Can't speak for the sales aspect, but I would avoid the service department here like the plague. They'll act kind in person, but once you leave your car with them, they have no sense of urgency and their main goal seems to be "how can we do the least work possible while simultaneously charging the customer as much as possible?". Thankfully, I am well informed about my car and have enough mechanical knowledge to sniff out BS. After 2 weeks, it got to a point to where I brought up misrepresentation of services and then the singular guy assigned to my car took a big step back as he could tell I was serious and not going to tolerate anymore. I mentioned the Deceptive Trade Practices Act and he went into damage control mode, fearing litigation. For the 2 weeks my car was there, all they did was do an easy install of a small sensor I asked about (hoping it would fix my electrical issues with my transmission). They also completed some kind of diagnosis that was propped up as being an internal mechanical teardown, when it was actually just checking the transmission fluid for metal shavings, using scanners for codes, and external inspection of sensors. That didn't stop them from claiming hours and hours of labor and other charges. Also did the usual dealership routine of suggesting every up-charged minute maintenance item in the book, regardless of the fact that those services were literally just done less than 4,000 miles ago. I visited this service center for a recall on my vehicle. In addition to the recall I wanted them to inspect one of my tires since my tire pressure light had come on for the 3rd time this year. They performed the recall and inspected the tire. They found nothing wrong with the tire and charged me $97 for the tire inspection. The pressure light came on 4 weeks later so I took the car to Discount Tire. They were able to remove a nail and patch the tire for free. Subject: Serious Safety Oversight - Service on May 24, 2025 I'm writing to express my deep disappointment and concern regarding the service I received at North Side Honda on May 24, 2025 at 10:15 AM. I brought my vehicle in for service, which included a multi-point inspection. At no time was I informed of any issues with my tires. Later that day, I suffered a tire blowout on the highway, which could have easily resulted in a serious accident. I immediately took my vehicle to Big O Tires to replace the blown tire and have the others inspected -- only to be informed that all my tires were dangerously worn, with tread measurements of 2-3/32", well below safe levels. He also claimed that other shops wouldn't have done even that. Incompetent Northside Honda Service Department One star is way too high a rating. In early June, I took my car to Northside Honda for an NHTSA recall of 2007-2011 CR-Vs. They installed a support brace to the frame inside the rear wheel wells. When I got the car back, I was surprised to find a print out on the dash showing the rear tires were far out of alignment. The service tech had not mentioned there was a problem. A few days later I took it to my local AAA certified garage for a 4-wheel alignment. They called to say that the rear shocks had collapsed and the rear upper control arms and knuckles had to be replaced too. They said it was impossible for a qualified mechanic to have installed the brackets and not seen the problem because they were in the wheel well. read more

I just had my final experience at Northside Honda. I had been taking my Hondas to the dealership for service for over 20 years. There has been a mixed bag of service experiences - mostly good, and certainly nothing so bad that I would never return, until now. My current vehicle - a 2010 CRV with 170k miles - had an engine light and the ABS braking light come on at the same time. I noticed no performance problems. The manual suggested the "open/close the gas cap" trick, but after a day the warning lights were still on, so I brought it to the dealership. I also asked for an oil change, as I was nearing that time as well. After a day, they called me and said "blown head gasket, you need a new engine. We have one with 150,000 miles on it, six-month warranty, for $6,000." I said I needed to think about it. I called back and asked for clarification about why the only option was to replace the engine instead of replacing the head gasket. The service consultant Matt said it was in bad shape and would be too expensive to repair. In hindsight I wish I had written down his exact words. I asked if I could leave it at the shop and work out a deal to buy a new vehicle. He said I could, although they probably wouldn't give me much for a trade-in. That was fine with me, as at least I wouldn't have to deal with a worthless undriveable vehicle. I did some web searches about blown head gaskets and the symptoms, and the cost of replacing engines. Decided to pick the vehicle up and told them I needed to get all my stuff out of it, not mentioning that I was beginning to distrust their diagnosis. When I got to the dealership, I noted that despite "needing a new engine", they performed the oil change anyway. Okay, maybe they did that first. But wouldn't they have noticed something odd about the old oil? This was not mentioned in my earlier conversion with Matt. Oil change, plus $150 for the diagnosis, plus miscellaneous fees, and I was out of there for $248.49. On the way home, the vehicle drove perfectly - no overheating, no sluggishness, no smoke, and now no warning lights. Did the oil change reset the sensors? Does it take a while for a blown head gasket to start setting off warning lights? I brought it to another shop (that specializes in Honda/Acura), and mentioned the diagnosis of a blown head gasket. One day later the shop told me "It is going to be expensive. You need a new radiator, housing assembly and thermostat, and the labor is high. You're looking at nine hundred dollars." No evidence of an issue with the head gasket. No suggestion of needing a new (well, used with 150,000 miles on it) $6,000 engine. I have since driven the vehicle over 170 miles with no issues. I will never return to Northside Honda. I feel betrayed. read more

This was my first venture into test driving a Honda. In early June of 2023 - I made contact via the website with Steven Casias (Sales consultant) I outlined that I was looking to test drive an accord. We made an appoitnment at which time I also let him know that I was looking to trade in my car and to schedule an appraisal. I arrived to the lot, get to the front desk where I was informed that Steven was with another customer and I get handed over to someone from his team (that's fine, no issue on my end) what I did have an issue with is that the accord was not ready for a test drive. His team member had to look up and find a car based on what I was looking for (all information I had already shared with Steven prior to my arrival) which I thought would be the bare minimum. I let his team know that I had another appointment and was hoping to get the test drive and an offer of the appraisal for my car. We finally found an accord, went for a test drive. I really liked the car but then it took an additional 46 minutes to come back to me and ask me for the vin number (which I had also provided to Steven prior). If there is one thing I value above all is else it is time and my time was disrespected by Steven. His team manager followed up with me - Jamie Anteola. To whom I expressed all of this to, no apology and recogntiion of the mistakes by Steven. I next heard from Steven as if I was a happy prospective customer and expressed that I was still interested in a car but did not want to work with him. I never heard back. When I called to make an appointment I called and verified that there was a shuttle or Lyft service that I could use to return home for work. I made the appointment and dropped my car off during the handoff I also made sure to double check that there was a shuttle or Lyft service and was informed there was a Lyft service. I gave my phone number, drop off address, and whatever other info I needed for that at that time. I was told to wait up front and that they'd call me a Lyft right away. I walked to the front and was told by an employee that the best place to wait was outside on a bench in the heat. I waited in the sun and heat for 20 minutes then a different employee came out because I guess someone forgot two write down my number and address. I waited another 20 minutes, still in the heat and sun, before going inside to ask what the status is. No one has any answers. I call my husband to leave work pick me up because my lunch hour is almost over. I inform the front desk that I won't be needing a Lyft anymore since it's taken 40 minutes since dropping off my car and no one has shown up. Ten minutes after THAT I finally get a call from someone who says they are about to call me a Lyft. 50 minutes after dropping my car off and no one has even attempted to call me a ride that I double checked was an option. I didn't have any time to make lunch, and was late because no one could be bothered to call a Lyft. And I only live less than five minutes away. This is completely unacceptable service. I've never had this issue at a ford service center. And the cherry on top is that I have been bombarded for weeks since then with calls, texts, and emails about leaving reviews. Strike 1: 3 hours to do an oil change because I came in for multiple service needs but it took 3 hours to just do an oil change. Strike 2: Returned to finish rest of service needs on a Friday with promise of a loaner so I can pick up vehicle on Monday. ...except no loaner, and they couldn't even guarantee basic services would be done by close of business Monday. Strike 3: Told I could come in for a brake pad/rotor change at 3pm on a Saturday and take home same day, waited for 5 minutes when I arrived for service providers to get off phones, than told at 3:05 that they stopped receiving vehicles, but if I want to leave the vehicle they could start on it Monday. ...also prices are quite a bit higher than other places I have found since forever saying goodbye to this place. I purchased my car there in 2018, and have free oil changed left, but generally go elsewhere because they don't return phone calls. Hate doing this but people need to know. Sorry if this hurts the good people of this company, you know who you are. I've given this company every opportunity in over a month to do the right thing. But like most things it starts at the top, with Herman. I have left him messages to call me, no reply. Even left message with the owner Woods, and no reply. They just don't care about their people or customers, everyone is expendable to them. Besides working in the most Toxic environment I have ever experienced in my 15 years in the Industry, not caring about people is what bothers me the most. Reason a certain sales manager with low self esteem but hugh ego makes everyone's life who he comes in contact with living hell. When I first started he said it was a mistake that I care so much for the customer. From then on like my coworkers, you try to avoid him, go around him. You make a deal with a customer and he wants you to bump (his words) $2495 more. Customer wants to buy out their lease, he try's to charge them $3000 more. Which is illegal in my experience. He's all about himself looking good. Because of one guy, we lost just as many customers as were sold. In stead of working together for the better of all. He gives resistance everytime for everything, always eating instead of giving you his full attention, disappears whenever you do need him. Talks negative about his team to all who'll listen. Makes fun of certain customers. I have never seen such a bad manager and even worse person. Reason I walked away in less than a month besides what I've mentioned. Every paycheck wrong. Paid four times and four times wrong. And instead of handling right away, to show they value their people. They tell you wait till next week. And even then it's not correct. I'm pretty sure if it happened to them, they would not wait another week. Also the PreOwn inventory is in bad shape, busted bumpers and such. They tell us to tell customers we'll take care of if you buy. And then they do a second rate job to save a buck, and he the same manager gets mad at us when we want to follow up for our customer and gets mad at the customer just because they want their new car back as promised. Everyday and I mean everyday was zero leadership, zero help, zero teamwork.zero fun. He's a one man wrecking crew and he's still employed. I try to see the good in all, the only good in this guy I saw, was he fed the stray cats, seriously. Believe me I'm doing this to protect potential customers and potential employees. In these times because of more demand than supply, customers are asked to pay more. To pay Full Price. So at most companies you want to sell in these times. Income has never been better. Well at this company, you charge a customer $3500 over MSRP, thinking you made a nice commission, and you're still making what they call a Mini $300. Company has all these junk fees they add on to the cost of the vehicle, and some of the fees like fuel and pdi the manufacture pays dealer already on all new cars. Plus they add over $1400 additional pac for new and $2200 for PreOwn. Employees can't win. Very very greedy company. Like I said I'm sorry if I hurt the good. But people need to know what they're getting into, so they don't have to waste a month like I did. So so much more I can share but hopefully by now you see, everyone is expendable at this company.
