I came here today for brunch. Let's just sum it up by saying a full week with family visiting from Maine, a party of 7, several kids, separate checks, and a highly hung over aunt. Just tried this place out for dinner since the parking lot is always full. The food was really good. My husband got the bbq chicken, which was smothered in bbq sauce, cheese, and bacon. It was phenomenal. I had the broiled trout, which was a little bland, but it's trout, so... They have these very tasty deep fried corn fritters on each plate, a slice of watermelon, and the french fries were quite good. My daughter had the chicken tender platter and they were very tasty. She loved them. The atmosphere is lovely, the wait staff is quite friendly. Service was a bit slow, but the food and the people made it a good place to eat. This restaurant is most definitely a work in progress. My wife and I were on our way into Warrenton, when we happened upon this establishment. We often frequented the Town and Country in its day. The place was quite busy this late Sunday morning. We were quickly seated and the young wait staff took our orders. The renovations were nice; the place certainly looked cleaner than it had in the past. Perhaps, twenty five minutes later our food arrived, but our orders were transversed. The waffles my wife ordered with blueberries ended up on my plain pancakes. A trivial mistake, the waitress return to the kitchen to rectify the order. A few minutes later we were eating. My wife was moderately pleased with her order, but my pancakes tasted like they were made of rubber. Should it be difficult to tear a pancake in half by hand? Furthermore, the bacon was a bit undercooked for an order of "crispy." I also had some minor issues with the post-meal experience. Another waiter cleared my wife's plates and left mine. (My drink was removed, half full before I was finished.) My wife received her coffee with no milk or a spoon to stir the sugar that was already on the table. Most of these issues were minor (save for the taste of the pancakes.) Yet, I have to consider the total experience. Overall, we did were not satisfied with the meal or service. I wasn't even offered the opportunity to provide feedback as we were whisked out the door with a "have a nice day." I guess next time we drive by the Northside 29, well keep going...to the Frost Diner. read more

I would NEVER Go here again in my entire life. The place is gross, the bar was sticky and hadn't been wiped down in a while. When I went to the bathroom I saw the biggest roach crawling up the wall! I brought it up to a guy and his wife r who said tHey were the one owners and they were very rude and saying that I was lying about it. I would never give this place another penny of my money. I patronize Northside 29 two or three times every month, and I have never experienced anything other than good service and tasty food. Breakfast being served until 2PM is huge to me, and yesterday we had a Western Omelette, pancakes, home fries, English Muffins, all kinds of good things, between noon and 1PM, and everything was fine. Empty glasses were promptly refilled, empty plates were promptly cleared away. I am dismayed by some of these negative reviews, and wonder if these people would be unhappy no matter where they went and no matter what they ordered? read more

It was a mistake stopping here for breakfast. My sister and I were served pancakes that had molded fermented blueberries in them. After getting our waitress's attention (she was having a personal conversation with all the other servers there talking about unprofessional topics) we brought it to her attention. Instead of apologizing and offering new pancakes she told us the blueberries were fine in the bag they came from and it wasn't bad, but offered to open a new bag and remake the pancakes. I got another pancake (which was fine) but my sister didn't. They offered to take a $1 off the bill. The manager never came over to our table and the waitress continued to give us very bad service. Perfect little, nondescript restaurant / diner on the north side of a very busy US highway (29). The food is fresh and tasty, nothing fancy, just good food and not expensive either. Tuesday is half-price burger day (eat in only) and hubby and I went for lunch. I've driven by there a million times, but it was probably 25 years since I last stopped in. I will be back. The service was a tad slow, but that was because there was a Chamber lunch in the next room. The burgers were GREAT! I had their Western Burger with bacon, cheese, 2 fried onion rings, lettuce, tomato and bbq sauce. It was a large patty on a soft yummy bun. The bacon was thick and chewy and good enough for me to want to try their breakfasts (which are served till 2PM every day). It was a good, top rate burger and the fries were also good. They had some great looking things on the menu and if they are as good as the burgers, I will be a happy camper. The most disgusting sandwich was the chicken pita entree, which was actually pork instead of chicken, however, the waiter didn't care or make any effort to correct. He stated that sometimes they get the chicken and pork mixed up because it looks the same. Omelettes are good enough, though quality of cheese could be improved. The fried potatoes alternate from being delicious to being inadequately reheated and cold on the inside. Hit or miss. I wish they could pull it together and make it consistent with higher quality ingredients and a more pleasing wait staff. LOVE this place!! Food is always fantastic. Tons of choices. Casual comfort food and you can even sit in the bar area and catch live music on the weekends. Plenty of choices for beer and let's not forget a Bloody Mary on Sunday's. My kids love the chicken soup with lemon. The 29 Reuben was to die for. Think you can't get decent prime rib at a Greek Diner? Think again!! I'm a foodie snob and this is currently one of my favorite "go to" places in the Warrenton area. Food and service best South of Boston! This restaurant is always great. We go there as often as we can. The food and service have always been good. Last night we were there and had at least four peole waiting on our table at all times! The owners work the floor as well! They are constantly "patrolling" to make sure every customer is happy! No matter if we go sweaty right off our motorcycles in the good weather or we go dressed like last night, 20 degrees no bikes", we are treated with the same 5 star service and food. Don't believe us don't go and we won't have to wait in line next time we go at at a busy hour! And for you bath room nuts. The ladies room is clean decorated with beautiful tiles. This really isn't high on my list since I don't dine in bath room! Anyway it is family owned and worked. On our way out a handsome young man, my guess family, thanked us for going and I said no thank you for such a wonderful night. Recently went there for breakfast with our daughter's youth basketball team, after another parent suggested it because the local chain place was way too busy. We we arrived, we were seated right a way. The server was pleasant and connected very well with the children. It took a little bit to receive our food, but understandably so... the group was large. What brings down their ratings is the breakfast food. For their lunch and dinner, as a mom and pop comfort food place, it would be four stars! Sadly the local Denny's beats their breakfast hands down. I would highly suggest only going for lunch and dinner to have a better experience. We have been there twice.The sausage and gravy was bland and pasty tasting.The potatoes were mush. So on our second try, we asked for extra crispy potatoes. They were mushy and cold. The eggs over easy and omelet were Ok. The toast wasn't toasted. The sausage patty was bland. The only thing great is the coffee. The servers are friendly. Not so great. Food is average at best and hit or miss depending on when you go or who is cooking. Last trip the waitress did horrible job. Served my wif room temperature coffee, got me the wrong drink and did not offer or bring horseradish sauce with Prime Rib. My wife asked for medium well steak which literally had blood oozing out. We love going there for breakfast, get the pick four, always awesome Caribou Coffee and the wait staff is always friendly. Yes they get busy on weekend mornings but with good reason. Fantastic place! I was down the road at Hoffman's archery dropping off a crossbow, and on the way back (all the way to Stafford), my girlfriend said there was a restaurant close by, so in we went (masked). They are practicing social distancing seating and there is hand sanitizer on the tables for personal use. Great service, warning, the servings are HUGE! Literally one serving could feed two, but who doesn't love take-home? I got the breakfast burrito and a side of grits (came with it), and she got the breakfast lasagna. Both meals were delicious! I am from the South, and know my way around grits, these are literally the BEST grits I've ever eaten (don't tell Mama), absolutely perfect. We ate outside on the beautiful patio with a mini-waterfall under a nice sized umbrella (all tables are shaded), great ambiance. Everything on the menu looked delicious, we'll try to come back in two weeks for lunch when my bow is ready, can't wait! read more

We have been coming to Northside 29 for a few months now. The staff is fast, friendly and efficient. We usually come in for a weekend breakfast. The place is often packed. The pancakes are huge! The flavor is really good too, kind of malty and rich tasting . Except for one less than hot off the griddle pancake (which they happily replaced right away) the food has always been great. I read the negative reviews about the breakfast potatoes and while I've always gone for the pancakes, I didn't notice anyone that ordered the potatoes complaining about then. They seemed to be very popular and looked crispy and a good compliment to the rest of the breakfast. The eggs are always perfect. The sausage is homemade. Some weeks it is spicy and some weeks less so but always good. The bacon was perfectly cooked and better than average flavor. The coffee is a real treat. I'm not one who buys gourmet coffee but the caribou coffee they serve is so good!! During the recent government furlough we decided to try it for dinner. On a Tuesday evening we stopped in for their half price burger special. Great selection of burgers, nice presentation, good flavor, juicy and even on a good tasting bun. The fries were hot and crispy. The place was empty when we got there but full when we left. We also enjoyed some tasty local beer as it was happy hour so even that was a good deal. All in all a pleasant start to the evening. We will be coming back! We love Greek food so we are anxious to try some of the ethnic fare on the menu. Nothing was overpriced or small portioned. I live in the Bealeton area. My husband and I enjoy going out to eat. Northside is one of our favorite restaurants located within the Warrenton to Culpeper areas. The breakfasts are wonderful and we also enjoy eating dinner there. We judge are favorite places on the atmosphere, bathroom cleanliness and as well as food and service and last but no \ least the coffee. Visited recently and had the meatloaf. It was actually, surprisingly delicious! I rarely get meatloaf out but felt brave. We also got cheese fries, which were good!
