Alex was our server and he made sure we were well taken care of. He suggested items, checked in often, made sure things came out in a timely fashion and even showed us photos. The food is so yummy. They weren't particularly busy (lots of open tables) and there were a lot of servers. Maybe short staffed in the kitchen? Probably more disappointing than waiting so long was the food itself. Potato soup was "fine" but nothing special and way too much bacon. Three of us got side salads and every single one of us had warm lettuce. Not even room temperature - warm, like it had been sitting under a heat lamp. The turkey panini had way more mayo that should be allowed on a sandwich and the bread was barely toasted. We waited so long for our food we couldn't risk sending it back. As it was, we were there for so long we had to change our afternoon plans to go to RMNP because we rain out of time. Fortunately, we live only an hour away so we can go back. If you are looking to maximize your time in Estes I would not recommend Notchtop. Plenty of other options in Estes.

I had the French dip and my companion had the burger, which is what we were recommended when we came in. For the French dip- The meat was tender and had great flavor. The cheese was perfect and the bread was delicious and surprisingly their fries were actually a star of the show. They're very thick cut and kind of curly but were salted well and had great crunchy outsides and soft sides. My friend had the burger and said it was delicious. We also tried the lemoncello marscipone cake, which was a fantastic hit. Wheelchair accessibility: the main entrance to this restaurant is a large flight of stairs, however to the left of the restaurant around the corner, there is a large ramp that you can get up. There's plenty of room to maneuver between tables. The bathroom door is very light and is accessible in size. The soap is a little bit high and the door lock might also be a little bit high with someone with a limited range of motion. The floors inside are wood and there are threshold transitions between rooms, but they are not very high and are sloped. Parking could be a problem. It is Estes Park so there's not a lot of street parking available. We will definitely back next time we're in Estes Park!

He reported his burger was ok, my salad was a bit of a disappointment. The menu claimed it was made with mixed greens, but unfortunately it was mostly baby spinach - which I really don't like. I was expecting some (it's almost always in mixed greens) but not this much. It also made the salad very dry. Wait staff offered me some additional balsamic, without me asking, noting that it was typically dry. Indeed! I would have been happier with a better variety of greens. The burata cheese was excellent. Berries sparse. Really cute place though. See pictures!
