I have been going to the Manhattan Beach shop for a while but this little gem so close by is wonderful. Today was my first time walking into the Pasadena store. The women were SUPER hospitable offering samples and suggestions. This shop is ADORABLE...it is the cutest i have seen so far. I love all the little touches like offering candles in case you forgot to pick up candles at the store. I love thoughtful considerate details like that. Let's talk about the reason for walking into this place in the first place. They literally make some of the best cake that i have EVER EVER tasted and i have tried many. I really love their bundtlet cakes. They are always so perfectly baked, just the right amount of sponginess and flavor. The frosting can be a bit much for me, but my boyfriend loves it! My favorite flavor is the white chocolate raspberry because it's so light yet decadent. They currently have a peanut butter chocolate chip one that's seasonal and that's also amazing! I've tried other flavors like lemon, regular white chocolate, red velvet and carrot cake. All are solid, but definitely prefer the white chocolate raspberry. Went here to pick up my sisters birthday cake and when I got here the young man in the front was so rude. He had the worst attitude. I asked for a bottom box for my order and he told me all he could give me was a bag. I'm sorry I spent 40 bucks on a cake and you won't give me a box so that the wrap won't smash the icing? So rude. Of course the wrap around the cake did ruin the icing on the drive home. What's even more rude is he gave the lady in front of me a box to hold her cake! The whole point of getting this Christmas Bundt cake was because it was decorated cute but the way they package it with the plastic wrap around ruins the icing on the Bundt cake. The cakes are just so moist. They have mini bundts, little bundlets (smaller version of a mini bundt) and regular bundts good for parties or birthdays (full cake size). I prefer the little bundlets though! My favorite is the raspberry white chocolate. I've also tried the cinnamon, red velvet, pecan and chocolate chocolate chip. Not too sweet and the flavor assortments are great. All are really good but I can never resist eating a whole rasp white chocolate on my own. Such a cute place! Visited the store for the first time today after sampling from their booth at an event. Their cakes are flavorful and moist, and they've got a good range of flavors with explanations on each of them in their store. At the side of the store is a big covered dish with little cubes of cake to try. I got a bundtlet, one of their mini cakes, and when choosing my flavor found out that they have a seasonal flavor every month or two, which is a really nice touch. I chose the peanut butter chocolate chip seasonal flavor, which is changing to strawberries and cream for the next two months. The price comes up to about $5, which isn't cheap, but it's a nice size with cute icing and packaging - it's a nice option for say, meeting one-on-one with a friend for her birthday. Service was great, the Asian girl who helped me was so sweet and cheery. Really added to the feel of the store and the first-time experience. (This may be hit or miss though, the girl at the other register didn't seem quite as happy.) Only thing is their parking lot is a little tricky, it's RIGHT next to the store (on the south side), and the front spots are hard to get out of, so you'll have to aim for a back one. read more

the one star is because the red velvet cake is always amazingly tasteful. Unfortunately the service Emma gave was nothing more then rude. Look i understand there are new rules when entering businesses due to covid, but raising your voice to my husband and I seconds after entering the building is not what i call a good way of showing customer service, nor is it a way to greet your customers. Apparently there is a 3 person limit when visiting the location, which we did not know because it was our first time there with the new restrictions. Had i had the opportunity to read the sign i would have respected them since i am also protecting myself, but i didn't have the opportunity to read any sign since Emma literally screamed behind her register before we even stepped a foot into the door "there's a 3 person limit please 1 of u wait outside!" . i could go on about how the rest of my experience went with her as she was also rude taking my order. I'm sorry Emma that you think it's ok to speak to your customers like this. I urge you to either practice better customer service during these times or maybe find another job ? read more

I've passed by this shop so many times and never went in. I wish I had tried it sooner (but I may weigh more now if I did find it sooner). I just had the chocolate chocolate chip bundt cake, and I have to concur with everyone else, it's delicious. Typically, Chocolate Chocolate Chip = over sweet. But not this time. I would rate this business a zero if possible. The week before Father's Day I placed an order to be picked up on Saturday the 20th of June at 1:00 pm. On Friday, the 19th, I receive a call around 4:48 pm telling me that they were closing temporarily and that I needed to pick up my order by 6:00 pm. I tried to question as to why the rush and the staff member was very vague and mentioned that with the Coronavirus still being present the store was temporarily closing. I drove to this location and found several individuals waiting outside. A staff member asked me my name and my order was subsequently brought out to me. During this entire transaction, no one ever told me that they were closing because they had an employee who tested positive for the virus. I learned about it on the following Monday in the newspaper. To begin with, in full transparency, they should have stopped baking and having customers pick the baked goods up. Secondarily, if they wanted to still sell the items, they should have told their customers on the phone the truth and let them decide as whether they wanted to take the risk. Since I am in the high risk category, I would have declined. Very very poor business practices. read more

The workers here were all friendly, patient, and helpful even when I got in around closing hours. Big plus! Only thing that I wasn't too happy about was how all the cakes come in one design. So far I've tried the white white chocolate, cinnamon swirl, lemon and gingerbread. Honestly, they are ALL super delicious, but I think I like cinnamon swirl the best for now.
