    I recently purchased an open-box Dell 15.6" Touchscreen Laptop from the Best Buy website listed at…read more$284.99 in "Good" condition. The listing clearly stated it was sold by Best Buy and available at the Fox Point, WI store location. The same laptop retails for around $600 new. Before purchasing, I went to the store to inspect the laptop in person. It appeared to be in excellent condition and worked properly. However, when I attempted to purchase it in-store, it rang up at $485. Employees and the store manager refused to honor the website price, despite the SKU number matching exactly and the listing not stating "online only." I was incorrectly told it was sold by a third-party seller, which was false. I was then forced to purchase the laptop online while standing in the store. Just minutes later, I received confirmation that the laptop was ready for pickup -- the exact same laptop already sitting in the store. Later, when I returned to pick it up, an employee offered an additional $20 discount for the inconvenience if I returned and repurchased the laptop. After returning it, the store again could not sell it back to me at the correct price and told me I had to wait over 2.5 hours for it to be released back into inventory so I could repurchase it online again. During this entire process, I was repeatedly pressured to buy more expensive laptops with fewer features. I was also told I could only receive the additional $20 discount by applying for a Best Buy credit card. The employee began entering my information for a credit application without clearly explaining that my credit would be run. I find this extremely dishonest and unacceptable. In the end, I eventually repurchased the laptop online for the original $284.99 price, but the entire experience was frustrating, misleading, and handled very poorly from start to finish.

    I recently purchased for delivery later this month a set of kitchen and laundry room appliances…read more My Salesman Jeff F. did a fine job in discussing and finding me in stock products for a delivery, in a very late moment sort of, on the fly appliance purchase. I was pleased to know also that Kettle Moraine Appliance had in store repairmen, also, for future use. Jeff did a fine job. Period. He has a very fine, extensive product knowledge base, and answered a lot of my appliance questions and concerns. He listened and I was not preached to, unlike too many Big Box Store clerks. I especially appreciated direct and accurate answers to my qualms of having to have a ventless clothes dryer. I have a quirky new kitchen set up where a built in alcove could take traditional stacked laundry units, but not an available exhaust pipe. So, a new style, all in one front opening single unit washer/electric ventless dryer was the solution. Jeff was a great and to the point "explainer" that the concept is sound and actually very common now a days. So, as a non - Digitally Gifted sort of fellow, I appreciated that .     We purchased a wall oven and were told it would be at their store within a week. I called after the…read moreweek and was told "we are short staffed" and that I should leave a message for my salesman. So I did. No call back so after another few days I called again and was told the same thing. Not until I basically demanded to speak to a manager did the receptionist respond appropriately and make it an appropriately handled discussion. I was then told by a manager when it would arrive. I called that day and they said it had arrived the day before. Then finally the salesman called after I already found out. The Installation crew was great thankfully. A week later I called to request a service guy to take a look at the door as it doesn't close right. The guy told me their service people weren't in that day and that I should call their West Bend store. Again, the customer is expected to do the store's job. I would not recommend them. If I can't find a better store next time I need an appliance I will order it online and deal with the installation on my own. They provided no added value. BTW my oven was $4000 so one would expect at least average customer service.

    The Grafton Home Depot is a great store with helpful staff, great stock, and amazing community…read moreevents. Today, they are cosponsors with my veteran group for a family holiday event -- Menorah building! There were children and families everywhere and fun was had by all! The Rabbi was running around giving out blessings, the Commander was passing out cookies, the veterans were snapping pictures, the Home Depot crew was handing out kits, the kids and families were banging hammers and laughing, and my poor service dog was trying to make sure I didn't pass out! It was a very successful event. Lots of kids. Lots of family. Lots of hammering and sharing. Good family fun. Thanks to community partners and old fashioned holiday spirit! For those who don't know the story of Hanukkah it is a story of miracles. In the true spirit of the story, miracles occurred today. Every time we thought we ran out of kits, a small stash would appear. And until the very end, every child was hammering and happily creating a Menorah. Children were able to even take the kits that were being tossed aside by children who wanted perfection (so they'd start over or abandon a less than perfect attempt). In the end, every child walked out smiling with a creation that they were happy to have. It was a sight to see! Nobody felt as if they didn't get what they came to get. Everyone was cooperating and taking what was available and creating a holiday miracle. I felt very happy to be a part of this day.
