc with strawberry & pineapple; fruity and easy to drink Definitely a great spot for special occasions or a date, and I'd come back to try more of the menu!

    Strozzapreti and spicy rigatoni vodka
    Peter D.

Yum! Nice place for italian cuisine. The white truffle garlic bread was very good. It wasnt too salty but was still very flavorful and yummy. It's a nice way to mop up any leftover sauce from your pasta dish haha. The bread was soft and fluffy, and the buttery garlic flavor was just right. The strozzapreti pasta was good! Even though it's a white sauce pasta, it wasnt too heavy. I think the flavors in this one were good. The spicy rigatoni vodka pasta was very good as well. It had just a small amount of heat that cut through the heavier flavors from the italian sausage in this dish. Overall was just a good dish. The mussels were okay. Some of mine were a little sandy, which was not the most fun experience. But I did love the wine sauce that came with it though. Dipping the bread in that buttery sauce was nice. The ciao bella cocktail had some sweetness to it and was more of a cute drink. i almost wish i got it on the rocks though. I loved the sole toscano cocktail as well, very refreshing. I feel like this place has a more casual ambiance to it. It definitely is a nice place to go to for some nice italian cuisine. Our server was very nice to us! Also was very attentive, which i appreciated a lot. Really elevated our dining experience.

Service was very good. Food was excellent! We made a reservation and it was easy to be seated.

Applewood Bacon - crispy but tiny
    Vivian L.

Knowing the walk in wait time at their Irvine location, we made a reservation through OpenTable app to avoid longggg wait time. We arrived on scheduled time, however, we weren't seated until 15 mins later on a hot summer day. Our server took a while to come to take our order. After that, it was another 30 mins wait until we get our food. Many people who were seated after us get their orders before us... I get Sunday brunch may be busy for a restaurant but what's the point of making a reservation if everything is going to be pushed back anyways? Bacon was way too salty, but carbonara was lacking some salt. Breakfast pizza was probably the best among those but the egg was not very picture worthy. They can do better.

Would I come back? HECK YEA. OVERALL: ‣ 9/10 food, 10/10 service & ambiance ‣ Definitely trust the waiters/waitresses recommendations -- shoutout to Miranda & Warren Here's What I Got: Zucca Chips: ‣ [9/10] ‣ Zucchini chips ‣ Nice, light & airy. I thought they were going to be a bit crunchier but they're still really good Calamari Fritti: ‣ [10/10] ‣ House giardiniera, sugo, calabrian aioli, grilled lemon ‣ Exterior was light/airy & crispy ‣ Grilled lemon was the cherry on top! Spicy Rigatoni Vodka: ‣ [9/10] ‣ Italian sausage, crispy pancetta, shaved garlic, torn basil, grana padano ‣ Good amount, not overbearing, decent spice ‣ Paired w/Sauvignon Blanc (I forgot which one ;-;). It made the pasta 'spicier' Bolognese (House Specialty): ‣ [9/10] ‣ Traditional meat sauce, pappardelle, grana padano, wild oregano ‣ Simply a classic!! Pasta was perfectly al dente ‣ Paired w/Pinot Noir, Bottega Vinaia, Trentino. CHEFS KISSSSS. Banana Coffee Cake: ‣ [8/10] ‣ Dark rum butterscotch, caramelized banana, crème fraîche ‣ The caramelized bananas were SO GOOD & a really good size. This would be a 9.5/10 with vanilla ice cream. ATMOSPHERE: ‣ Good for parties of all sizes -- reservations accepted! ‣ Chair, booth, bar seating available ‣ Very cozy wood interior with foliage ‣ There wasn't a clear main welcoming area -- cramped & blended in with the restaurant PARKING: ‣ FREE parking, $12 Valet parking available ‣ Parking structures available STAFF: ‣ Miranda was a GREAT help with her recommendations and pairings. She was so kind & I'm so appreciate! Thank you Warren as well! IG & TikTok: @keilanieats

There are a few vegetarian options. Very peaceful breakfast atmosphere. Not a lot of customers. Very chatty and lively at the same. Two tv at the bar playing random news. Giant coffee machines. I like the exposed ceiling. Everything feels clean. I did see someone wipe their nose as they were refilling the ice and that was gross. The owner said he will addressed the issue with that person. We got coffee, portobello eggs Benedict with sourdough instead of English muffin and hash browns, and chiliquiles with carnitas on the side, hot salsa, and over easy eggs. Pretty presentations. The food was really yummy. I love the fluffy sourdough. Well seasoned. Massive portion sizes. Took half home.

They tried to charge me $1.50 for a cup of hot water after I spent almost $100 dollars. Read all the negative comments first, and then you'll know what I mean. This place will verbally fight you to the bone, not the employees but the owners themselves husband and wife. If you complain about as little as something like why was I charged for a hot cup of water or anything, the owner will verbally argue with you over it. Let me tell you, my experience and my daughter's experience with this restaurant, we left there traumatized. Why? Because we politely asked why we were charged for a hot cup of water. First, the wife came to our table with a bad attitude, talked to us about the charges, and then the husband came over to our table with the same attitude and that's when everything went bad. "I let my daughter handle the defense using logic with them and she did a good job." She explained well and clearly to them but on the other hand, the owner's husband and wife would not stop arguing with us.  My daughter and I were so embarrassed by the way they acted in front of their other cutomers that were looking and listening to their argument about us. They don't have any shame whatsoever! The argument didn't go anywhere bc these owners' husband and wife will not back down, or stop arguing. They will keep going until we are completely drained. They even told us not to come back. "Duh", who would come back to that place? So we paid, they took out the charge $1.50 for the hot cup of water, and guess what, we even gave them a decent tip despite what happened - that's our donation for their anger management therapy. "So, there you have it, folks" That's our experience with Our Nest restaurant and the horrible owner's husband and wife. Btw, my comment for the food is two words VERY SALTY!   Good luck goers, if you see this restaurant out of the blue, just pretend you didn't see anything.

We finished off with the butter cake. I'm not normally a cake guy, but that butter cake is something else. The caramelized layer at the top adds a nice crunch, while the cake itself has great flavor and texture. The service was great too! I really enjoyed the entire meal and have nothing bad to say. I looked online for a dress code but didn't see an official policy on their website. Most folks were dressed up, but I saw some more casual outfits too so I wouldn't stress too much about it. Here is what we ordered: - Bread: Fist basket is complimentary and any additional refills are $8 per basket. One is more than enough for two people. They had an assortment of three different breads and all were tasty. - Jidori Chicken Schnitzel: This is a thinly sliced, breaded, chicken breast topped with capers and served with a charred half lemon and a lemon/butter sauce on the side. It was juicy and the breading added a nice crunch. Amazing flavor and I would order this again. - Center Cut Ribeye (Medium Rare): The steak was served with some roasted garlic and rosemary and was cooked perfectly. - Potatoes Au Gratin: The flavor for the potatoes au gratin was there, but I wish the potatoes were sliced more thinly. They were too chunky and I felt some bits needed to be cooked a little longer. - Brussels Sprouts: This is THEE side to order. The bacon steak is an add on for $10. Pricey, but necessary. They were so good and we couldn't get enough. - Butter Cake: If you know about Maestro's famous butter cake, then this is strong competition if not on par with Maestro's. Absolutely delicious and paired very nicely with their cappuccino. Service was 10/10 as well.

Our order consisted of - Bruschetta - Pear and Prosciutto Flatbread - Bacon and Brie Burger Everything was tasty. The bruschetta had amazing flavor and the Pear and Prosciutto flatbread was unique in all of the best ways. To be honest, the Bacon and Brie burger was also really good. I love Brie, so putting it on a burger was heavenly. The only thing that left a bad impression was my napkin; it smelled of the stench of wet dog. The whole napkin and every inch of it. I noticed immediately wiping my mouth with it! I thought I may be crazy, but my husband gave it a sniff all around and agreed. It smelled awful and made me question the cleanliness of the spot. Macallans Public House would definitely be a revisit for my husband so I would likely revisit with him if he really wanted to stop by in the future.

Came here on a Sunday to meet up with an old friend. Forgot to take photos of my drinks and food…read morecause I was too busy having a good time. Drink: The Viking. I could drink 20 of these cause they were so good. Food: Fish tacos. I also could have eaten 20 of these. Bomb. Friendly staff, clean bar, clean bathrooms. Definitely coming back!
