Matt was very professional!! From the time he arrived through the four hours of service, it was obvious he not only knew what he was doing, but also took pride in his work. Overdue on writing this. I scheduled an appointment with Matt and Northstar, but had to wait a few weeks because he is in such demand. And the wait was worth it. I admit, I was one of those who waited waaaaay too long to have his dryer vent cleaned. Matt came out, inspected the vent, both in-house and on the roof. It was so very clogged, but Matt did not make me feel stupid about not having it done. He was actually grateful FOR me that I was doing something about it. Matt was friendly, engaging, and even educated me throughout the process. Matt's quoted charge for dryer vent cleaning was $69. Matt worked his behind off for over 3 hours cleaning the vent and blowing it out to ensure he got everything, and full ventilation was established. After so much time and effort, I wouldn't have been surprised if he charged me more than the quoted $69. He did not, and he did not even hint at it. Matt's charge remained $69 and I could tell he was grateful for the business. Needless to stay, I tipped Matt well, and was happy to do so. Matt and his service was worth every penny. He not only cleaned my clogged vent, he cleaned all the built up lint behind my dryer and reconnected my dryer tube that wasn't connected very well to being with. Matt was highly recommended by my son who told me he was at his house for 3 hours. Matt cleaned out his vents even finding 2 dead birds in there. He only charged the original $69 (of course he gave him a big tip). We had him do ours yesterday, no dead birds but 21 years of build up. It took him hours to get it cleaned out. He stayed till about 9pm to get it all done. Still only charged us $69. Again he deserved a big tip. So refreshing to find someone who is more concerned about helping you, instead of taking your last dollar. Such a nice guy and great at his craft. You'd be a fool to use anyone else. read more

Wow, this guy is amazing!! He love what he does and he does it well! He cleaned out our dryer vent, the hose and the vent all the way up to the roof of our house and cleaned the vent on the roof! He also warned us that our dryer was "burned up" inside and is now a fire hazard to use due to how badly our vent was clogged causing condensation in the dryer causing the parts to burn up. We quickly ordered a new dryer from Home Depot! Our dryer was 13 years old and I was wanting a steam dryer anyway ;-) Thanks to Matt we didn't risk having a house fire because of our faulty dryer! Matt was working on a neighbor's house when we walked by with our dogs. He gave us a card and said he would give us the group rate of $50 and he could service our house the same day. We have been in our house for 8 years and never considered having the dryer vent duct system inspected or cleaned. Matt came by, explained the process and got to work. I had a dryer that was not drying sufficiently and giving off a smell that was giving me headaches. I contacted Matt Brown of Northstar Services, and he climbed up on the roof and cleaned out the vent line down to the dryer. He noticed that there was something not right about the vent louver, and saw that it was installed with a defective crack, which caused it to not open fully. He also cleaned out the buildup which was inside the dryer, and made sure it was working correctly. Matt took the time to do the job right and determine what was causing the problem, and I am not sure anyone else would have had the patience to do this. I highly recommend his service to all homeowners and businesses. And by the way, he did this on a Sunday afternoon for a very reasonable fee. read more

Dryer wasn't drying very well, took multiple cycles to dry wash, and was pretty sure the vent was the issue. 20-year-old house, we've been here 15 years (just the 2 of us) with no cleaning. Now know that is way too long. Matt was great, very thorough and careful. Friendly and price was reasonable as well. Photos inside the vent were mind-boggling.
