I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Tosca Kia White Plains was unacceptable from start to finish. I brought in my 2024 Kia Sportage after my seven-year-old daughter pulled on the rear passenger door handle and it snapped off. Given the age of the vehicle and the minimal force involved, it was clearly a faulty part and something I reasonably expected to be covered under warranty. Instead, I was denied service, told there would be a three-hour wait, and then quoted close to $500 for the repair -- all without any meaningful inspection or willingness to help. The attitude alone was enough to make the situation worse. Things escalated to the point where my father, Michael Coughlin, Owner and CEO of Coughlin Insurance, had to get on the phone with the service manager. Unfortunately, the interaction was met with extreme rudeness and dismissiveness. Only after that call were we told they would submit a claim to Kia corporate and call us back by the following Wednesday. They never did. My father followed up again and spoke with another employee who said he would look into it and call us back. Once again, no follow-up at all. At this point, we fixed the issue ourselves. This was never about the money -- it was about principle, accountability, and being treated with basic respect as a customer. As someone who also works in a client-facing role at Coughlin Insurance, I was genuinely shocked by how poorly this situation was handled. To make matters worse, my sales representative promised two complimentary services at the time of purchase. I never received even one. Between the poor service, lack of communication, broken promises, and unprofessional behavior, this dealership has completely lost my trust. Buyer beware: I had a terrible experience with this car dealer, a long process. Their practices are questionable, predatorily and dishonest, I hope no one goes through what I went through. I made an appointment to see one car, the pictures on their website did not display the full damage on the back and side drivers side. I showed the pics to the sales person that the pics didn't have the damage on their website, she was clueless and said it can fix that. After back and forth negotiating, they had promised to put in a clip for a discounted price. Then I received a call that they weren't able to do that and the whole bumper would have to be replaced. There the price went down $500 and they offered a free precert. I asked for an itemize invoice. The invoice had a $950 BS charge. When I questioned the charge they told me it's to fix the damages. Although we had agreed that the repair was included in the out the door price. Eventually It was a nonsense deal, they offered to show me another newer car. Which was going great, they were honoring the previous pre-cert deal for 'free'. Of course they almost did a bait and switch, telling me that the price of the car they gave me was a mistake done by the sales team. Saying that the selling price they given me of 17,900 was actually 18 with change. I had almost left before they quickly "fixed" it. After it was all settled. I signed documents to start the process, did what I needed to do.I told the sales person what I was quoted through my credit union and gave them the opportunity to either match it or go lower. I was very clear on what I wanted in my loan and the monthly payments I wanted. Their financial manager, Dennis, spoke to me, he was a complete asshole and refused to try to work with me. Even going to the extent of ignoring the three voicemails I left. At this point I'm at work dealing with patients. It's the middle of the day and suddenly they're telling me they would honor my payment plans. However by the time I would get out my bank would be closed. I asked if I could come the next day to buy the car. This happened on July 31, I was pushed to come and buy the car that day. I was going to buy the car yet they were adamant on getting the sale. The salesperson inundated me with messages, insisting that if I didn't complete the sale that evening, the price would increase. I was taken aback by the lack of integrity in their approach. Despite my repeated texts explaining that I could not finalize the sale that night but would be able to do so in the morning with my bank check, she continued to pressure me to give her my credit cards to secure a down payment. Even asked for the binder and insurance cards without an explanation. There was no communication for the next few days, no check in. I had to tell her I was no longer interested. The next day I saw the same car I looked at priced at 19,999. The place is shitty. Stay away from here and the Kia in Yonkers. In stark contrast, my visit to Kia of Stamford was a refreshing change. The entire process was marked by transparency, and the loan manager took the time to understand my needs, ensuring I felt comfortable throughout. I appreciated their willingness to make a profit while also providing me with a fair deal. I highly recommend visiting Steven at Kia of Stamford for an exceptional car-buying experience. WORST CAR DEALERSHIP EVER. RUBEN ROSALES: total sack of shit. RUBEN LIED to me that a car was on his lot and available for purchase. I drove an hour across state lines and this guy wouldn't even meet me in person. The front desk shuffled me off to another salesman who told me RUBEN was busy in meetings for the rest of the day (it was closing time). I demanded to see him and shouted his name in the hallways, and he didn't even have the balls to see me face to face. Another manager in the office tried to rectify the situation...they told me they'd bring a car to my home to test drive, obviously they didn't. They also promised me a whole bunch of other stuff, obviously I got nothing. I called the dealership multiple times after this incident, and RUBEN is never available to speak. His front desk said Ruben would get back to me, and that its going on his "priority list". It's been a month and I haven't heard a thing, not an apology, not anything. Thursday 3/4/2110:30am: I had gone here last week with two cars that I expressed interest in the week before in an email with their sales department on their site. Upon getting assigned a random sales person at arrival, i was told neither car I had told them ahead of time about was ready to test drive. I said I would drive one while they got the other. Then a loan officer or someone else walked out from the back not wearing a mask. A sales person was sitting in the corner and told him he had to put on a mask on the sales floor. I thought he had made a mistake in forgetting but boy was i wrong. This loan officer or whatever he was decided to tell the sales person she was just in sales and she should stick to her leads and not tell him to be putting on a mask, he also said it wasn't really the law and he didn't have to wear one. he then continued to verbally abuse her for 5min causing her to get upset and go outside for air. My sales person apologized but I was too upset seeing the hostile work environment created especially around covid safety. A customer care manager named shanon reached out and I explained this story to him the story which appalled him. I didn't have any names of the people involved as they weren't my sales person. I was outraged. 3/10/21,10:30am: I had decided to make another appointment and give this dealership another shot, whoever runs their appointment system thanked me for giving them another chance. I got to the dealer this morning, was assigned another random sales person, they acted as if there was no incident before, the manager didn't even come over to say hello, try to apologize, anything. Then they yet again had nothing prepared again, and kept pressuring me to talk numbers without ever seeing or driving any vehicle. So I left the dealership and went home. This is just not acceptable in any retail field, this dealership clearly doesn't care about customers or their employees and should have their dealership franchise revoked. read more

Horrible experience with this dealership. I have been texting with them for a week as I was interested in two Audis they advertised online. They seem to have no idea about the vehicles as they do not specialize them. my experience when I got there it was terrible. The person who had been texting me checked in numerous times to ask if I was still coming and said that they were flexible on pricing. Upon arrival they did not have either vehicle and did not know which ones I was there to see... The person who took care of me pulled up the vehicle and knew nothing about it, did not show me any thing on the inside or outside and barely know where it came from or how badly of an accident it had been in. Upon completing test drive they told me that they were not flexible on pricing in the pricing that I saw on the Internet was at and their best offer. They did not know what they would give me for my trade-in which is understandable because I didn't have it there but could not give me a firm number or even a range. The sales person just repeatedly said "I'll up the trade in price" When I asked if they were negotiable and told him that their person who had been texting me told me that they were flexible on pricing he said he could probably go down by $300 to $400... what an absolute joke. The sales person repeatedly asked me if I wanted to take the car today and said that they wouldn't make a deal and go lower unless I agree to taking the car that very day. Who asks that? I felt very pressured and felt like the entire thing was a scam. They would not let me see the Carfax, or print out the Carfax he had told me it was in a fender bender but wouldn't give me any more information. They also did not know when it was last serviced or had any work done. The car was extremely dirty and had scratches all over it they could have at least washed it before letting people take it for a test drive. As a person who is in sales I do not understand their tactics. You do not ask someone to make a decision without giving them a firm number. The sales person acted like they could care less if they actually made a sale and would not go to their manager to ask for a firm price he wanted me to agree to take the car and sign something without a number! I have never experienced anything like this... perhaps it is because I always buy luxury cars that I have never been to a low end dealership like this but it's totally unfair to people who are coming in to purchase something reliable at a fair price. Do not come here if you are looking for an honest staff that is trained properly in customer service. Sorry no choice for 0 Stars! I originally posted this complaint on the BBB website after months of trying to get the dealership to rectify the problem. But since they never did, and since it's been over 3 months with no response from the BBB posting, I decided to move on and just make sure as many people as possible know how horrible this place is! First of all, it took this service center almost a year, 7 visits, & over $1000 to finally fix my Forte Koup's air conditioning. Just an awful experience that I was relieved to be done with. But my main complaint here is that after all that time, money and aggravation, when I got my car back (for the 7th time), I realized that they had replaced my own store-bought, personal license plate frames on the front and back of the car with their own, including their name and phone number! This was absolutely the last straw. You're going to steal from me AND advertise your business on my car after the mess you put me through?? I asked where my frames were and was told they were gone. Thrown away. I was told it was the policy of their new sales manager Darwin Oliva to replace any license plate frames of cars not bought there, with their own advertising frames!! REALLY???? I called and spoke with this manager and he confirmed his policy. I asked if this policy included taking & keeping the frames people had obviously purchased on their own and he said yes. He somehow did not see this as stealing. Again, REALLY?? He then went on to tell me I needed to seek psychological counseling for my anger. Not even a hint of the reality that this was absolutely wrong to do. After further back and forth Mr. Oliva offered to reimburse me out of his pocket for my stolen property. I asked him to send me a check. That never happened. When I called back and inquired yet again he said that the service center was going to replace the frames (without even asking which ones I had purchased). I told him I would send a link to the Amazon product I spent much time searching for. I did. I never heard back. I called yet again... and am now told that Mr. Oliva no longer works there (no surprise...). This complaint is certainly not about the money but ENTIRELY about principle. It was unbelievably aggravating and insulting, rubbing salt into an already terrible experience. The fact that this manager did not see what he was doing as wrong or illegal is just beyond me. No apology, just more gaslighting. Even his own service manager agreed that this policy was a problem. He did NOT want to receive calls like mine. My desired outcome is for Kia to either replace these frames with two from Amazon below or reimburse me for the money. I'd also like a formal apology for the theft and for being told that my reaction was overblown and an indication of a mental problem. I'd also like to know that they have changed this policy and that car owners no longer have to worry about their property being taken and substituted when going to this service center. They sold it out from under me! So I had them transfer my $500 to another car to hold for 4-days - and they gave me a piece of paper signed by the Manager stating that. It was sold the next day. I recently bought a 2021 Kia Forte LXS,I can say this is the best used car dealership I have dealt with!

If there was a 0 option for how many stars to give I would go with that but I had to give at least 1. My husband bought me a car from this dealership back a little while before Memorial Day weekend. It is now July. They told us they would take care of the registration. We are out of state, so my husband thought that was weird but they assured him they do it all the time. They gave us a temp registration from the state of NY and he drove the car home to NH. When the NY registration ran out, we had to get a temp plate in NH because we still had no registration and no title from the dealership. Long story short, our 20 day plate in NH has now run out too and we still have NO registration and NO title on our new, expensive car. It is now sitting in our driveway completely un-driveable with no way to register it because they are not sending us the title, and this shit show of a dealership has stopped answering our calls. I can't decide if they are totally incompetent or totally criminal. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THESE PEOPLE! They are shysters! We have owned this car now for 2 months and cannot drive it because they will not send us the required paperwork OR communicate with us when we will have it. Next step is a lawyer..... read more

My son went to test drive a car. the first thing they did was try to get him interested in the more expensive car. They then told him that they needed to get the car from the lot. He sat for one hour. I then told him to leave. The salesman wrote down a quote on a piece of paper and he left. I called the salesman 2 days later and he tried to get me to pay more then the quote he told my son. He then said he forgot the price and he would honor it. I told him a price I got from Yonkers Kia and asked if he could match it. He then put me on hold and came back and said he would honor it - but I would have to pay the taxes upfront rather then rolling it into the payment. I guess he thought I was an idiot - because when you do the math, his Original quote included the taxes would make it more expensive. I then asked another question and he put me on hold. After 6 minutes on hold - I hung up. He never even called me back!! This place has actually been rude to me before when I was interested in a Kia 4 years ago. I never wrote a review on that - but this time I couldn't resist. I believe you could do better elsewhere! My son drove 35 minutes to test drive a car and he Is ignored, paying taxes upfront, giving different quotes even after the remembered my son - he got defensive and argumentative when I asked him why you would let a person wait 1 hour while cars had to be moved - they are just plain unprofessional. They are very eager to sell you a car (for above ticket price plus a service contract) and act like they will be helpful but try and get service or a response to your request. I called multiple times over the last month (phone, on the app, speaking to a manager or two (Gabriel for one) and leaving multiple messages for "oscar" in service. Absolutely ghosted me. This is outrageous and totally unprofessional. The manager (Gabriel) explained that once they sell you the car, their service department is a separate entity. They take no responsibility.
