She escorted us over to a table with a marvelous view of the vineyards. Maria was our wonderful and charming server. She came over with a complementary glass of their wonderful rosé wine. I'm not a rosé drinker, but it was delicious. We enjoyed a wonderful flight of wines. Our favorite was their '23 Double Fall Line $32. It has a marvelous smooth blend of Cab Franc, Merlot and Blaufränkisch (Austrian Blue) Grapes. Two bottles came home later. : ) Of course, we had to indulge in some wonderful lobster rolls. Each lobster roll was $23, plus for an extra $9 you get a nice dollop of caviar to top it off ! The lobster was from a company called Oyster Party in the NY area. I think the lobster rolls were some of the best I ever had. Just a couple of notes: - It appears the hill leading up to the vineyard was recently paved. Previously, it was extremely uneven. - Be sure to make reservations online. - Parking is available within steps of entering the vineyard. Can't wait to return! : D

I've always had pleasant experiences with the live music but the last time I went the "musicians" were teens who were so high they just kept laughing and stopping and announced "sorry I can't play and sing at the same time" which would have been FINE if they'd just played something nice or entertaining to any degree. It was just... awkward. Very much amateur hour, I'm shocked that they were hired and promoted on Bad Seed's instagram. The abundant use of AI advertising should have been a clue that they were making changes here. I am just truly so so sad to see a place I used to love go downhill like this. Steve did a BOMB job on his educational wine tasting. We really felt like we left with more than a bottle of wine and great flavors. The experience was truly enriching and pretty cool to know more about this winery. This guy is a genius of a chemist and does it ALL. All wines are unaltered and as raw as it gets. Pretty cool and you can only buy these HERE. Even more exclusive. My favorite part is being able to do the tasting with open ventilation and with a proper social distance. Also the best part is the outside area with a beautiful little lake and gorgeous views. There are picnic tables and plenty of green grass where you can pack a picnic and have a little picnic date. Truly such an amazing and relaxing day out here. It's even cooler to know that these guys also offer their distillery menu and tastings as well. Something cool to come back to next time! The staff is very friendly and the wines are great, especially the chardonnay which is semi-dry and has an amazing taste, very different from a typical chardonnay. We loved that they allow you to bring your own food. What I did not like was that they do not allow to open bottles at the property. I realize it's a small place and they think it is more profitable to see by the glass, but we came with a large group of 9 people and because they had the policy, we did not stay for long, only doing the tasting and then each person got a glass. If they had allowed bottles, we would have gladly stayed more and would have gotten at least 6 bottles to drink at the winery.

Very professional, listened to what we wanted, then took us to three wineries that were fantastic. Each winery had its own unique character and the wines were spot on, as well the spirits in the last one we went to. Donovan's van was very clean, well air conditioned, and had all the amenities needed to go from one winery to the next. He's very knowledgeable of the area, well prepared, and an all around fun and great guy. He picked us up at our hotel at Marriott Courtyard Poughkeepsie and after the tour dropped us off at the Beacon Train station it really worked out very well. Donovan set up each reservation so I had to do nothing but, book my trip with him and when he arrived he even had champagne and bottled water for us! At each stop Donovan made sure that we were treated like royalty. He didn't just drop us off, he got out with us and set us all up comfortably at each winery even going out of his way to get ice for our wine and helping us choose the best reviewed wines at each stop. Then Donovan even took pictures of our group at each stop and then sent them all to me to make sure I had memories of our trip. Donovan's vehicle was clean and well taken care of. All 9 of us fit comfortably with room for a few more. He was so hospitable and so much fun to hang out with on our drive to each stop. He played the music we liked and kept us laughing the entire time. I can't say enough about Donovan. I would definitely recommend him 100%.

We visited 4 wineries, Palaia, Applewood, Demarest and Clearview. Palaia and Clearview both honored the passport by providing wine tasting. Applewood and Demarest refused the passport and would not honor the wine tasting that was paid for. I am reluctant to visit any more of the wineries being that 50% did not honor the passport. Very disappointing and ruined a perfectly good afternoon.

One odd footnote: I ordered a bourbon with a large ice cube and discovered a $3 upcharge on the bill. I've been ordering bourbon and scotch at bars around the world for decades and can't recall encountering that before. I wasn't bothered by the $3 nearly as much as the surprise charge with zero disclosure. Nothing on the cocktail menu. Nothing from the waiter. No indication whatsoever that asking for a large rock carried an additional charge. Charge whatever you want, but tell the customer before adding it to the bill. When I mentioned it, they graciously removed the charge, and I had a very pleasant conversation with a manager who understood the point and agreed it should be disclosed going forward. That's exactly how good hospitality should work. Excellent restaurant, excellent experience, and absolutely somewhere I'd return.
