I don't write very many reviews. I had never heard of this place, I looked up restaurants while traveling done I-75. What a great place! We came on a Sunday so they had the brunch menu. We didn't have reservations, but they accommodated us. The staff were super nice, and the food was amazing! My steak was very tasty and cooked just right. My wife got the seafood and grits, which were served in a massive martini glass. She said they were the best grits she had ever had. It took some time to get our food, but well worth the wait. This place had a very nice vibe of their own, with background hip-hop music playing. If you come with a good attitude and a bit of patience, you will have a great time and a great meal! read more

Our server's disposition was not friendly at all, rushed us and he never checked on us, I had to get up and get the bartender to refill my lemonade, my plan was to order cocktails. He brought two tickets (mixed themup), both less than $50 with an 18% gratuity charge added. We had a really great experience at Nouveau! We came in on a holiday weekend with a pretty large party and no reservation. They were pretty busy, but were quick to accommodate us. All of the staff were extremely cheerful, and gave us great recommendations. The location is really lovely, and has nice views of the downtown area. Parking was also pretty easy, as there is a big lot across the street. The best part was definitely the food! Everyone was raving about their orders. I got the lobster hash, and the lobster tail was fried perfectly: super crispy, but light. The potatoes were really flavorful, and a little spicy. I think next time I will have to go for the grits though. I rarely order grits in restaurants, because I always like mine better. These were thick, creamy, and really nicely seasoned. I also got a watermelon savage that was yummy with a nice kick. It can be hard to please everyone in my family, but this is a great special occasion restaurant. My brother in law lives in downtown Atlanta, and eats at a lot of fancy restaurants. He said it was one of the best meals he has had in a long time, and I have to agree. So my husband and I arrived at 8:28PM with no reservations. We finally were seated at 9:35pm. Once seated we had already looked at the menu so we knew what we wanted. We placed an order with Alexis for two Cajun shrimp and chicken pastas and a lamp chop dinner. Immediately after being seated. Our food came an hour and 16 minutes later. We never rec'd our salads. And our waitress never said anything about the food taking so long. I actually think she forgot about our food. I asked her "hey what's taking so long for our food" We were given plasticware for chops. The drinks were great ! I highly recommend making reservations. The food was not so great. First - too many rules. Two hours at table, no return of food, 18% gratuity on check, blah blah. Even though I had a reservation, the front hostess had attitude. The manager eventually told our party that she was operations, not the front. Well, if you know she got attitude, don't put her in the front greeting guests with bad attitude! Plastic cups - who does that? Plastic in a pack silverware served with our desert. Who does that? The chicken wings were SOOO salty. If I had high blood pressure I would have ended up in the hospital with a stroke. The Ceasar salads were out of bag. The fries with the chicken wings were cold. The ONLY savings grace was the peach cobbler cheesecake. Why is it that black owned food establishments that want to be restaurants are so lousy? Trust me, don't dine here. One of my best friends spoke nothing but praises about this place so I had to give them a try. My best friend made reservations a week prior to coming this past Sunday. She did that because on weekends there's a line and large crowds. The reservation was set for 1pm however me and couple of the party members were late but were seated once everyone was present. Our server, Lea was a true gem. She was attentive but not overbearing, knew the menu like the back of her hand and very friendly. She asks periodically was everything okay. The food was amazing 10/10, I ordered the sweet potato with the fried chicken with a side of eggs. The chicken tasted like someone's grandma cooked it in the back with an iron skillet. The dish comes with a honey syrup which is really sweet so I asked for it on the side. My best friend told me that hack and she was absolutely right. My other friends also did the sweet potato waffle with friend chicken and another friend got the fried catfish with the grits. The food was slamming cuz no one was talking at our table once the food came. I did get the rum punch (alcoholic) drink and it was good as well. We missed our reservation, and we had to wait 30mins, but she took care of us. We were seated outside and it wasn't working for us, so she relocated us which we greatly appreciated. I highly recommend this place. I have added Nouveau to the list of places to take out of town guests. This is located in the heart of Jonesboro in close proximity to Slutty Vegan if you need a marker. The must try dish is the seafood grits. I don't even like grits at all, but I ain't and enjoyed this dish the most. They have an extensive drink menu as well with some really good specialty drink options. The fresh toast was disappointing as I was expecting a more grand French toast like other places, it was really like wonder bread with some pineapple shreds, so I would avoid ordering that. One major pro is the open parking. They have a lot directly across from the restaurant which was great. Cant wait to go back to try more menu options. read more

I ordered the chicken and shrimp fettuccine alfredo. It was delicious! However because I do not like shrimp, I told them no shrimp , however I assumed they would've given me double chicken since I told them not to put the shrimp on it. Although it was delicious and at the end of the night our tab was over $200 I was still hungry when I left. My friend ordered the spinach with her steak and she was very disappointed in the spinach. She had to send it back and even when they sent it back out it was just a little better. I think they just need to find a better recipe for their spinach, If they are going to serve spinach may be a cream spinach or something. Our server was really good? she was a sweetheart! I dined here for the first time on 11/20. They were serving the brunch menu and I completely enjoyed my experience. The food and the service. We had a reservation (I highly recommend it) for when they opened. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our servers (one in training) came over and were friendly and professional. They were attentive throughout our dining experience. The restaurant has free parking spots directly out front. There is also a lot across the street. The decor is nice and the restaurant was clean. We did not use the restroom. There was music playing but at a reasonable level that allowed us to converse without yelling (which I have found to be the exception and not the rule). We ordered the peach margarita, passion lemonade, buffalo shrimp, fried lobster entree, pineapple French toast and sides of scrambled eggs. We also ordered the seafood and grits (the signature dish) for carry out. Nothing disappointed. Everything was delicious food AND drinks. Even the meals we carried home warmed up well and were still FANTASTIC. I wish they had a larger order of the buffalo shrimp. I definitely plan to order them with a salad and or fries in the future. I'm surprised more posts don't include them. I deducted one star for environment because it was cold in the restaurant so bring a jacket. If you're looking for a casual dining experience with great service, food and drinks put Nouveau Bar and Grill at the top of your list. I am definitely going back! read more

Sooooooo where do I start??!? I'm so glad they decided to bring this establishment to the Southside. Although I did not have a great experience at the other location, I wasn't hesitant to try this one. I have been to this location twice so far since they opened and I love it. I have been during two different settings. Saturday brunch and Friday evening. On a Friday evening, they provided a chill atmosphere with the doors open. We were able to meet some talkative neighbors and have a good time with our bartenders as we sat at the bar. One downside is that you have to check in with the host even if you plan on sitting at the bar and they kind of guide you there which is a little unnecessary. The food was good. We had the salmon, broccoli, and mashed potatoes. The broccoli is broccoli i so I didn't like that because the stems are super long and again unnecessary. Also enjoyed the spinach dip and the drinks. Our neighbors had the fries and we noticed they were a bit on the small side. On another occasion we dined for brunch and I had a good time as well. Bottomless mimosas within two hours. The Ultimate was amazing like amazing!! I wasn't able to finish it all. The other people that I was with enjoyed basic items and they seemed to enjoy them. Again, the atmosphere that this place provides makes you feel that you are in the city. The play the games, the greenery is nice, and the pics are amazing. Dined here for brunch on Sunday 9/19/2021 for a friend's bday brunch. Reservations were for 3pm and we were seated at that time. Our server came over right away, it was just one person, I think she could have used an assistant as it was a party of 11. Anyhow they do have some "house" rules, no sending back of food, what you order is what you have to pay for for, 2hr max on seating, etc, etc. I think that is kinda overboard but u know folks will try to wiggle their way into a free meal so I definitely understand. I ordered the chicken n waffles and will give it 10/10. Before I ordered I asked were the wings the big "steroid" wings and she laughed and said no. The waffle has a hint of sweet potato flavor and was very good. When they bring it out there was some syrup poured on the waffle, which I was fine with but I can see some folks would not like that as it makes the waffle soggy. I also ordered a side of grits which were yummy, but kinda just a lil bit too much salt. We were seated out on the patio which was cool but once the food came the constant swatting of flies and bees was kinda too much, one almost flew in my mouth. They need more citronella candles or something to keep them at bay. The music was pretty much a RnB from the late 80s to early 90s, it was jammin and not too loud. Parking is easy as there is a few street spots but a huge parking lot across the street and it is FREE, I hate having to pay to park!! Anyhow I 10/10 would recommend. My only complaint is the chairs on the patio are metal but cheap metal. When we were headed out, I scooted the chair back and the legs bent and I almost fell to the ground as the back legs were bending, now that would have been embarrassing!!!‍‍‍ for my beverage I ordered the peach lemonade and be aware there are NO free refills on this beverage, not even one.
