The guy who answered the phone when we called in was nice, he provided all the info we required. We admitted that it was our fault, we did not argue about that. But when we went to pick up the car, that was different story! After my husband paid the bill, we inspected the car before we left the lot. We found that rear bumper was broken on one side and it had several deep scratches. We went back to confront them about it. One of the guy was rude to us, he stated: "Its only the scratches and damages were already there!". Really? Did he take pics before he towed the car? No. We took several pictures at the lot, and we will file the claim against them. The have the right to tow the car but they do not have the right to cause damages to it!! You could see spots, when the car was hooked, crack has a length of 9-10'' and you could actually stick your fingers thru it!!!! Plus several other scratches, all apparently caused by dragging up or dropping the car on the ground. We are already working to file claim against them! SHAME WE CANNOT POST THE PICS, IT WOULD BE A GREAT WARNING TO OTHERS!! ALWAYS INSPECT YOUR CAR AT THE LOT BEFORE YOU DRIVE BACK HOME!! UPDATE ON MY CASE 02/14/16. Currently, I and owner are working to fix my car. After receiving my complaint with pictures, he reached out to me and offer to inspect the car. He admitted that damages to the car were caused by his driver. I am glad he saw it and confirmed that. Right now we are in the process of fixing my Honda. No Stars- this tow company is just out for your money. It's one thing for doing your job and it's another blurring the lines on what is and isn't ethical in regard to towing vehicles. Tow company will tow cars without throughly verifying if cars are properly tagged, especially in residential areas. A prime example happens in a private residential area where a total of 5+ cars were wrongfully tow because of lack of verification of correct parking passes on personal vehicles. Tow company was also indeed found to be in the wrong. Check your work before you unethically remove vehicles. The service is extremely rude and cannot provide proof to back the reason for tow. Don't even bother trying to talk to someone face to face because every transaction is ran through a mirror with just a small opening for customers to communicate through. The entire facility has no integrity or accreditation for the work they do. I would respect a tow company that's just trying to do their job if they towed vehicles ethically and had better proof of reason for tow to back them up properly, but in this case all tows made in this situation were wrongfully towed and no sort of compensation to bring vehicle back or comp uber rides for a mistake the tow company did is disappointing. I'm not one to ever leave a negative review but I'm sorry, I cannot respect an establishment that can't at least back their reasons for unethical tows. read more

That's what I get for being a responsible, law-abiding citizen.... The dumbass driver aka CAR JACKER didn't recognize the new color and was too illiterate to look into it or anything so in the morning, my car was gone because they had STOLEN my car illegally. When I call in the morning you'd think they'd apologize and tell me to come get my car right away? This shoddy company took my daughter's car incorrectly thinking it was a repo right out of her driveway. They brought it back about 15 minutes later. They clearly had the wrong car, VIN, plate, and address. They left no note or indication of their screwup or even who they were. Luckily the neighbor saw it and we had some footage on a ring camera and tracked it down after pushing the police department. So I don't believe for 1 second all their crap about spotter cars, checking VINs, or anything else on their website. Do better! read more

If any apartment complex uses this place for towing services don't even bother signing a lease with them. They will tow anyone they can get away with, then charge 218 dollars before you can get your car back. What was laughable was the customer service woman. I could hear her on the other side of the screen answer the phone, then complain about me calling in spite of the fact she was clearly ignoring us. Also bonus factor was making my boyfriend wait outside the lot while I went to get my car for "safety" reasons. A predatory, sad company. I see everyone's sob stories here, where it sounds like they totally deserved to be towed, but I was completely robbed. I got my car towed in a snow storm. I made sure to read the signs where I parked and I thought I knew what I was doing. I parked in a space that was not numbered, per the sign (pictured). I woke up the next morning to my car gone. There were no visitor spots marked, and there were no signs inside the building stating a visitor pass was required (as the company told me I needed a visitor pass). I hope y'all at this company make a decent paycheck off your parking lot trolling. What a pathetic way to make money. The women behind the "two-way glass" (see pictures) was obnoxious. She insisted I sign the back of my debit card, then tried to tell me that my signature didn't match the one on my driver license!!!!!! It was complete madness. I have a video of the parking space along with a video of the inside of the building, zooming in on all the notices hung; NOTHING about parking or needing a visitor pass. Okay..I drove to IL this weekend to visit family and my car got towed from my cousins apartment complex; I had my guest parking permit in the car, but my cousin neglected to put a cross out on the date. *insert $200 tears* Needless to say when I woke up in the morning and my car was GONE, I panicked and we had to locate where my car had been towed... Northwest Recovery had my car, so we went to pick it up. Ambiance: small 2-story looking building, with a small 2 car parking spot, that is almost invisible when you drive up.. and a medal fence with some cars behind it. You park, open the door and you're greeted by coldness. I mean.. i guess you'd rather it be cold then hot, while you're waiting with other ppl in a small waiting room or lobby. It's creepy because they have a reverse mirror, so that you cannot view the faces of those who are helping you or what they are doing with your credit cards or ID. They move really slow back there. All you can see through the bottom of the window on the floor are what looks like dog bowls. Service: No one was rude or unprofessional, it's just hard to interpret what they are doing for so long with your credit cards.. with NO communication. They did damage my car while it was in their custody. The chain bust through my front bumper.. which will need replacing. So I"m waiting to find out what they are going to do about that... no one walked me out to my car, I had to chirp for my car.. so I'm thinking that they knew they had messed up car and didn't want to deal with my anger and rage. My car is only 3 years old. Nobody has time for a damaged car... I called them to let them know what had taken place. No one denied the claim or admitted to it, but simply was advised to contact the ICC ( Illinois blah blah Commission), info located at the bottom of my receipt. Car got towed due to snow cleaning from our private parking. We have move the cars by 12:30 and my neighbors caught the driver hooking my vehicle up before 12:30. They were yelling at the guy to stop by 12:31 my car was missing, my husband saw the truck off with our vehicle. The paperwork they provided they said they towed my car at 12:40pm but it the drive was driving off with my car at 12:31. I tried to show footages from our neighbors camera and to the receptionist and she was very rude. My wife parked the car in our condo parking lot and went out of state for a few days. After five days came back, later looking for the car coudn't find the car in the parking lot. Came to know that the car was towed by Northwest Recovery claiming that the car has an expired Condominium Parking Sticker, and not the current one. I paid $398 to get the car back. They dont want listen or no conversation, just pay the money if you want the car, if you delay you have to pay more When we parked the car it has the current parking sticker. The old parking sticker is also on the windshield as it is difficult to take out. That week temperature was 90 degrees during the day time, in a closed car it could be 120 degrees or more. I thought the sticker might have fallen off because of the heat. I got the car back and checked inside of the car thoroughly and to my shock there was no sticker anywhere in the car. My wife in a hurry to leave forgot to lock the car. It become clear that the tow truck driver might have opened the car (tow truck drivers have the equipment to open the cars even if it is locked), removed the sticker, took a picture of the windshield and towed the car. He noticed the car in the same parking space Wednesday night, Thursday night and Friday night, know that owner is away. Car has all the required stickers and even the old sticker. The car was towed Friday night, third day of being in the same parking space. The tow truck driver submitted a photo of the front windshield of the car, without the sticker. He removed the sticker and snapped the picture. In the picture the body shop has taken few weeks ago the sticker is visible. In many cases towing companies are a blessing. When I was stranded by the side of express way another towing company came and helped me out. North West Recovery is always a nuisance to the public and is anti-social, it seems like they are not helping anybody. Five years ago they towed my car for no reason. This place doesn't deserve stars at all!!!! My car was repo'd and I paid the finance company literally hours after it was taken. Life happens and you forget to pay stuff. Hey! (Shoulder Shrug) Anyway, I get their number from my finance company to call them to locate my vehicle. I do this, however I was told that I had to make an appointment to come get my damn car!!! Who tf does that?! You have my money AND my car, but I have to be told when I can get it? Also, my appointment wasn't until THE NEXT DAY, which also added to the inconvenience. Fast forward to the next day.... my father takes me to get my car. Everything has been paid for the previous day and all I needed were my license and the keys to the car. The transaction was smooth with no issues and then the lady behind the janky ass 2 way mirror told me to wait a few minutes for my car to be brought out. No sweat! 20 minutes go by and I still don't have my car! 6 people have by then come and gone with their vehicles, but I'm still standing there! Now I'm pissed because I have to get to work 30 MINUTES AWAY! I'm asking random men in the yard about my car and finally after another 10 minutes a guy tells me that my car was dead and they were in the back trying to jump start it!! Wtf?!! I'm livid at this point because no one was communicating with me! I'm ready to start tearing sh** up at this point. My car finally comes out, I hop in, drive off, and get to work late as hell thanks to them! Fast forward to that evening and I'm leaving work. MY CAR IS DEAD AGAIN! I called AAA to get a jump and the mechanic told me that NWR didn't deactivate my alarm and forgot to close my battery box. Idiots!! To make matters worse, I get home tired and completely drained from the day's events only to find out that when they packed up everything in my car they stole a 12 pack of Pepsi and a case of water I had gotten from the grocery store the day before it was repo'd. I called the towing company, a woman answered the phone and told me to hold. After 15 minutes, she came back on the line and when I asked if the car was towed she said she'd look. 30 more minutes on hold, and it was confirmed that the car was at their location. We arrive to pick up the car, and the woman (I presume it's the same one that answered the phone) is rude, ignorant (making inappropriate racist remarks), and inconsiderate. The towing company claimed that the sticker was not on the license plate. I ask them to bring the car around so that I could show them that the registration sticker is attached to the car. The towing company refused to bring the car around until I paid - they didn't care that they were in the wrong. I handed over my credit card. The woman refused to accept it because the signature on the back of the card did not match the signature on my license. I tried explaining that I signed my license when I was 16, so as an adult my signature has changed. The woman at the desk threw a fit, cursing and making discriminatory comments. Her coworker approached, started laughing at us. Very rude Customer Service. Their boss comes over, finally accepts the payment, and the car is brought up. I go to show that the sticker is on the car. I'm told, "if you have a problem, contact Illinois ... Commission." and the guy walks away. I re-ask and am told get off the property. A predator towing company. My work truck was towed by this company, There are no signs visible from where i was parked saying don't park work trucks in those spaces. The signs are far away, and should be on every building where people park. They used a "slim jim" to open the drivers door which i believe is illegal to do. Nothing was stolen but the driver saw there were several cameras recording him breaking into the truck. The woman who i spoke to was incredible rude, and the charged $540.88 for a truck they had for about an hour. They were supposed to use a flat bed to move a large truck, so as not to damage it. however they used the standard back lift and rolled it using its front steering wheels.I won't be able to safely drive it until the front end is checked for damage and is repaired, which i am being told is dangerous to drive the truck if something is damaged in the front end. one of the back tires had nails in the tire, which i had to replace with a spare. apparently there are nails in the yard where they store the cars. read more

Unfortunately for them, I work at a car insurance company. This company is working without a valid Relocation Tow license in Cook County. Their license was revoked.
