I saw the 5 star rating and believed I was going to get great service. well my car was there over a month. that is not the reason for one star. they leave my car unlocked and items were stolen. instead of replacing the items I was told that they are not responsible for items left in the car. I would not have a problem if they actually broke into the car but since they left my car unlocked I believe they are responsible. I was told it was unlocked because they could not get the doors to lock. that is crazy because the car has a metal key to manually lock and unlock the doors if there is no power to the car. Brian, the kind man who will likely greet you when you arrive, couldn't be nicer or more helpful. But you're thinking, "Nice is fine, but can I trust my car and my wallet to them?" Simple answer...YES! 18 months ago, I was in with my 2001 INFINITY i30, I needed all of my coils repaired. I got an estimate from Brian, (who reminded me to print out their $50 off coupon and bring it with me to save some $), and then I called around for comparison prices. NORTHEAST WAS HALF THE PRICE, plus the extra $50 off! My car has run perfectly since they repaired it... Last week I was in needing a new alternator. NORTHEAST'S estimate was $400 (minus $50 with the coupon), and DREYER & REINBOLDT INFINITY gave me an estimate of $700-800!! Plus, the Infinity dealer doesn't guarantee non-OEM parts. NORTHEAST GIVES LIFETIME GUARANTEE ON ALL THE PARTS IT USES!! I went to Brian, got a new alternator, gave him my coupon...which HE reminded me to use...and it was $350. I saved $550 over the INFINITY DEALER'S PRICE!! ...and the folks at NORTHEAST are warm, kind and thoughtful. So you can't get a bad fake espresso while you wait. and the waiting room isn't as shiny as the one at D&R. but personally, I'd rather have $550 in my pocket and just drink bottled water. how about you? read more

My daughter's car was pumping out all of its brake fluid and was unsafe to drive. Called on a Saturday morning for an alternator replacement. They were able to get me in immediately. Replacement took about an hour. Awesome service, friendly guys, and at a good price point. The feel of the place is one of a mechanic, not fancy or anything, but you can tell when you walk in that these guys care about the work, not putting up a pretty facade like some of the major chains. I have a bit of a story here, but its a good one so stick with me. I took my car for an oil change about three weeks ago at a Midas that was close to me. I don't get major car work done there but don't mind getting something standard like an oil change. When I picked up my car, they told me my tie rods were bad and that they needed to be replaced for safety reasons. Being that my car is older, I immediately started weighing out the need to potentially buy a new car. After some consideration and recommendations from friends, I decided to try Northeast Auto Service to repair my car as they quoted me half the price and I trusted their reputation. I am happy to say I was not let down. A couple of hours after I dropped my car off, Keith called me and told me my tie rods did NOT need to be replaced and that I did not need other services I was told I needed. I came in expecting to pay $500-$600 and walked away paying $27 because of their honesty and integrity. I am so glad I followed my friends recommendation and checked before dropping money somewhere else or even on a newer car. Brian was also excellent and a pleasure to work with. These are great guys. I brought my Dodge Grand Caravan in because the AC in the back was broken. The guys "fixed" it with a part that they bought. Well it turns out that the part was busted and that that the AC was not really fixed. I had no problem bring the car back and they re-fixed the AC using a good part very quickly. To top it off the were easily 20% less what other National chains estimated the cost would be. I have two very old cars with alot of miles on them and I plan on using Northeast Auto Service every time. read more

Northeast auto called me back about an hour that I took it there to tell me that they did not see any evidence that I needed that repair. They could have easily just changed the part and took my money, but instead they were very honest. read more

While I would still recommend them, my Mazda had an issue with the alternator and I had to get it replaced. Unfortunately, the alternator they put in worked for a few miles and then I had to bring it back and have it replaced again. And... then that one as well had to be replaced (they had not checked it before sending it back with me, which I wasn't ok with). So, three alternators later (warranty covered the other two as it was not my fault), I decided to trade in my car for something more reliable. I think they should have checked the connections to see if there was a short in my car that could have been burning out the alternators, or to use a different company to purchase a new one. That was a total bummer. So, I would not recommend getting an alternator from them, (unless my Mazda just had some weird short), but over all, really nice men with great work ethic who are not trying to gouge you for money. read more

I am a little disappointed with this business. I told them I had only the one vehicle,that I work during the week and would bring in first thing on Saturday, the only time I had available. I went for a 2.5 hour walk and when I got back was told that the work had not even been started. I would have appreciated a phone call to let me know this. I couldn't wait another 3 hours for them to complete the work as I had an appointment at 1:00 pm. I can't speak to the quality of their work, because it was not completed, but I was upset at the waste of time. If I had received a phone call to tell me that there was a delay, I would have understood, and could have rescheduled to the next week and used the time for other errands. read more

This place is the best! After being told at a different shop that I needed $1000 worth of "urgent" repairs, I contacted NE Auto. They gave me a quote for $350 for the same repairs. When I brought my car in, they had already ordered the parts and were waiting for me because I was on a time crunch. Turns out, I didn't even have anything wrong with my car. I paid a small diagnostic fee, but that was only at my insistence. I'll definitely be back here! read more

I am shocked that anyone would leave this place a good review and should have paid attention to the last bad review. I am disgusted with this place and solely on YELP to leave this review. Because of the good reviews we decided to check this place out. Made an appointment and dropped the car off at 8 am one day last week to check on a car heater that wasn't working. By 5 pm after US CALLING THEM 3 TIMES did they decide to inform us that they still hadn't looked at the car because they were too busy. They then told us that our car was the next one up and they would take a look and call back before they closed. Did they call back? Nope. We called again the next morning to find out what was going on. Finally around 11 am my husband talked to Brian who said he could get the part in 4 to 5 days. We picked up the car and decided to wait to hear from him. It is now a week later and we have still have not heard from Brian. My husband is now driving around in a car without working heat in 20 degree temperatures. We will be going somewhere else to get our cars fixed and urge you to do the same. read more

My vehicle suddenly started misfiring on the way to drop my child off at school. My boyfriend changed the plugs and wires immediately and it was still misfiring. We dropped the vehicle off the same day. When we dropped it off the only issue was the misfiring. The mechanic claimed one of the brand new plugs was bad and he replaced it along with the coil pack. I went to pick my vehicle up. I paid and got in my car and it was still misfiring. The mechanic that worked on my vehicle was outside so I told him it was still misfiring. He said well it's better than it was. Right away I was furious. I brought my car in and paid for it to be fixed not to be better than it was. I then talked to Brian and he drove it. He came back and agreed that it was still misfiring. I left my vehicle there to get fixed. They couldn't figure out why it was misfiring so I went to pick it up. When I got there they claimed there was gas on the plugs, but when my boyfriend changed them that morning there was no gas on the ones he took out. On my way home my car overheated. I drove the same distance to drop it off and it never got past the halfway mark. Magically most of my coolant was gone. Filled it back up with coolant and it never leaked. We take very good care of our vehicle and would never let our fluids get that low. The mechanic was clearly upset that I didn't accept the work he did and he wasn't getting paid. He got his revenge by sabotaging my vehicle. read more
