I've been a homeowner for over 20 years in the Phoenix area and dealt with dozens of people coming to our home and servicing one thing or another. None of them compare to Matt. His customer service, friendly disposition and communication skills are beyond anything I've ever seen. He's better than a Fortune 500 company with 20 full-time employees handling communications. A one-man operation, he texted several times to set up and confirm the appointment and told me what to expect. Matt texted 30 minutes prior to arrival. When Matt arrived at the house he inspected the laundry room and told me the best position for the dryer to facilitate the vent (about three inches to the right). He went up on the roof, took photos of the vent and texted me about six images. After cleaning it out he texted additional photos. After years of neglect to this area of my home, I'm sleeping better knowing we have less of a fire hazard and my clothes dryer is operating more efficiently. If you need your dryer vent cleaned (and I can't imagine you'd be on Yelp reading this if you didn't) stop now and call Matt at Northstar. The work ethic this man had was inspiring and he charges a ridiculously fair price for the work he's doing. Let me tell you my experience: I called Matt and he told me he'd try to get by that night because the rest of his schedule wasn't going to work for me. When he couldn't make it, he called and apologized profusely before agreeing to squeeze me in the next day even though he'd have to go WAAYYYY out of the way (Litchfield Park to me in Ahwatukee). He showed up and got to work. It turns out my house has the world's worst setup for a dryer vent. After several hours it was very late and he was unable to crack the clog. He refused to take my money even though he spent almost 4 hours working. He told me what I needed to do in order to find the clog. The next day, he came back out and we were able to get the gunk cleared. He loves what he does, he cares about your safey, he's a small business owner, and he will be easy to deal with. Matt to the rescue!!! Okay, so some background info, our dryer has taken FOREVER to dry clothes for the past year or so. And yes I know it was very stupid to take this long to have it checked. Unfortunately I kept insisting to get it checked out but my mom kept saying that it was working okay so we kept postponing it. The last straw was this week when I tried to dry a normal load of laundry and after 2 hours they were still soaking wet. I got on my beloved Yelp to find a dryer vent cleaner. I e-mailed Matt and we scheduled an appointment and he came right at 10AM. To make a long story short, our builder in 4S Ranch made some crappy mistakes and the reason for our clogged dryer vent was a piece of metal that was bent back INTO the vent that blocked all the lint to escape. If you live in 4S Ranch and are having problems with your dryer, I suggest you get it checked ASAP. Our vents were super clogged and a crazy fire hazard. Matt fixed our whole system and cleaned the vents good as new, had to repair both the vent where it escaped and the vent that connected to our dryer. I called Matt because of all the great reviews and he offered the lowest price I could find on dryer vent cleaning. I asked him to text me when he was about a half hour away and he did (Which is great because most service people say they'll let you know but don;t actually call until they're in the driveway). Best value in town for preventive maintenance to reduce the risk of a fire in your home from your dryer vent duct. Have you ever heard the term, keep it simple stupid (KISS)? No frills owner/worker. Matt kept me informed from the day of the appointment to the time he showed up with phone messages. I'm very inquisitive. Every question was answered and explained in a simple way. Before and after video of my dryer vent duct was provided. Additional resource handyman (10/4 Handyman Services, 520 858 3060) was given if additional work is needed. For example, the dryer vent duct next to the fan duct is not good. Lint can fall back down fan vent duck. Results: dry time was half of what it was, output airflow went from 20 inches to 30 inches, and reduction in the electric bill. Matt truly cares about you and your home.
